Located in the medieval castle of Collepino, this beautiful 2-bedroom-appartment was recently and completely remodeled. It is very luminous and suggestive and offers fantastic views on the countryside, being totally surrounded by olive-tree-fields , meadows, forests and the lovely Umbrian hilly landscape.
Besides the very spacious living-room that hosts the kitchen and a rustic fire-place, there is two bedrooms, both of them with a master king size bed of wrought iron. Moreover, the fold-out-sofa in the living-room can accommodate two more guests.
The tiny town of Collepino, attached to the protected Park of Mount Subasio (at 600 m above the sea-level), offers the great opportunity to enjoy the silence of nature, to go on long walks or bike-tours up on the mountain, maybe looking for wild asparagus or mushrooms and truffle, and at the same time its visitors will be welcomed by the few inhabitants and this wonderful little settlement that offers a romantic little café and a restaurant well-known for its delicious regional dishes.
Collepino, where parking is no problem, is perfectly linked to Spello (4,5 km), that can be also reached walking down the roman aqueduct, and to other cities such as Assisi (about 10 km), Perugia, Spoleto, Montefalco or Todi.
For the many cultural, religious, gastro-enological, fun and free time opportunities and happenings at Spello throughout the year, search key words such as “Comune di Spello”.
And if all this is not enough for you yet, or if you just look out for a place to relax and once do nothing, you might just stay in and "rent an italian mamma" to cook for or even with you whatever you prefer of the italian kitchen.
The landlord’s family will organize all this for you. The languages spoken are English, German and Italian.
The apartment in Collepino was lovely. It is well decorated and spacious. The views from the apartment over the hills and silvery olive trees is spectacular. Anja was a gracious and generous host. Anja was helpful with recommendations. When the hot water and heat stopped working, Paolo offered to come fix it after midnight. We opted to wait until morning. it was a simple fox and a common issue for the house. Once Paolo showed us how to fix it, we were able to manage it ourselves when it happened again.
The only problems in the apartment were the very spotty wifi connection and the shower/bath set up. The WiFi was not dependable at all. The tub is tiny and impossible to soak in. The shower (when there was hot water) was fine.
We loved staying in Collepino. It was incredibly tranquil with only one bar/cafe and one restaurant open. The drive to Spello is short but a bit scary at night so once we were finished with our daily adventures to Assisi, Montepalco, Todi, and all of the other beautiful towns in driving distance, we were happy beach night to go to Silvester's Tavern for dinner. Falvio, barrista perfetto, made us coffee each morning, and regaled us with his rock and roll music knowledge and highly spirited sense of humor. His wife prepared a lovely platter of vegetables and cheeses for us when we discovered that the only restaurant was closed on Thursday.
Paolo and his wife Anja were so kind to us and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We loved the little town of Collepino and the apartment was perfect. We can't say enough good things about our experience! Grazie!
This was my best Airbnb experience ever. I was amazed at the lengths Paolo and his partner Anja went to. To begin with, our welcome was sooo warm - Anja truly is lovely. And the place is beautiful beyond our wildest expectations - set in a romantic castle-village above the beautiful hilltop-town of Spello.
Anja and Paolo really shined when faced with something unexpected on Christmas. There was a problem with something minor (the washing machine... except that we needed clean clothes and were leaving the next day... and it was the 26th December and everything was closed). Anja and Paolo washed our clothes for us, sought advice from a technician, and fixed the washing machine themselves so that the next guests would have a working washing machine.
I can highly recommend this airbnb! They even put out Christmas decorations for us.
What a wonderful experience. I felt like we were living a fairy tale. And no wonder. Our lovely apartment was nestled in a real castle on a hill. It had everything - more than everything - that we could have expected. The view was breathtaking. And Anja could not have been more gracious, more welcoming, or more helpful, both in terms of greeting us, suggesting places to go and to eat (We adored Drinkingwine! We ate there twice!), and making sure everything worked perfectly. I highly recommend this property and would love to move in permanently!

- mancano persiane o tende coprenti nelle camere da letto, per cui se vi piace svegliarvi con la luce del sole non c'è problema, ma se preferireste dormire un po' di più dovete attrezzarvi o di mascherina per dormire o cercare di mettere qualcosa davanti alla finestra;
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
A me e mia moglie piace viaggiare, leggere, stare in mezzo alla natura, camminare e fare scampagnate, a piedi e in bicicletta.
