I clean between renters, but not during your stay. Renters who stay longer than a week are responsible for periodic cleaning. I am happy to arrange weekly cleaning for you if you prefer. Just let me know.
Sarah was a gracious host. Everything "last minute" was provided: coffee, shampoo. The bed was comfortable and the access through the garage appreciated. Others have mentioned noise from above. It was there, but ordinary human noise and didn't bother us.
I stayed in this studio for 3 months, during my visiting period at UC Berkeley. Location is pretty good: North Berkeley Bart station is less than 15 minutes away on foot, and the campus is about half an hour away. Right in front of the house there's a really convenient bus stop to get to campus faster if you don't want to walk. The apartment is very comfortable, it's small but it feels homey. I loved the bed, the shower, and the possibility to use the washing machine and the dryer at any time independently. The neighborhood is safe and quiet.
Last but not least, Sarah John and Willa are absolutely great. They're very friendly, welcoming, and helpful in case of necessity, without ever intruding the privacy of the guest. Having such landlords is always a big plus.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation.
Vielen Dank!
When you arrive at the house, you will wonder if you are sneaking into someone’s back yard, but just continue forward then make a left loop and you’ll be at the basement door. The hosts were very nice and helpful; They even took me out for Pizza. The room was as described and met expectations. I would recommend it.
I really enjoyed my stay here! I lived here for 2 months while working in San Francisco for the summer. My number one priority when I was searching for accommodations was being in a beautiful space and having privacy. This place gave me just that though I always felt comfortable with reaching out to Sarah if I needed anything.
I loved the craftsmanship throughout the space (the bathroom is as beautiful as the pictures suggests + good water pressure). Bed was really comfortable too.
The house is a 20 minute walk (15 minutes if you walk fast) to the North Berkeley Bart station and 30 minutes from downtown which is fine because it's flat the whole way. Great neighborhood if you bike.
I loved Sarah's studio. It is modern, efficient and simple, in the best possible way. The garden is gorgeous and welcoming. The neighborhood is perfect for a Berkeley/Oakland visit. I highly recommend it.
