About this listing
St John’s cottage is cute, comfortable and affordable accommodation in the perfect location. Just a stones throw away from the architectural wonders of Selcuk and a 2 minute walk from restaurants and refreshments.
St. John’s Cottage is situated on the hillside opposite St. John’s Basilica, it is within short walking distance to Ayasuluk Castle and a minute walk from the town (website hidden). John’s Cottage comfortably sleeps four; there is a living room, kitchen, utility room and bathroom. Outside the roof terrace covers the entire area of the property and there is also a garden at the front of the property. The cottage has been recently renovated and combines modern lifestyle with contemporary Turkish design.
Some of our favorite places to visit are the Selçuk market; which is in Selçuk every Saturday and Wednesday selling a variety of goods: fruit & veg, clothes, household products, chickens, plants and knickknacks.
The Hammam: is a Turkish bath House where you can go to relax and unwind, experience a Turkish scrub & massage, or just enjoy lounging on the hot stone. The Hammam is mixed with both men and women for most of the week then on Fridays 12:00 until 16:00 it's ladies only.
Pamucak Beach: is a favorite spot to take a picnic and is particularly beautiful at sunset, if you’re feeling adventurous you can trek across the beach on horseback or hire a quad bike.
Guests will have complete access in and around the property grounds including exclusive use of the roof top terrace with views of the Selcuk Castle and Basilica of St. John

The host was wonderful, very very friendly. The house was fine, a little basic and the road noise from the roof terrace is very loud. The view from the terrace of the castle is great. My once concern was that at night the road to get to the house is very dark and has a number of men drinking on it, i didn't feel comfortable walking there alone.
The location was fantastic. Rooftop view was very cool and much appreciated during morning coffees and conversations. Menekse helped us get set up and recommended cool spots around the town. Fantastic value!
Our host was flexible in accommodating our travel schedule and gave us a cheerful greeting when we arrived. She walked us to the cottage, showed us how to work the laundry, and gave us a map with suggestions for sightseeing. We even ran into her the next day while visiting the Ephesus Museum, and it was like greeting a friend.
We had a great (email hidden) Johns Cottage and enjoyed its central location. All the facilities were great. Thanks to Menekse for the hospitality and tourism advice.
Our stay at St. John's cottage was great. Menekse was very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the cold weather didn't allow us to take advantage of the rooftop deck. The location was excellent, close to important sites and downtown, but yet quiet. Selcuk was a great place to visit. All four of us had a wonderful time.
Great spot really close to the city centre and a short drive (or walk) to Ephesus! Our host was very helpful and pointed out some great spots to eat in town.
