Ashu was a great host. She was easily accessible and could always be reached. She is very nice. The house is absolutely beautiful. However, there was an issue with the community. We were not aware that we would be staying in a predominantly Muslim development. We are not against any religion and embrace all. However, every morning at 5:20am, then 5:30am, 6:30am and so on. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP. the speakers went off extremely loud. The home is across the street from the mosque. Please be aware that the mosque is the first building on the right when you enter the development. We also had issues with people watching the house. The guard would also not allow our taxi/uber drivers in to pick us up or drop us off at times and we would have to walk to the gate. Upon leaving Nairobi for the airport, the guard turned our uber driver away, almost costing us to miss our flight. We had to call the driver back after I walked to the gate. All the men were looking at me. It was very frustrating and uncomfortable. The cleric even came out to speak to my cousin and proceed to ask him questions. It was extremely uncomfortable for us that the community clearly did not want us there. We were told we were loud on the first night(we came in late from the airport), so we tried to be respectful the rest of the time there. There was also a lack of essentials such as paper towel or enough tissue in the home. The sheet in the master bedroom was filthy and had hair on it, so I requested for it to be replaced the first night. Even though we had those negative issues, Ashu is very nice, but please be aware of the community. Thanks Ashu for your hospitality.
Ashu was great! Extermely responsive and easy to work with! She was a fantastic planning host. I was a little unimpressed by her son Ali. Although Ali was very friendly, he was a tad bit unprofessional. Certainly didnt take away from the experience as a whole and he really was a very kind. The other thing that was somewhat misleading, is that I didnt know that Ali was staying on the property. We heard noises one night and realized it was him going into his seperate living quarters off to the side of the house. It would have been helpful to know that in advance. The house if VERY big just as described. One bathroom had terrible shower pressure and the 3rd shower head was broken. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is EXTREMELY safe! I love that it is a gated community. That was certainly a plus. The last and most concerning thing was the Mosque that was a few doors down. At 5am EVERY morning their was prayer. It was very loud and very disturbing. We didnt get much information on this in advance and it would have been nice to know.
Overall I would recommmend this house to a large group. It was extremley cost efficient and really a great deal. Ashu again was wonderful and very pleasant. Also the house is located in a great place. Close to the airport. Easy access to all areas that we wanted to visit!
Thanks for the experience Ashu and Ali!
Ashu's house is very comfortable. We had some difficulties finding it and the communication wasn't very good. The house is placed in an estate off and not exactly on Popo road. The neighborhood feels safe, and once you know where it is, it's quite easy to get to. Extremely good internet connection and Ali is a good host, friendly and helpful.
I had to do something for work so was unable to meet up with Ashu. However, my husband and kids met her and felt very welcome. The area in which the house is located is very nice. One thing that needs to be pushed to the forefront is that the house is very near the airport. This is not a bad thing. On the contrary it is, to me, another selling factor for someone who would like to travel far from the airport and it's surroundings.
I would come back and stay at this residence again with no problem. Keep up the good work.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Awesome.... I will love to stay there over and over again. Cool environment, secured and the owner is just amazing.
Nice place to stay. ..good and secured environment. .The host is always prompt to requests and very helpful.
A few years ago, I came to the United States to pursue my education and eventually decided to make it my home. I work and live here with my little boy. Am a United States Army Officer and love my job dearly. One of the best things about my job is the traveling. This means I have stayed in different types/kinds of facilities that offer room and board. Which is why I've decided to do this. Hopefully, I would love to make sure that everyones needs and stay at my facility will be enjoyable and memorable enough to make you and your family and friends come back.
