We were running late the day we showed up at the house and we were greeted by Heathers mom even at that late hour. There were cookies there for us and a wonderful tour. Our in Oranmore was the best of our trip. They even got us a CD we had left at the airbnb with no problems or difficulties. I would encourage anyone wanting to visit Galway to stay at this amazing location.

We had an amazing stay at Oranmore Castle Lodge! Heather was a fantastic host - accommodating our late arrival and answering any questions we had, while Olive her neighbour gave us a very warm welcome and intro to the house. A car definitely came in handy to get around, but it's near enough Galway to feel close to the city (in a short taxi ride) and far enough to feel peaceful and serene. The house itself is so quirky and cute, warm and relaxing and THAT VIEW!! We will definitely be back when we can :)

Like others have mentioned, my correspondence was with Heather (very quick response) but met personally with neighbor Olive who let us in and showed us the place. It's a little worn with a very eclectic collection of stuff acquired through the years but that's part of its charm. It's in a very convenient location (walkable to town) and not too far from Galway. There are plenty of cooking/kitchen implements so you can cook a proper meal there. Washer available; no dryer but a rack and the radiators do a fine job of drying. Lots of room for 6 people and the little extra 1/2 bath is nice -- one bathroom en suite, bring your own shampoo. A little musty/damp smelling but it's sort of expected living in such a damp environment; you kind of get used to it. We all had a great time there and the common area is big and open so it was a nice place to get together at the beginning and ends of the day. Everything else seemed to work fine: bathrooms, kitchen, washer, wifi, TV, fireplace.

We had a wonderful stay in Oranmore, everything was as described. Easy to find. The rooms are big, the beds very comfortable, the living room is upstairs, the view over the bay wonderful. The weather was still good so we could have a coffee on the balcony and just enjoy the calm and quiet atmosphere. The neighbours are very friendly. Shops, grocery stores and pubs are within walking distance. We did not get to meet Heather, but Olive was there to welcome us and show us around. Don't miss Keanes Pub, the food and service is excellent. The interior of the flat is different and unique, but it is cosy and comfortable. There are many interesting sights to see in the area and Galway is an intersting city with many pubs and music everywhere. Heather is a very good communicator and she answered at once. I can truly recommend Oranmore. It was a good experience for us. Thank you Heather

We had a fantastic week in Oranmore, gorgeous town with lovely restaurants, pubs and coffee shops and a huge park just up the road. The lodge itself was a great size for our family (4 adults, 2 kids under 2) and we all enjoyed the spectacular view from the living room. Olive was there to meet us when we arrived and she was very friendly and helpful. The location is also a great base to explore the surrounding areas such as Galway city, Connemara National Park and the Aran Islands.

Hi,
My name is Heather and I am a knitwear designer. I run my own business from my studio shop on the grounds of the Castle. I am inspired by the sea, textiles and the colour turquoise! I manage the rentals of Oranmore Castle lodge during the Summer
and work from Dublin during the rest of the year.
