This is the most desirable neighborhood in St. Pete. The tree lined streets, and the lovely historic homes, are all in walking distance to downtown and the shores of Tampa Bay. There are 4 national act music venues within a 2 mile radius. Parks galore, museums, galleries, sidewalk cafes and plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants. Downtown St. Pete has it all, and the pristine Gulf beaches are only a 20 minute car or trolley ride.
The New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of lovely historic homes and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene.” This is the most desirable neighborhood in St. Pete. Most recently ranked # 49 in the The New York Times “52 Places to Go in 2014” in the world.
Private parking and 2 Bikes, or take the trolley for 50 cents.
Other Things to Note
This is St. Pete at its best!
Just be respectful, and no smoking please. No pets, unless I make an exception.
Eddie's place and Eddie were just great! The house is as described. Eddie was very welcoming and greeted us in person even though it was late at night. The house has a great sound system, which my son really enjoyed, wonderful lighting in all areas and has a cool and comfortable vibe over all. We also like that there are not many rules, just be respectful and communicate with Eddie about anything. The location is extremely convenient to the downtown. You can walk 4 or 5 blocks and be in a commercial area, yet the house is in a beautiful residential area, which is also very quiet. We would stay again. Thanks, Eddie.
A unique historic house situated just blocks away from both downtown and the bay. The house was super clean, nicely decorated and well stocked (great blender, stemless wine glasses, high quality bed sheets and very comfortable pillows). Eddie was so kind and made excellent recommendations on where to eat, a place to swim laps, etc..We would definitely stay here again!
We all absolutely fell in love with this home the moment we saw it on Airbnb. But let me tell you , seeing it in person is all the more better. The pictures are great but in person was Eddies home was incredible. Great artwork and musicially inspired home that will woo anyone that enjoys the arts. Eddie himself was just the same. Musically inclined and vibrant just like his home. He gave us great recommendations on where to shop and eat. And boy was he spot on. This home is so conviniently located in downtown Saint Petersburg that we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. If walking is not your thing there are bicycles in the garage for your convenience. The entire neighborhood had nothing but good things to say about Eddie and I now see why. He is a true loungecat and I hope to catch his band the next time I go down. Thanks again Eddie
Eddie was good when we went the A/C was not working, hopefully Eddie must have fixed it by now as he said he would fix it and he was unaware of the issue when we rented the house, ideal for 2 or 3 people.
I didn't know the air wasn't working, you have to tell me for it to be fixed.
Vijaya told me to improve the experience of my house I should, "Maybe keep the decor in the house more generic it is his house but when renting to public A little generic decor would be nice." My response; Vijaya, thats why there are pictures and descriptions of all the choices on Airbnb. The Bohemian Bungalow is a funky art and music inspired place with 13 great pictures to show it. Why did you choose The Bohemian Bungalow when you could of had something more plane and generic. Most places are plane and generic, my place is for art and music lovers or people that just want to try something a little different. Sorry you didn't get it, but I'm glad everyone else does!
Great Host. Great place. Great location. Will stay again in the future. Exactly as described.
Eddie was very quick in answering our questions. He met us during our check-in and showed us his lovely home. We appreciate Eddie uses or supplies natural products for cleaning; he even offered to take away our recycles for us.
Eddie’s home is in a safe and quiet historic neighbourhood. It is within walking distance to downtown, live theaters, parks, waterfront and attractions. We spent a lot of time walking and exploring the neighbourhood and downtown areas. Some of the highlights for us were the Saturday Morning Market, Chihuly Collection and Mahaffey Theatre.
The house is cozy and well-stocked. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a meal. It was wonderful to be surrounded by many musical instruments and eclectic artwork. We love the neighbourhood and would definitely stay at Eddie’s place again.
A big thanks to Eddie for letting us stay at his home.
