LISTED AIRBNB TOP 40 ALL OVER THE WORLD !
Private studio (11sqm) on a 100yrs old houseboat right under the Eiffel Tower, on an outstanding pedestrian pier (Port de Suffren, World Heritage of Unesco). Central, yet very quiet and safe.
The owners of the houseboat also live there, but the two flats are perfectly independant.
The place is not huge (remember, you are on a boat!), but so romantic and cosy, it is like a little love nest on the river.
So what you have ALL FOR YOU is : a private entrance and private deck with table and chairs (perfect for a lunch or a drink outside !), a studio on two levels with a private bathroom (bathtub and shower, with a panoramic view!) and private toilets. "Bunk bed" 120x200, smaller than a regular double but will perfectly suit a couple. Sofa, chairs and tables, Nespresso, TV, WIFI, ipod station. The studio is well heated so comfortable even in winter. Breakfeast equipment, fridge. Extraordinary view (360 °) on the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and monuments.
Private parking (10 €).
Just near by (5/10 minutes walk) : Eiffel Tower, Champs de Mars, Musee du Quai Branly, Trocadéro, Statue of Liberty, Museum of Modern Art, Palais de Tokyo, Grand Palais, weekly farmer markets.
And all Paris at walking distance!
BRAND NEW : IN JUNE 2013, AN AMAZING PEDESTRIAN PATH ("VOIES SUR BERGE") WAS LAUNCHED ON PARIS LEFT BANK, WITH PLENTY OF ACTIVITIES AND CAFES. AND THE BOAT IS RIGHT AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE PATH !!!!!!!! INCREDIBLY NICE FOR AN EVENING STROLL, A MORNING JOG OR A BIKE RIDE THAT WILL TAKE OU ALL THE WAY TO MUSEE D'ORSAY OR LE LOUVRE.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Beautiful space on maybe the best location Paris has to offer. Helene is a great host and the boat is both gorgious and on the ideal location to end and start your day.
Sidenote; Space is limited so if you're tall you might have to conquer some minor challenges. Getting in bath, bed and the toilet ;).
Four stars for the best possible use and location of this beautiful space!
What a charming boat and the location is the BEST in PARIS! I stayed on Helene's boat for 11 nights recently in order to participate in the Paris Marathon, and I traveled over to Paris by myself with my husband and son rooting for me from home. The boat was easy to find, and even with me being alone with all of my luggage it was an easy trip on the train from the Airport. Because her houseboat is so centrally located and in SUCH an ideal and safe tourist haven neighborhood, I never felt at all hesitant about taking walks even if it was 10PM at night by myself. There are plenty of cafe's within a minute or two walk, and even a Franprix (Supermarket) about 6 minutes walking which is open until 10PM . Helene had a refrigerator in my unit and I utilized that quite regularly with fresh vegetables and cheese and cream for my espresso. Oh, yes, she had an espresso maker also which I used multiple times per day for both coffee and just to dispense hot water for my tea. The bathtub is useful and well suited for the space and I used that just about every day also! Helene was always available to answer any questions, yet she never was intrusive. Any questions I had or she had we would e-mail back and forth, even though she lived on the boat, the next plank down. The boat was set up perfectly for privacy, but since I was traveling alone it was also nice to know that there was someone informally looking out for me and expecting to hear me around the place daily. I will be staying here again!
Great location near metro and RER trains. Lovely view of the river and bridge. The bakery Helene recommends in her info book is certainly worth visiting. The bed is very comfortable and the boat is cosy/homely (but certainly big enough for two). Although I did not meet Helene her communication and instructions were excellent throughout my stay.
Helene could not have been more accommodating or helpful on our wonderful trip to Paris. My boyfriend proposed to me the first night we were in Paris at the Eiffel tower. The night after he proposed to me, we had been telling our friends and family as well as taking pictures of ourselves on the Seine. Chris was on the boat enjoying the gentle swaying back and forth, but I needed to sit on the concrete for a second because I was feeling dizzy. When I got up to dust myself off, the ring fell right off my finger into the Seine, right next to the houseboat. Needless to say, I was in shock and very upset. We had just told Helene the story of our engagement, and we knew that she was on her side of the boat, so we went and got her to help. I was pretty much unable to speak since I was so upset, so Chris had to communicate with her. She went down the street to look for a metal detector, but then realized that it wouldn't work on white gold (while she was gone Chris went into the Seine to look for it, but immediately got out because it was 4 degrees celsius). She called the fire department for us and they were there in no time. She communicated with them on our behalf since we weren't the most fluent in the French language. After a couple of hours that consisted of 2 scuba divers and 6 firemen, we had no luck. They promised us that they would come back the next morning around 10am. That night, we continued rubbing mud through our hands that was scooped out onto the pavement. No luck and it was a pretty restless night. We had promised each other that regardless of whether or not we found the ring, that we would still have the best time of our lives (good thing he had insurance!). The next morning they came back, but went to play soccer for a couple of hours before returning. When they did, Helene was there to help. After another 2 hours, 2 scuba divers, 8 firemen, 8 trainees, and about 20 scoops of mud onto the pavement, we found the ring!!! We could not be more grateful for Helene's help and the perseverance of the French firemen. We celebrated by having a bottle of champagne (compliments of Helene) with the firemen. Needless to say, we will never forget this magical trip. We can't wait to come back!!! Highly recommended!
It was a unique experience to enjoy Paris on the Seine within steps of the Eiffel Tower! While I was in Paris I proposed to my girlfriend and Helene's houseboat added to the adventure. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a romantic hideaway or a little adventure!
Fantastic experience staying on a houseboat, it was cosy and had everything one needed in one area. The location of the boathouse is very close to the Eiffel Tower and restaurants and the cafe culture. The public transport is nearby which makes it ideal location too. I recommend the dinning on a river cruiser - we managed to catch one and it was a great experince and excellent meal. I strongly recommend staying in a houseboat in Paris as it naturally very romantic!
Awesome and unique place to stay!!!
One of the coolest travel experiences we've had. The boat is incredibly easy to get to right off of a major RER stop, which made getting to and from places incredibly easy.
The boat itself it wonderful, pristine as the pictures. Views of the Eiffel Tower from the tub were hilarious as they were inspiring, if you dared to leave the blinds open a tad. Here, you really feel like you are having a unique, Parisian experience.
The bed (which isn't pictured) is in a nook behind the fireplace and is very cozy as you are rocked to sleep by waves on the river. We literally couldn't leave- we extended our stay by two nights! And Helene was more than willing to accommodate our schedule.
If you want a unique, fun, and incredibly enjoyable stay in Paris, look no further.
The host was responsive and friendly. The houseboat is tiny, but in a great location. Make sure you don't take a long shower--we ran out of hot water several days. Overall--we loved to houseboat and highly recommend it. Paris is a great City, even in December!
