About This Listing
Superb house right in a heart of old Dublin. Central location just 5 min from the Guinness Hopstore and no more than 12 min from Christchurch. Puts you into the heart of this great city right away.
All mod cons, yet brimming with character!
A three story house in the heart of a residential area in 'Auld' Dublin City Centre making it a unique space to base yourself for sightseeing in Dublin.
The space will comfortably fit three individuals in the three double bedrooms. It could fit up to three couples with a squeeze - bedrooms are smallish so be warned! One of the bedrooms is probably best allocated to a single person as it is a small double bed. The others are standard size.
The ground floor is open plan, consisting of two living areas, a galley kitchen and a bathroom.
There are three bedrooms - one of which is a converted attic space . All three bedrooms have double beds (attic bedroom has a futon bed). Plenty of wardrobe space in each bedroom.
Typical of this style of home, the bathroom is downstairs, off the kitchen, and consists of a shower, toilet and handbasin.
Small patio to the back of the house - can be a little suntrap if in Dublin at the right time of year!
What else to expect?
Fully controllable heating
Flat Screen TV
Full inventry of cooking equipment
Washing Machine (Tablets provided)
Fridge (with bread, milk and eggs supplied!)
Iron and Ironing Board
Sofa and armchair
Off-street parking (pay and display)

Interaction with Guests
We live three miles from the house and work in City Centre so are always close by. We are delighted to help all our guests with advice, foodie recommendations and anything else. We are happy to swing by or discuss things by phone. We are also aware that some people enjoy their privacy and so just holler if you need us!
The Liberties, where our 'Auld Dublin' home is, has been home to literati like Jonathan Swift and singers such as Imelda May. Two Oscar winners call this area home - Brenda Fricker and Jeremy Irons own houses just around the corner from us. There's a vibrant art and antique scene around the Liberties. It has a lovely quirky feel with plenty of charity shops, markets and art gallerys. I love it!
Just 5 minutes or less walking from the house:
National College of Art and Design (NCAD)
The Guinness HopStore
Vicar Street - well known intimate concert venue - check out whats on - (website hidden)
Saturday local shopping on Meath Street - a must to get the 'auld' Dublin experience!
Francis Street, a hub for antique and art shops
Some of our favourite old 'off the beaten track' Dublin pubs, including Fallons and Arthurs are less than a 5 minute walk away.
10 minutes or less walking from the house
St Patricks Cathedral
Dont miss coffee and cake in the local cafes - particularly renowned are the Bite of Life (get take away and people watch in the park of St Patricks Cathedral) and Fumbally (for the most delicious cakes ever!!).
15 minutes walk from the house:
Dublin City Centre, Temple Bar, Grafton Street, Dublin Castle, Trinity College Dublin, The Jameson Distillery, O'Connell Street and the Spire, IMMA, The National Gallery, History Museum, and Government Buildings, Stephens Green and Phoenix Park.
The airport bus, the 747, stops at Christchurch, no more than a 10 minute walk from our house. You can buy bus tickets for this service online or at the airport. A taxi from the airport will cost you about 25-35 euro.
There is lots of public transport nearby. However you are within walking distance of pretty much everything and so shouldn't really need to use public transport. Umbrellas are supplied so that rain wont deter walking!
All national train/bus links are within walking distance if you want to visit suburbs or venture out of Dublin.
We ask that when you leave, it is much as you found it and please write in the visitors book.
There is no smoking policy in the house, but you are welcome to smoke on the patio.
From Mar 1 - May 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
When my family arrived Aoife had her friend meet us there to give us a tour of the house and answer any of our questions. Our stay there was great. It was a close walk to many of the popular places in Dublin (Brazen Head, Temple bar, etc). Whenever I had a question I would message her and she would promptly answer my questions. I highly recommend Aoife!
Aoife was kind and come to welcomed us late in the evening. The apartment is very welcoming, functional, well located and calm.
To do again anytime!!!
Nice place to stay... close to the city centre. Would stay again.
Aoife was a fantastic host along with her husband Dave. He met us with their eldest boy and showed us around. She visited us once. We exchanged some messages as required. No stress at all. The house was in a central location. It was a short walk to the Liffey, Trinity College, Dublin Castle and Temple Bar (5-10 minutes). It is a REAL neighborhood with good local shopping. The butchers' especially are fantastic. There is a Tesco on Thomas Street approx 5 minutes walk. It has everything you need including fruit, veg and alcohol. The house was well stocked with excellent cooking utensils and crockery. The heating worked effectively which is important in winter. The bedrooms reflect the pictures. The kitchen, lounge room and dining room are linked making a good size for daily living. The loft bedroom up a spiral staircase is particularly attractive to teenagers. You can get rid of them for days up there. Overall, we give a top recommendation to Aoife's house and family!!
Nice apartment in good location, 20 minutes walk to Dublin center.
We did'nt meet Aoife but we wrote on whatsapp for any information. We had very good time there.
Everything went smoothly! Aofie was very helpful and responsive leading up to and throughout the trip. The apartment was perfect for our party of 4. The neighborhood wasn't exactly in the middle of everything, but most things were a short cab ride or walk away. Overall a great place to stay and a great host.
The reservation was canceled 205 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
