Large, well furnished property - ideally equipped to accommodate between 2 and 6 people and is priced by number of occupants - so is perfect and economical, whether for couples, families or larger groups of friends. It offers sun-filled, welcoming accommodation with private outdoor space in which to relax and enjoy the sun and soaring mountain views. Begin your holiday with complimentary wine and tapas on arrival (juice and biscuits for smaller visitors) while you take in the views.

For groups larger than 6 we can provide a quality double sofa-bed (or child's cot/z bed) on request. We strive to offer attractive rates whatever the size of your group.

The main living room and bedroom windows face East and South - taking in the sweep of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The living room has dual aspect windows and French Doors onto the balcony. The large private terrace on the side of the property enjoys the same views.

The property offers a fabulous year round location for both summer holidays and winter skiing - a comfortable, well-equipped, family-friendly base from which to enjoy everything that this richly diverse region has to offer.

The twin room has it's own TV and DVD player (in addition to the HDTV internet-connected Smart TV in the living room) we also provide an extensive DVD library, books and games, plus a small pool/snooker table for family fun and some equipment for smaller visitors (please tell us at the time of booking if you need our 'toddler pack' with cot, highchair seat adaptor, or an additional Z bed for a child in the master bedroom). The village itself is very child friendly - all of the restaurants welcome children and there is also a lovely new play park.

Accommodation details:
The apartment has a comfortable master suite (with double bed), which opens onto the terrace. The second bedroom also has a double bed and the third is equipped with twin beds. For even larger groups there is also a quality double sofa bed in the spacious living room. There is a well equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms (an en-suite to the Master bedroom and a larger, family bathroom).

The private terrace has ample space for dining and lounging amid the lovely mountain views. It is also equipped with a large garden table and chairs, daybed, loungers, and a BBQ. The covered section of the terrace has the games area with pool table.

Guest access

Guests have sole use of the private terrace and balcony - both enjoying stunning panoramic views. The price also includes central heating in winter, air-conditioning in summer, secure parking, fast broadband, high standard of furnishings & equipment. Light, spacious, dual aspect living room enjoying the stunning mountain views. Plenty of seating - 2 large sofas (sofa bed available on request). Dining table will seat six. Our friendly local keyholder, Rosie, will meet you at the entrance to the village and guide you to the property. She speaks English and Spanish and is happy to offer local information and advice if required.

The neighborhood


There are great little tapas bars and restaurants to discover within strolling distance, majestic nature and outdoor possibilities all around in the Sierra Nevada National Park, and beautiful historic Granada on the doorstep.
Guejar Sierra is a traditional white mountain village with cobbled streets in a stunning location 20 min. East of historic Granada (Alhambra Palace) and 35 min. from the Sierra Nevada ski resort (Pradollano). Beautiful views abound everywhere & many local restaurants traditionally open up swimming pools in the summer or lakeside/riverside dining terraces overlooking the Rio Genil or the blue waters of the Canales Reservoir. Great family activity location, walks begin from the doorstep and there are also opportunities for mountain-biking, horse-riding, climbing, canoeing, paragliding. This is also a great base from which to explore historic Granada, with its beautiful Moorish buildings, Alhambra Palace & fascinating Moroccan bazaar. Costa Tropical Beaches - 45 min. Guadix caves - 35 min. Water Park - 20 min. Also great romantic getaway for couples with excellent restaurants, or just a place to relax, enjoy the welcoming Spanish atmosphere & while the day away with free tapas.

Other Activities: Sierra Nevada Ski Resort - 20 min., Alhambra Palace - 20 mins, Family Water Park at Cenes - 20 min.

Golf: There are now three golf courses in Granada and more within reasonable driving distance such as the one at Motril on the Costa Tropical 9 holes). The 18 hole Granada Club de Golf is signposted from Armilla. No reservations necessary. Clubs can be hired and if you play in the morning, the cost for 18 holes is approximately 20 Euro (more on Sundays and festivals).

Getting around

Guejar Sierra is great base for visiting Granada and has an excellent bus link so - depending on the type of holiday you envision - car hire may not be necessary. If not sure, do get in touch - we are happy to advise. We ourselves use Helle Hollis car hire at Malaga Airport. Visitors are welcome to cite our Helle Hollis Owner's Club number H0508 - which entitles them to 15% discount.

This apartment is a lovely place to be whatever the season and is the perfect base for those who are seeking to combine a number of different elements into their holiday.

Güejar is a great base for a huge variety of activities - mountain biking, walks of all levels, climbing, canoeing, rafting, fishing, paragliding, horse-riding, winter skiing and summer fiestas. And all of this is only 20 mins from Granada - a great place to wander the tree-lined plazas, sample the tapas, listen to real flamenco and simply enjoy the traditional Spanish ambiance of this lovely city.

This is also a great place to relax - whether topping up your tan on the sunny terrace, or simply watching the sun set behind the mountain while you enjoy a long tall glass of something.

The little village of Güejar Sierra, with its cobbled streets and flower draped balconies is something of an undiscovered gem - a well kept Spanish secret. This is where the local Granadinos come to enjoy the best of all that the Sierra Nevada can offer.

