Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Private and sole use of the upper two floors of my cottage in the heart of Newlyn, overlooking the harbour and within walking distance of village amenities. Light and spacious living room on the top floor has views across the harbour and Mount’s Bay to St Michael’s Mount. On the ground floor: sole use of the kitchen diner, shower room and pleasant bedroom with a standard double bed.

From March 2026, the house is on the market and has a For Sale sign outside.

The space
The rooms are clutter-free but contain some personal belongings such as artwork, books, CDs and records, which you can of course make use of. There is a TV and DVD player. Also a sound system with amplifier, turntable, CD player, connection point for ipad/ iphone and headphones. Ultra fast WiFi and a number of tables suitable for working on.
Your private bathroom includes, sink, WC and shower but no bathtub.

Guest access
Guests can access all parts of their two floors, except for a small recessed landing which is above a trap door to the lower ground floor and therefore roped off for safety.
There are no shared spaces between guests and myself and we have separate entrances.

Other things to note
There is a bus stop very nearby and many taxi firms in the area. There is no parking at the property but there are public car parks and some street parking options nearby - click the show more link in the Neighbourhood highlights > “Where you’ll be” section for more details.

The house is about 10 minutes walk from Newlyn School of Art, should you be taking a course there.

Like many residential neighbourhoods, there are dogs in some nearby properties so you may hear some barking occasionally or encounter them when walking nearby.

Neighborhood highlights

Boase Street is in the oldest part of Newlyn, an almost traffic free narrow street winding down to the harbour. It is a residential neighbourhood where the houses are close together; there can be some sound from people walking by, dogs or seagulls during the day. Newlyn is a thriving, bustling village, home to a large commercial fishing fleet. Artistic focal points include the Newlyn Art Gallery, Newlyn School of Art and a modern cinema with a great café. There are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, the nearest pub is less than a minute to stroll to.

Next door Penzance has a lot to offer too, including the art deco Jubilee Pool, Morrab Gardens and Penlee Museum. West Cornwall has something for everyone: from beautiful beaches and cliff walks to vast, unspoiled moors scattered with ancient quoits and prehistoric sites. Not to mention the sea which surrounds us and gives us so much. Nothing beats being out in the open breathing in the clean air straight off the Atlantic.

Over time, I’ve drifted west and am now in the far West of England, very near where the land runs out. I feel very lucky to be in such a beautiful and rewarding place. I started being an Airbnb host in the summer of 2018. I’ve enjoyed meeting interesting people who I wouldn’t otherwise have met and have found it so heart warming to have guests enjoy being here too. The most satisfying feedback is that people feel at home. Looking forward to sharing my home with anyone who drifts through. When I’m not working you will mostly find me on or in the water!
