Nestled a short stroll from the beach and all of the amenities that Coronado offers, you’ll discover an enclave of four vacation homes surrounding a refreshing pool and flourishing gardens. This is the main house.
Panama is a country rich in culture, beauty and architecture. Visitors are often spellbound by Panama's lush backdrop, beaches and vistas. Leading the list on many "must-see" places in Panama is Coronado, just over a one hour drive from the cosmopolitan city of Panama City. As Panama's first resort development, Coronado offers every amenity and service desired; from gourmet restaurants to quaint ocean-front cantinas, from remote beaches to championship-caliber golf courses. With an average temperature of 84 degrees (29 Celsius), the gated community of Coronado is the perfect place to pursue your pleasures under the warm tropical sun.
Here is more information about my Coronado property and casitas for you.
Nestled a short stroll from the beach and all of the amenities that Coronado offers, you’ll discover an enclave of four vacation homes surrounding a refreshing pool and flourishing gardens. These homes offer the perfect choice for your next Coronado vacation, allowing you privacy and social interaction with other guests as desired around the shared pool or gardens.
The enclave includes:
1. Casa Gaviota – a lovely one bedroom casita located in the front garden of the grounds. A self-contained casita featuring a king-size bed, this home is beautifully tiled, includes an updated, private bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. The home also enjoys A/C and cable TV.
2. Casa Tortuga – is a brand new (as of June 2013!) one bedroom casita located near the pool. This casita includes a queen-size bed, desk, en-suite bathroom, A/C, and attached fully equipped kitchen for your use.
3. Casa Toucan – is a one bedroom casita located near the pool. This casita includes a king-size bed, desk, en-suite bathroom, brand new A/C, and fully equipped kitchen (built, brand new Dec 2013th with full size fridge, brand new stove, pots/pans etc. )
4. Casa Grande – is a self-contained one bedroom home featuring a queen-size and double bed in the bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, living room and full bath. The home also includes A/C in the bedroom, a TV in the living room and desk.
The Coronado enclave also includes:
•High speed, wireless internet
•Games including board games and ping pong

•A washing machine for your use
•A local cell phone is also included for your use with each home; you need to only purchase credits.
We offer security and peace-of-mind with an English-speaking property manager and two on-site caretakers (Vilma and Luis who live in the apartment in the front yard, and are like famly to me!) who are available should the need arise. If you require cleaning and laundry services during your stay, this can be organized through one of the caretakers at a reasonable added cost.
Vilma and Luis have been with me looking after the property for the 7 years that I've owned the house. They dont' speak english, but are very patient and kind and can anticipate the needs of my guests. Normally, I am here, but if I'm traveling.. you are in more than capable hands with them. If you are looking for a true Panama experience and lovely grounds and pool (my backyard is referred to as an oasis.. evenings are special too with the colourful outdoor lights in the palms and fountain..heaven!), with all the practicalities of a comfortable stay (fully equipped kitchens, private entrance to your casita, good quality linens/towels etc).. this is your paradise!
I hope that you will consider spending your vacation with us in my Coronado enclave. It is my utmost goal to offer each guest a stress-free vacation, in comfortable and well maintained surroundings, all at a price that will help you stretch your vacation dollar further.
Guests have the luxury of the combination of privacy and social time. Each casita and the ain home has it's own kitchen and space, so private. Outdoor areas are all shared, gardens, pool, patios and often guests get together for a potluck, BBQ or just a friendly chit chat. Lifelong friends have been made on this property!
Interaction with Guests
As the owner of the house and property, I am most often here and can assist guest with travel plans, questions and we often socialize together. I always offer to arrange group outings to local happy hours or markets. In the rare event that I am traveling, I have caretakers and a property manger to ensure the guests are comfortable and have all they need, and I am always in contact by email in the seldom event that I am out of the country.
I live in the BEST neighbourhood in Coronado. In fact most of the amenities near the beach (hotel/golf, corner store, bars, restaurants..) are walking distance from my house. The major supermarkets are more located at the highway, so only a 5 minute drive
Most folks have a rental car. If you don't have one, no problem! Local buses go every few minutes to the grocery store and highway.. 35 cents. Also, I have a golf cart for rent. Many places are easily walkable.
Other Things to Note
If you have found this listing and book.. , you will be one of hundreds of happy guests who will never forget their Coronado experience in this friendly and happy environment!
This property is a great vibe property and I have received the most awesome , polite and fun guests over the last 7 years. Not too many rules.. just the basics (ie no overnight guests that have not been registered, and no fireworks at 2 am!)
- Respect for other renters if present (ie late night noise/parties)
- Shower before using pool
- Being respectful of electricity costs and minimizing a/c use, while turning off when not using or when out.
- rinsing out sand from clothing before using washing machine
- no smoking inside, and even when outside, keep a distance from casitas to not bother other guests.
My fiancé and I had a very pleasant experience at Sarah's Casitas. Casa Gaviota was perfect for what we were looking for. It was really nice to have a private house but also have access to the shared grounds. The garden and pool were beautiful and that is where we spent most of our time. The beach is also very close by.
The casita had all the amenities we require for a comfortable stay (coffee maker, toaster, AC, etc.). We made several meals and had everything we needed to cook.
We did not meet Sarah as she was traveling but she was very friendly and responsive. Her onsite caretaker is very friendly and hospitable.
All in all a great experience! We hope to go back soon!
Sarah was a wonderful host from the time we arrived to the time we left. She was always available to answer any questions or deal with any issues we may have had whether it be in person, by telephone or email. She helped us out when I had to go to the client for a wrenched knee and again when our rental car blew a tire.