The location is only 20 mins from Granada/Alhambra Palace and about 25 mins from the ski resort. The pretty coves of the Costa Tropical are also within easy reach with 45 mins - with some great 'chiringuitas' where you can eat fresh fish right on the beach. The traditional white village of Guejar Sierra itself has great tapas bars, restaurants, local shops, pharmacy, bank and two lovely pools in summer. Our friendly keyholders are happy to give advice and can help organize chef services, tapas tours, hiking, biking, horse-riding, canoeing, treasure hunts for children and babysitting.

Guejar Sierra is also famous for its cherries - so just ask our keyholders if you wish to sample some local, organic, cherry jam!

Sierra Nevada ski resort:
The apartment is ideally placed for skiing at Pradollano (Sol y Nieve Ski Resort) in the Sierra Nevada. The Sierra Nevada boasts the highest downhill runs in Europe as well as being the most southerly - so it often enjoys better snow than the Alps. The resort - with its superb services and installations was built for the Winter Olympics and offers its visitors a wide range of facilities and a ski terrain to suit skiers & boarders of all standards. There are 70km of ski runs, 45 pistes and 300 snow machines guaranteeing snow on the slopes. There is also night skiing by floodlight! As one of Europe's highest resorts it has a surprisingly long season and traditionally opens at the end of November running through to the end of April or even into the first week of May. The resort is so far south that the climate is superb for brushing up on your tan and on clear days there are views of Africa from the top!

Competitive pricing based on number of occupants not size of property (ie: smaller groups mean smaller overheads in terms of laundry/electricity etc - we onpass these savings to the customer in order to offer the best value for a property of this size and standard).

For larger groups of friends wishing to travel together - we can rent the apartment together with the small 1 bedroomed apartment next door, or with a choice of 2 bedroomed apartments in the same building.

We are happy to share advice on flights/routes/timings/car hire etc which we have found to be cheapest.

Skiing -
Handy cheap ski hire (inc magnetic ski carrier for car) and/or transport up to the ski lifts now available right from the village. Please ask for further info. Same company offers horse-riding and mountain bike hire in summer.

We are happy to provide a cot or Z bed for an extra child on request.

Price includes heating, air conditioning, wireless broadband, secure parking, cleaning at the beginning of your stay, towels and linen (including beach towels). We also provide a complementary welcome pack. Please enquire if you have any further questions.

On the changeover day:
Following the departure of the previous guests in the morning, the property will be properly cleaned and prepared prior to your arrival. It will not usually therefore be ready for you before 3.00pm - unless we have informed you otherwise. When making your booking please let us know your estimated time of arrival so that we can pass on this information to the keyholders. This will allow them to organise their day so that they can be there to meet you at the arranged time. Please also let us have a mobile phone number when you book, so that we can contact you on the day of arrival if necessary. If your arrival is significantly delayed for any reason (for example – a flight delay) please contact us, or the keyholder. We also ask you to reconfirm your arrival time by telephoning the keyholder on the day of arrival once your flight has landed and you have collected your hire car etc. The latest acceptable arrival is 10pm. There may be an-out-hours surcharge payable on arrival to the keyholders after this time.

On the day of departure (unless we have already agreed otherwise) please vacate the property by 10.00am.

Gas, Water and Electricity
Gas, water and electricity for normal domestic consumption are included in the rental price.

As we make no additional charge for the electric heating we do ask clients to be considerate in turning off heaters when they go out for the day.

Bed Linen & Towels
Bed linen and bathroom towels are included in the price.

The property is, of course, cleaned between holidays. However there is only a limited period in which to clean so we would be grateful if you could leave the house and its contents as tidy as possible.

Maximum Occupancy
The maximum occupancy of the property is denoted on the rental details.

There is an electric hob and oven, sink with hot and cold water, washing machine, refrigerator with freezer compartment, adequate cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and other household equipment to a reasonable standard for holiday use (or above) and suitable for the number of people the house accommodates. The property has a modern bathroom with flushing WC and bath with shower over with hot and cold running water.

The property does not have a telephone line. There is however a phone box close by in the village.

Stunning views from this very comfortable cozy apartment. The beds were all very comfortable and I loved all the unique wooden furniture pieces. The apartment was a great quiet oasis after a long day in the snow or hiking. Thanks again for a great stay!

We love travel, books and nights on the sofa with Netflix and glass of wine. Used to work in the media and have travelled extensively - particularly in Europe, the USA and Southeast Asia.

We have two properties available in the south of England. One in Poole - a harbour town in the beautiful county of Dorset, the other in Corfe Castle - the jewel in the crown of the "Jurassic Coast".

Our other property is in Guejar Sierra, in the heart of Spain's stunning Sierra Nevada National Park. Only 20 mins East of Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Guejar’s flower draped balconies, mountain views and great little tapas bars make it a perfect base for year-round outdoor activity (walking, mountain-biking, kayaking or swimming in mountain pools in the summer & skiing in the Sierra Nevada ski resort in the winter).
