In the heart of historic Selcuk, close to Ephesus, Serenity Cottage is a stone built cottage ideal for a romantic break or for those in search of luxury and relaxation.
Serenity Cottage is a 2 minute stroll to one of the Seven Wonders of the World (The Artemis Temple) and within walking distance to Ephesus. It is a short distance from the coast and 8km to the famous wine making village, Sirince. Situated within its own grounds Serenity Cottage is a peaceful retreat ideal for couples or a small family.
Serenity Cottage incorporates Western design whilst respecting Turkish architecture and landscape. The interior is comprised of two double en suite bedrooms and a large open plan living area with vaulted ceiling. The spacious roof terrace is ideal for relaxation and provides stunning views of this historic place.
The main town of Selcuk is just a 5 minute walk from Serenity, where you'll find a variety of restaurants and cafes, there are also regular buses ( in Turkish called dolmuş ( said: dolmush) to places around selçuk.
Some of our favorite places to visit are the Selçuk market; which is in Selçuk every Saturday and Wednesday selling a variety of goods: fruit & veg, clothes, household products, chickens, plants and knickknacks.
The Hammam: is a Turkish bath House where you can go to relax and unwind, experience a Turkish scrub & massage, or just enjoy lounging on the hot stone. The Hammam is mixed with both men and women for most of the week then on Fridays 12:00 until 16:00 it's ladies only.
Pamucak Beach: is a favorite spot to take a picnic and is particularly beautiful at sunset, if you’re feeling adventurous you can trek across the beach on horseback or hire a quad bike.
Guests will have private access to the house and grounds.

We loved staying at the Cottage! It was quiet, safe and private... yet close to the city centre. The rooftop terrace was an excellent place to relax outdoors and enjoy the view. The 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms worked well for us as 2 couples travelling together. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped for cooking and dining. The living area was comfortable and spacious. November evenings were chilly but the cottage was cozy and warm. Our host Menekse was very welcoming... leaving tea and cookies... helping us with travel arrangements. Water pressure and temperature were always good... WIFI always available. Highly recommend this property.
We had a wonderful stay at Serenity Cottage. The interior design felt better than the pictures. This is a place you can relax after a long day in Ephesus. The roof top terrace is a plus.
We were going to stay in Izmir and take some trips from there, but widening our search on AirBNB, we found this gorgeous cottage and thought it must be too good to be true! It wasn't. It is just as pictured. Mene sent excellent instructions to find her right in the center of town, then she took us directly to the cottage, which is on a quiet residential street. The pictures do it justice - it is just as lovely when you walk in. It is serene, beautifully updated with a comfortable living room, which was perfect for a vacation with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Bedrooms are separated by bathrooms, so enough privacy for larger group. We never ran out of hot water. Lovely little kitchen for eating in, with beautiful sitting areas and a deck for eating outside. Logistically, it's a short walk to local sites: Aphrodisia pillar is 10 minutes & Ephesus is 15-20 minutes. Great location for a day trip to Pamukkale, Bergama or Sirince, a local "Greek" village famous for cherry wine. Easy 5 minutes to town for breakfast and return to either take a day trip, go to the beach or the ruins. Mene made herself available if we needed her, and gave good overview of local eateries and outings. If you can get this cottage: RENT IT! It is perfect, absolutely no hesitation. Local note: Please visit the rug museum/cooperative on the next street, an educational treat.
Serenity Cottage was absolutely amazing and Menescke was wonderful!! We can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it for any stay in Selcuk. Menescke was so helpful and met us at the bus station late at night after the bus was delayed over an hour. We were so happy to see her. The cottage and the garden are spectacular; comfortable, clean, and have everything you need. I am still dreaming about that lovely garden. The cottage was close to everything yet still quiet and safe. A PERFECT place to stay in Selcuk!!
We greatly enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly, easy to communicate with and very helpful. When we arrived she gave us a good overview over the historic sites, beaches and other things to know in Selcuk.
The cottage is an old building that was restored with taste. Everything functioned as advertised. We stayed for a week in August and were happy to have the air condition.
The terrace with the great view over the castle is a nice place for breakfast.
Selcuk is mildly touristic and not overcrowded. Everything in town can be reached by walking. The cottage is also in close walking distance to some of the major historic sites.
Our stay was a very pleasant experience and we certainly recommend the cottage and Ephesus Rentals.
Central and clean cottage. Walking distance to town and a large bus terminal that can take you to all the sites. Host is friendly and very informative. Would definitely recommend!
Staying in Selcuk has many advantages. Not only proximity to the sites but also to experience a Turkish community. Serenity Cottage was a great home for our stay. We walked to St. John's Church and found good meal options. The pictures are accurate. We made good use of the garden terrace and the rooftop terrace. Ben and Jess were helpful and the cottage had everything we needed.
