5 wonderful days at Villa Beji Indah, staying in Yadistria - we fell in love with the property and were very pleased we picked this for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was like a haven to come back to after exploring Ubud - all the surrounding nature was so peaceful and delightful, even the frogs in our open air bathroom. The staff were all so lovely too - Ani, Wayan, Pelani, and Cythia each breakfast and all the other staff looking after guests and the property. Our room was perfect for us - secluded, cool with options of a/c and/or strong fan, bed was excellent, window seats comfy. Thank you again for a fabulous and very special time for both Sean and myself, kind regards, Bronwyn

The villa was perfect! It's as good as the reviews you read. Green, soothing and peaceful (well save for the owner's burst of frustration because of some technical issue at the pool which we witness on one breakfast morning ). Villa Yudhistira was as pictured, the outdoor shower was its own experience, a few insects of course because of its outdoor setting, if you dont like insects and showering outdoor in the dark just try other villas out of their 10/11 in the property. We started our Christmas and new year holiday in Bali in Ubud for chillaxing and it was what we experienced, a total chill vibe. I'm dreaming of going back to the villa already.. maybe next time the ones with the private pool . Palani, Aniek and the other staff was very helpful and efficient. Thank you for the experience.

If you desire a private retreat with amazing surroundings including a 25 meter pool right in the middle of the nature, this is the place. We stayed at Yudistira and we enjoyed the privacy, the outdoor bathroom and the nice layout. Get a laptop with you and enjoy some live stream TV and movies if you desire. The walk to Ubud is 15 minutes via the Monkey Forrest and the restaurants are great. Recommend the massage near the river, a sunrise hike to Mount Batur and a day trip to temples and rice fields. We came here from Seminyak and after a week of beach clubs this retreat was haven.

This beautiful villa complex is a sanctuary of rest, beauty and healing. The care taken to keep the gardens and rooms lovely and fresh was appreciated. The service was relaxed and very pleasant. The pool was divine, surrounded by the sounds of nature in the jungle and rushing water through the river. We found it hard to leave and want to make this villa our second home. We highly recommend it. Improvements could include better food options, for a better price and fresh. This is besides the breakfasts which were yummy. Offers of fruit platters, pastries and similar during the day as snacks are worth the villa considering. Otherwise it's easy to get to many wonderful eating places nearby. The Elephant restaurant, Sari Organik and Sage restaurant have amazing fresh local organic and vego food so it's not hard to find away from the villa. The spa/ massage experience was great as it was along the river so hearing the water flow was very relaxing. But the price was expensive for what it was we thought. This villa complex had lots of villa options that are each very beautifully designed and cared for. We recommend it as a place to restore, relax and find yourself immersed in nature and your inner peace. It was also lovely to know the owner has a purpose in Bali for helping the community through medicine. The staff say he is humble and a good man. We like to support this kind of work. The villa complex also has loads of meditation spaces and yoga space. It is truly divine and we can't wait to come back. Namaste Jason and Arkellah

The property is truly amazing. It is located in the still quiet neighborhood just south of Ubud (you can go to Ubud centre through the Monkey Forest). You enter a traditional Balinese compound, with lovely strewn bungalows on the hill side towards a river. The grounds and gardens are beautifully arranged and well looked after. Each bungalow has its own style, which is spacious and allows you to be in touch with the grounds, gardens and nature. The team is very attentive and really seeks to make your stay enjoyable. Even though we didn't use the services, you are presented with choices of massages, yoga classes and may take lunch/dinner anywhere on the grounds. The Beji Indah, is a true place for relaxation and a great starting point to discover Ubud and central Bali.

Villa Beji Indah User ProfileVilla Beji Indah is a superhost.

This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.

There are 18 staff who are all from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.

Steve is a leading public health expert and activist having spent the last 30 years working with the Clinton Foundation, Family Health International and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. He has a foundation (a non- profit organization) that provides access to HIV testing and treatment for communities across Indonesia, including Bali. This is a man with a very large heart!
After graduating in the 1960s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in sprawling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river and garden pavilions.

A significant portions of the profits from Villa Beji Indah supports Yayasan Bali Peduli, an HIV NGO founded by Dr.Wignall to provide treatment for people living with the virus. Todate there are 700 people who receive regular services at the 2 clinics run by this foundation.

Our guests have often called this placed 'magical', 'peaceful' and 'amazing'. They have also told us that the pictures don't do any justice to the natural beauty of the actual site.

There are 10 unique suites (in 3 separate villas) on this beautiful property which runs along a lush river valley/ravine. We can house a maximum of 25adults.

It is therefore perfect if you are planning anything from a wedding, a special birthday party, a company retreat, a yoga retreat or family reunions.

This place is rented out as single rooms or as small villas (each of the 3 villas can accommodate about 5 - 10 people.

You can also rent the entire villa if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or retreat.

The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli Foundation (started by Steve and his colleagues) which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.

This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.

The property is currently managed by Steve's friend Yulia and staff members Aniek and Mitha. Depending on the time of your message, you will get an response from either one of us.

Well, if you want anymore information please let us know.
We hope to see you at this beautiful spot!

(Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area. Also we are in the tropics, almost in a forest next to a river - so do expect to hear the symphony of birds and frogs along with geckos and butterflies. If you are not a nature loving person, this property is probably not suitable for you. If you love nature, this is a paradise)
