Located in the charming village of Point Richmond, this one bedroom apartment in a home has been lovingly updated and furnished - new photos forthcoming. Walk out the door and be on SF Bay. Romantique!
Every window in this southern facing apartment offers unobstructed sunrise to sunset, breathtaking bay views - from the Berkeley Hills to Mount Tamalpais in Marin County. In between you have an unparalleled view of San Francisco, the new Bay Bridge, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin Headlands.
You have a nice HDTV, access to a private beach, a million dollar view from every seat in the house, great books on the shelf, original artwork and fresh flowers.
A perfect solo or couple getaway, however this is not a good place for infants nor children under 16, with lots of steps and a wooden railing above the waterline, plus a slippery seawall luring little feet too close to the bay.
Lots of outdoor areas to linger, including an exterior living room and deck - perfect for dining over the surf at high tide. Just a few steps to the beach, with tidepools and coves to explore. Perfect spot for adventurous kayakers (must bring your own or rent them in nearby Marin County - a 10 minute drive.
Standard kitchen necessities are at your disposal.
Plush, new w/w carpet and doublepane windows, fresh paint, and all new furnishings, including pillowtop queen mattress and custom built-in window seat, high-quality linens and towels, coupled with mid-century original (and perfectly functioning) appliances, make this a charming and still luxurious vacation spot.
The Beach House is 5 minutes off the 580 and Richmond Bridge, though with our 'over-the-hill' bayfront location, all you hear are crashing waves, seabirds and the occasional fog horn. Ample street parking. You have a private, lit walkway and secure access. This is part of a house with a shared hallway before your private entrance. The apartment has a separate interior lock for added privacy.
Interaction with Guests
I'll greet you upon arrival and make sure you have what you need for a restful getaway. If you're a local Bay Area city or mountain dweller (like me), consider this spot for a regular beach getaway, without the cost of the airfare!
Very quiet residential neighborhood filled with unique homes and creative folk. The area abuts the bay in the back and open space in the front. We are located at the end of a cul de sac with no houses on other side of the street. A real retreat.
Since we are in a residential area, it is wise to have a car to get to the wonderful places, radiating in all directions. When you want to stay close to home, you can walk through the rambling neighborhoods to the historic village of Point Richmond for coffee, great restaurants, live theater, a gourmet grocery shop, post office and even a natatorium (public swimming house). BART is a short cab ride away, as is the Larkspur Ferry to San Francisco. Berkeley is a 5 minute drive, Oakland 15 minutes and the city is about a 20 minute drive. You can walk to the bus stop near the freeway in 10 minutes to go anywhere in the Bay Area, as well.

It's a quiet and friendly environment. Adults only, no pets, no smoking on property. Must be quiet on the path to and from the house between the hours of 11pm - 7am, as it wakes my upstairs neighbor. It would be appreciated, if possible, to not shower in that quiet time, too.
We spent a relaxing week in this private space that was just as described. It's the kind of place that makes you wish you lived there. The views are great from both rooms and spectacular from the decks. The 180° + view includes (traveling from west to east) the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and the Bay Bridge. As usual, the weather in the East Bay was better than that of SF -- we could see the fog rolling in but it didn't come our way. Suzanna was available to address any concerns. Point Richmond is a charming community with several good restaurants and at least two reasonably priced markets. I'm sure we'll stay there in the future!
Thanks for your thoughtful message, Susan. The sun has set, the tide is lower than I've seen in six months, and the new moon is rising over the Marin headlands as I write this. The hourlong sunset is spectacular. Where is my wine? Delilah is breathless and soaking wet from our recent outing and splashing in the mud and muck of the bay.
It pains me to say it, but you and your husband were the last AirBnB guests to stay at the Beach House. The landlord has asked that I vacate and so I will be leaving my little sanctuary with a VERY heavy heart, and moving one street up, into a sweet little two bedroom that I will share with a wonderful art teacher and fellow kayaker. However, I will still have access to the beach and the 'hood, which I hope never to leave.
My best to you both! Happy Holidays! Suzanna
Beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Suzanna met us when we arrived and was a very friendly, open, welcoming person. She is easily available to answer questions by phone, too. We loved this spot, with 2 patios, one with glass to protect you if it's
windy and has two comfortable couches, and the other right down on the water. She left flowers, and foodstuffs for our use if needed. The view is outstanding! We loved the breeze off the bay, and the colorful (website hidden) was very quiet, which we wanted for our retreat. I took some enjoyable walks, a bit strenuous in a few cases, because of the impressive hills. Lots of architecturally interesting houses.
We enjoyed watching tankers coming in under the Gate and docking. I had a sea lion visitor! The bed is very comfortable, with a view of the city from the bed. All in all, a wonderful experience. Thanks, Suzanna!
From my first interaction with Suzanna via email, I felt welcomed and accommodated. Upon arrival the place was exactly as described. The instructions she gave us were precise and it was an easy process getting into the unit, even though I arrived very late. The neighborhood is safe and quaint, and very private. The unit overlooks the water, and both the Golden Gate and Oakland bridges are clearly visible from every window in the place; and it’s a very pleasant site first thing in the morning. Conveniently located about 40 minutes from either San Francisco or Napa, this is a perfect place for anyone looking to take in the best of northern California. As an AT&T customer, I had some issues with cell phone reception, but Verizon works fine. Same thing with the WiFi…it was slow on my device, but lightning fast on my travel companion’s device. Neither of these things are the host’s fault. I would highly recommend this place! Thanks, Suzanna!
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
It's a nice small apartment, everything was as described with a good view of the bay from two patios. Point Richmond is a fairly low-key, small town with a decent Thai restaurant. This is a good location if you intend to explore Sonoma/Napa and north.
The space was wonderful with incredible views and multiple locations to sit and enjoy. The accommodations were comfortable and just right for a quiet retreat.
Suzanne was friendly and communicative and went above and beyond to be accommodating. Even when there was a misunderstanding, Suzanne did her best to minimize an unfortunate situation.

An East Coast native, I've been in California for 20+ years and love the relaxed and active outdoor lifestyle the Bay Area provides. I enjoy meeting new people and have had some great experiences by visiting other airbnb listings.
