About this listing
Large, comfortable double room with private bathroom in characterful 200 year-old house. Bed can be one king-size or two singles. Use of kitchen, conservatory and sitting-room, plus access to stunning 4 acre garden. Double room also available.
This unique house is quiet, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. Situated at the bottom of an avenue of ancient lime trees, it is enclosed by other mature trees. An ideal place for a romantic get-away, but also close to wonderful amenities - three top-notch race-courses, angling on the River Liffey, hill-walking and climbing in the Wicklow mountains (just 45 minutes away) and proximity to the delights of Dublin city (bus and train service from Sallins and Clane).
Guest have access to a cosy sitting-room with TV and wood-burning stove, large kitchen/conservatory, piano room with well-stocked book-shelves, computer room and, of course, amazing woodland and water garden
Interaction with Guests
Host is freely available for advice and conversation with her guests. " I love talking to visitors, but if talk is not your thing, I am happy to let you have your space."
This is a quiet neighbourhood. There are mainly young families in the immediate vicinity, but as all homes are in their own gardens, the quiet is undisturbed.
The Arrow train service runs from Sallins (2 km distance) to Dublin, Celbridge, Newbridge and Kildare town. A bus service to Dublin is available in Clane (3 km distance). I am happy to pick up guests from Naas, Sallins or Clane and drop them off at bus and train stops.
Other Things to Note
As a qualified EFL (English as Foreign Language) teacher, I would be happy to help with your conversational English, but I would also be available for formal classes.
Courtesy and respect is expected. Smoking is allowed in the house, but is strictly forbidden in bedrooms.
