Lovely! Wonderful, friendly staff and our villa, as well as the rest of the hotel grounds, were beautiful. Also a great location outside the chaos that is central ubud.
I ordered additional pick up service to the Denpasar airport with reasonable price through Villa Beji Indah. It was about 1.5 to 2 hours drive. Me and my friend got a warm welcome from Pak Komang and Mbo Kadek when we arrived, they showed us our villa and surrounding. We stayed in Yudhistira.
I totally love this place...
- the privacy (there is a certain distance between other villas to ensure our privacy which I was looking for)
- the Balinese architecture and furniture
- the tropical park, jungle and river view, the nature sounds (river water, birds, insects). Even though this place is so green and has a lot of plants.. the mosquitos were not an issue because they spray the park with lemon grass extract regularly. This was impressive!
- super awesome outdoor bathroom that makes every single shower a unique experience
- two pools: the small one is nice if you want to enjoy the jungle and river view, but the big one is perfect for workout... I love both
- friendly staff
- clean room and common area
- cheap price for normal laundry
- nice spa place along the river
- Included breakfast. The breakfast was ok especially because it was delivered to our villa daily and we could eat outside in the park.
There are some rooms that possibly to be improved:
- WiFi speed and stability
- Ordered food for dinner. The food was great however it took more than 1 hour to be ready.
- Massage. There was nothing special about the massage itself that cost me 250K IDR for 1 hr (this type of massage cost about 150k in Seminyak) except only for extra ordinary place located along river side. This could be improved.
Additional (Villa Beji Indah could help you to arrange these):
- rent a motorbike, very practical to see around Ubud with motorbike
- hike Mount Agung (1717 m height) in order to enjoy the sunrise
- airport pick-up/ drop to centre of Bali
Thank you for the service during our stay.
I without doubt would like to recommend people to stay in Villa Beji Indah, Ubud.
This was, quite simply, the most relaxing vacation experience of our lives. We were fortunate enough to experience both the Yudhistara Room (perfect romantic getaway site for a couple) and the truly astonishing Arjuna Suite (a huge space with wrap-around vistas of the surrounding trees). Even the brief time we spent here served a beautiful retreat from the bustle of daily life. It is now one of our primary life goals to return for an extended stay.
We were warmly greeted on arrival, and shown around the grounds. The landscaping is first rate, and the way various units are laid out around the site assures that each is both individual and very private. My wife has mobility issues, and from the opening introduction the staff were solicitous, kind, and extremely helpful. Each day began with breakfast served in our quarters or poolside. Again, presentation was accompanied by genuine smiles and concern for our comfort. We really cannot say enough about how they strove to make us feel at home.
While ensconed in Yudhistra, we enjoyed a private back yard overlooking the burbling river at one end of the property. Just steps away was a small infinity pool which was usually uninhabited by anyone but us. A short walk through the lovely grounds was the main pool area (also generally deserted) and a beautifully secluded massage hut, also overhanging the river and its soothing burble.
While here, a minor medical issue forced us to seek care and extend our visit. Again, the staff were exceptional, having us transported to and seen by a wonderful Doctor within the hour. While it was peak season, since Maria could not comfortably travel the staff did virtual backflips to find away to work around arrivals and departures, and moved us to Arjuna. The views from this space made us feel like we were in a big budget movie, and the property included its own pool. Both rooms featured abundant hot water, good air conditioning, excellent wi-fi coverage, and gorgeous outdoor showers. The food (and coffee!) were also excellent. Try the Indonesian breakfast.
We cannot over emphasize just how exceptional the buildings, grounds and people were. The best endorsement I can give is that we are well traveled and generally don't go to the same place twice, but we WILL return here in a heartbeat.
If you wish to stay in a villa larger than Yudhistra, simply inquire. The management is very responsive and will see to your needs.
I only wish I could award six stars.
The villa was exactly as described on Airbnb and we really had a few wonderful days in Ubud. The whole resort is in the middle of a “jungle” with beautiful plants and two nice pools. The service was perfect and the breakfast and snacks very tasty.
Thank you for these great days.
Beautiful setting; well maintained landscaping. Very quiet. Very good service. In a relatively quiet neighborhood near Ubud. Good restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended.
We stayed here for 3 nights and we heart this place! The entire estate is located in a tranquile valley, yet with walking distance to Ubud center through the monkey forest. Having breakfast in our own courtyard surrounded by numerous trees and cascading sound of the creek was our favorite part. We will def come back when we visit Ubud again.

About the Host, Private Suites In A River Valley Estate
This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.
As Steve travels constantly, he has enlisted his friends and his staff members Komang and Kadek to host your visits.
Komang, Kadek and the rest of the staff are from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.
Steve is currently an advisor to the Clinton Health Access initiative, and is one of the leading experts on HIV in Indonesia who has been working on prevention and so forth here for decades. After graduating in the 60s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in extensive, rambling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river, garden pavilions, one of which is often used for Yoga retreats, weddings, fundraising dinners and other gatherings.
A sanctuary of peace and abundant natural beauty. There are nine unique suites on this beautiful garden estate which runs along a lush river valley/ravine, with a 25 meter lap pool and two shared pavilions. The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli foundation which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.
This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.
Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area!