Casita Gaviota and the remaining areas on the property are as advertised. The air conditioning was a blessing as we were not (and still are not) used to the heat. The pool and back gardens were our savior and that is exactly where we spent most of our time,....in the pool, in one of the hammocks, in the shade under one of the many trees, or on the back desk chatting with our casita neighbours.
Sarah's casitas is truly a "home away from home" and we will definitely stay here again if we are ever in Coronado again.
We had wonderful time at Sarah place in Coronado.
'Casita' was clean, functional, well furnished, kitchen with everything needed. Pool and area around it just amazing, with so many well chosen details. Sarah is the best host you could wish for!
Best beach nearby is Playa Serena, spot where river delta is (easiest to reach it with a car but also walkable).
We were excited to stay at Gaviota Cottage, because of the photos of the garden and pool, and because of Sarah's rave reviews for excellent service. However, Sarah was ill during our stay and it seems we slipped through the cracks. We received very little concierge-type service during our stay; only a brief conversation on our arrival. In our five day stay, we saw Sarah once as she was on her way out and once as we were departing. Her guidebook was helpful and she provided a cell phone which guests can buy minutes for, but we felt rather lost and on-our-own to explore the area. Perhaps we should have been more assertive in asking for help.
The gardens and pool were lovely. We especially like the waterfall feature in the pool and the hammocks. We ate a tranquil picnic on the lawn. We loved the beach, and the walk to the beach, which was about eight blocks. We didn't rent a car and we walked several times to the shopping district, which seems to be 2 or 3 miles. From there we could hail a taxi.
The apartment kitchen had a fan but no a/c, so it was quite warm in the day. The well water is potable, and the coffee packets provided were tasty. The fridge handles were situated so that using the kitchen was awkward. Otherwise, all appliances worked well (microwave, gas stove, blender, coffee brewer.) It was plain and functional.
The bedroom had a/c, which helped at night. Coronado had a nice afternoon/evening breeze, which might have cooled the room enough without a/c, but there were parties and fireworks nearby at night. (We were there over New Year's Eve, so this cottage might be quiet normally). The bed had hills and valleys and my husband and I both had back-aches in the mornings.
The cottage was not sufficiently cleaned for our arrival. I described this to Sarah during our check out and she promptly refunded half of one-night's cost.
She wanted us to be satisfied. We are sorry she was ill, and we understand it must have been hard for her to be available to us. However, in the end we felt that we would have been happier if we had booked a more cheerful, comfortable place even at a higher price.
Dear Suzanne and Paul. Thank you so much for your feedback, and I'm really sorry you did not receive the normal service my guests do, due the pneumonia I was suffering from. I have acted on your feedback and have ordered a brand new king mattress and newer linens. My housekeeper understands that she did not prepare the casita to her / our normal standards and she was very apologetic. I hope you will return at another date and allow the opportunity for the service we are well known for at the property. Had I known about the not so positive feedback earlier in your stay, I certainly would have attended to everything for you. It was only the last day that I was aware of your concerns. My health is now regained for the most part , and we excitedly await your return to Panama. All the best, Sarah
Sarah was a great host, helpful & made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The location is close to the beach and some restaurants. The pool, BBQ and garden were our favorites. The be was comfy. Thanks Sarah
I ve been 2 nights in Casa Gaviota and Sarah has been really nice and helpful. Her place is really lovely and ideal to chill out. And you re welcome to enjoy the BBQ or whatever with them. The room are clean and nice too. I definitely recommend the place!!!

I am a Canadian, living in Panama for 9 years. I own and rent fully equipped apartments in Panama City , as well as casitas on my property near the beach in Coronado (about 1 1/4 hour from Panama City) and a brand new 2 bedroom Coronado Golf Condo located on our famous Tom Fazio golf course in Coronado.
I am also a Buyer's Consultant with a reputable REAL ESTATE company in the Coronado Area. I have helped many people realize their retirement, relocation and investment dreams, and I have wonderful contacts in just about any field you can think of. I am happy to help you with everything Panama!
I started (with a dream, a prayer and a loan from a friend! ) a property management company in Whistler in the 90's and owned / operated Whistler Peak Properties, managing 85 high end ski in/out condos and townhomes, along with my wonderful team. After selling my company in 2001 I traveled SE Asia for 2 years, then moved south and put my experience and expertise to work in Mexico and now Panama. I have renovated all my properties and have learned so many interesting and valuable lessons, about the countries and cultures and really love living in Latin America.
Personally, I am friendly, easy going, spontaneous and my friends compliment me on my spirit. I really love adventures and my greatest passion is travel. I am curious and interested in other cultures and strive to learn languages and get to know the locals. In essence, it inspires me....
Am originally from England, but grew up in Canada and moved to Mexico then, onto Panama . My business , and passion is real estate investing, renovating and marketing / renting vacation rentals in Panama City and country areas, as well as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I sincerely believe in a high level of service and my motto is "Everyone deserves a world class greeting". I also make a huge effort to keep my properties current, constantly renovating / upgrading items and furnishings. Most importantly, service and true hospitality!
Because of my love for travel, Panama has proven to be a fantastic hub, and I've visited almost every Central and South American country with only a couple more countries left on the bucket list.
I hope you will come and visit us in Panama!
I have had the BEST experience with airbnb.. first as a renter, then host, now both! I have used this site extensively in my travels to the Middle East, India and Europe as a guest, and even more extensively as a host.
Please contact me for the best local experience.
Bienvenidos a Panama y Mexico, Sarita
