Welcome to Historic Meets Hip, a modern retreat in the basement of a fully renovated 100-year-old American Foursquare near Battery Park. This stylish 1-bed, 1-bath apartment features a cozy living room, dining area, and kitchenette with a mini fridge and coffee maker, plus a 55" 4K Smart TV. Just 5 minutes from downtown Richmond, with easy access to I-95 and I-64, you'll enjoy a private side entrance with a smart lock. Battery Park, with its pool, tennis, and basketball courts, is steps away.

The space
Our home is a charming 1920's American Foursquare. While we reside upstairs, you'll enjoy complete privacy in our fully furnished, cozy basement guest suite with its own private side entrance. The suite features a separate bedroom with a queen bed, and an optional queen-size air mattress in the living room, comfortably accommodating up to three guests. Located on a quiet, friendly block, our home is within walking distance of a lovely neighborhood park—perfect for a relaxing stroll or outdoor activities.

Guest access
You'll have exclusive access to the entire basement apartment, which includes a cozy bedroom, bathroom, spacious living room, dining area, and a well-equipped kitchenette featuring a microwave, mini fridge, sink, coffee maker, and all the essentials for light meal prep. Additionally, you'll enjoy the convenience of a private laundry room, reserved solely for our guests. This comfortable space is designed to make your stay as relaxed and self-sufficient as possible.

Other things to note
We are one of the few legally permitted short-term rentals in Richmond (Permit # STR-141858-2024).

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood is experiencing rapid revitalization with many homes being completely or in the process of being renovated. We have a great mix of residents that have lived in the neighborhood for many years as well as new families with young kids, and people like us who moved from the suburbs to get to the city. While being central to everything and close to downtown, homes in our neighborhood have large front porches which promote a friendly neighborhood vibe. This despite us being a block off of a main thoroughfare into the city.

I am a people person that loves meeting new people, hanging with friends and family, traveling, board games, dogs and cats, and skiing among many other things.
