The space

Welcome to YURNGA, aboriginal for "Big View".

My Tamborine Mountain Retreat ( Yurnga) is a secluded Mountain Retreat, architect designed, located in a rain forest setting with a big view overlooking the Gold Coast. The house sits on a huge 3 acre block, complete with its' own rain forest and rolling green pastures. It is a unique sub tropical setting.
Hear our resident Whipbird- he is reclusive but sure makes his presence felt!
The address is "chic & ritzy". If glass walkways and glass ceilings are to your liking this is your location. If entering the Japanese style bath house by a revolving door is to your liking, this is also your location.
Share your breakfast with a kookaburra- sometimes they take pole position on the verandah.

Tamborine Mountain is part of the Scenic Rim. Everywhere you turn you will see mountains. In 1908 Queensland's first National Park was declared- Witches Falls on Tamborine Mountain.
.Australia's most accessible World Heritage-listed rainforests are spread throughout the 8 National Parks of the Scenic Rim. The natural landscape is stunning!
It is a world of sub-tropical, eucalyptus and cycad rainforest featuring an abundance of easy walks and magnificent views of the Gold Coast and the national parks of The Scenic Rim.

There is much to do and see:

The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk puts you in the canopy with the wildlife. This is in the top 2 attractions on the Mountain, the other being the Glow Worm Caves.

If you are a daredevil, you can hitch a ride with a local hang glider, or you can be an onlooker.
Meander down Gallery Walk, a run of intriguing shops, restaurants, art galleries.

If food and wine are more to your taste, visit the Cheese Factory, or The Belgian Chocolate Shop, or the boutique breweries and distilleries
.Buy some locally grown organic veggies, a bunch of native flowers, or a coffee.

The Big News: something akin to Mr. MacGregors Garden is now open ,opposite St., Bernard's School. This is the vegetable garden that Gardening Australia needs to know about. Purple cauliflowers, heritage tomatoes- red, yellow and green, all types of different salad greens----all for sale between 7,30-9.30 Tues, Thurs & Sunday com See more at (email hidden)
The location is a 10minute walk down the road from the Tamborine Mountain Retreat!!!

Stay a day or 2, a week or a month, you will not be disappointed!

An amazing place to take some time out from the world and recharge. Waking up to beautiful views is a brilliant start to the day and the fireplace at the end of the day is cozy and relaxing. Well stocked with books and movies, close to lots of cafes and restaurants and lots of glorious places to go for a drive. Definitely worth a second visit!

We enjoyed a fantastic Easter weekend with our family. We spent most of the weekend at the house on the deck enjoying the views and at night we sat around the fireplace. A beautiful place to bring the family and relax.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful, spacious and comfortable and extremely well-equipped. We met with Daryl about an hour after check-in and he was pruning trees on the house during our arrival and welcomed us with a lovely bottle of champagne and lit the fireplace for us which we were grateful for. We had a slight incident at the start but Daryl had sorted it out and was very apologetic. Our crew had a wonderful stay and we were appreciative of Daryl giving us a late check out even though there where more guests due to arrive that day we would definitely return again.

My husbands family stayed here for the weekend of our wedding. The view is absolutely stunning! We had our rehearsal on the lawn out the back and drinks on the deck. Everyone loved the accommodation and we would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking to stay on the mountain.
