This is a beautiful and tranquil jewel in Tortuguero, Costa Rica and I'm listing it for my friend Rey.
Taylor's Place offers lodging and a beautiful garden-restaurant surrounded by lush tropical flowers and plants. Amazing atmosphere, very romantic
ROOM #2 with AIR CONDITIONING
The place is very private and quiet as it is a bit away from the hustle of Tortuguero’s Main Street and it's Caribbean nightlife and loud music. However, the beach and park entrance are close by and so are all other attractions.
The room offered has a small ensuite bathroom with hot shower, fan and Air Conditioning. The room offered here sleeps 2 comfortably (full bed) or 3 (second bed is a single), but bigger parties could rent all 2 rooms and it would be like staying at your own place.
Simply put, it's a beautiful place and you will be happy to have stayed at Taylor’s Place!
Guests are welcome to spend time in the Tropical Garden, great for bird watching and enjoy the hammocks and outdoor sitting areas.
The beach is only a short stroll away and so is the center of Tortuguero Village.
Interaction with Guests
That is up to you: entirely.
We respect the space and silence, but are also happy if you join (email hidden) and restaurant.
The short list of thing to do and tours to do include the Canoe Tour through the waterways of the Tortuguero National Park, a guided or explore on your own Kayak Tour, a guided nighttime Turtle Walk and for those up to it some Sportfishing out on the ocean.
Rey can help you get these set up, but there are also many places in town where you can
Arrival is usually by boat from La Pavona, this can be done with public transportation or via direct shuttle service from San Jose. Time permitting you will be picked up at the dock.
You might also fly in from San Jose, check the net for last minute specials.
Other Things to Note
While Taylor's Place does not offer Breakfast service, we are happy to coordinate breakfast with a nearby hostel. Please ask us if interested.
Very nice place to stay... Very good cousine, rey prepared us a perfect redsnapper... Very friendly and clean...
Unfortunately we arrived in very soggy weather and the path to Taylor's was flooded and the restaurant and bar closed but we did have a great two days in Tortuguero. An excellent guide, Rodrigo, showed us the way and arranged forest trips. We also had problems with the key & loo which were sorted by a friendly lady neighbour. Good location with sounds of the sea and forest.
If you are going to Tortuguero, this is the place to stay. Wonderful little private area with Hammocks and cute rooms. Rosalinda brought us fresh Coconut water to try as well (Ray's Mother). Ray was our Host and was a really cool guy. The only neg thing I could say is that the Internet didn't work in the room; but worked fine in the Restaurant area. Also, be prepared to carry your luggage through water covered Roads. The tourist Office workers helped us though. Overall I give it an A+ Rating!
Very private, secure, and pleasant accommodations. Alexandra does not stay on the property and is instead run and looked over by a guy named Ray and his mother Roselina. Those two are gems! Roselina greeted us when she arrived and reminded me of my grandmother. Ray made sure you have everything you needed. Not to mention, Ray is also a chef and his restaurant, which is in the garden of the property, is the best restaurant in Tortuguero. We ate there two nights in a row and it was incredible each time. Also, they are known for their Pina Coladas.
Accommodations were standard, nothing fancy, but very clean, comfortable, and safe. The hot water worked! The wifi was hit or miss. The location is just off the main road in Tortuguero near the National Park. Quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a short or long stay in Tortuguero. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again!
Just amazing ! We were at Ray's place for one night only because of the schedule but we would have spent much more time otherwise ! The place was amazing , clean cosy well located. Ray was so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant ... So good ! Really good memories ! If you go to Tortuguero you shouldn t stay elsewhere but Ray s place.

Love to read, enjoy the days as they come. Every now and then a stray comes along - some have stayed, while other cats and dogs have found new homes, so there is always some assortment of 4 legged friends around.
I have started to add a couple of additional listings from very good friends and I do vouch for each of the listings added. I hope that these listings can round out a trip to Costa Rica!
