The space

This is a romantic retreat for COUPLES ONLY.
We are not PET friendly due to guests that may have pet allergies and due to the high decks we are not KID friendly.

Our romantic little house in the trees is designed with our guests’ comfort in mind. It sleeps 2 people. There is a beautiful king-size custom built bed with a Rainbow Poplar live edge headboard. We chose to dress our Tuft & Needle mattress with soft comfy cotton linens and soft blankets. The white flowing drapery surrounding the sleeping area makes this a dreamy and romantic space. Hanging over the bed is a stunning vintage crystal chandelier. If you happen to catch the sun streaming in the upper windows just right in the morning or late afternoon, you may see a beautiful show of rainbow prisms cast by the crystals dancing all over the room. The french door from the sleeping area leads out to a west facing deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings in the treetops on a pretty little bistro set.

Inside the cozy sitting area has a small dining table for 2 and small loveseat for relaxing and kicking your feet up.

The KITCHENETTE has a mini fridge, microwave and a toaster. The wake up station is stocked with a french press, coffee maker, burr coffee grinder and an electric water kettle. We have whole bean coffee, ground coffee, flavored teas along with cream and sugar and sugar substitutes. We have plates, bowls, coffee cups, glasses, cool bronze flatware and glass stemware and of course wine & bottle openers. If you prefer to paper plates and plastic utensils we have those too. We leave snacks, a few goodies, juice and water. These are for you and there is no extra charge so please enjoy.

For OUTDOOR COOKING there is a Weber electric grill and an electric griddle for cooking on the lower deck. We have grilling utensils, spices, foil, and cooking oil. All cooking must be done outside as there is very limited counter space indoors. After all this is a treehouse so enjoy the “Glamping” experience! There are two great outdoor dining spaces with bistro tables and chairs. One is on the upper deck off the bedroom and the other is a dedicated covered dining area downstairs that overlooks the fire pit.

The bathroom has a huge WALK-IN SHOWER with natural fossil stone tile and a river rock floor. Over the shower are copper fairy wire lights for a fun showering experience. Wrap yourself in the large fluffy bath sheets after showering. There is a petrified teak vessel sink and standard traditional potty just like you have at home. Soap, shampoo, hairdryer and all towels and linens are provided, just bring your toothbrush.

If you want a more adventurous showering experience, grab a robe and head downstairs to our new OUTDOOR SUMMER SHOWER. You will love the cool copper rain head and lighting for showering at night.

Off the back deck you can stroll across the laurel branch bridge to a private NAPPING DECK complete with a raised Double-Stack Net custom-made for just two people. Grab a pillow and blanket and snuggle up!

On the downstairs deck you can relax in the 2 cedar rocking chairs or hang out on the porch swing.

The FIRE PIT is just off the lower deck and we provide firewood and a little basket of goodies to make S'mores.

You will find utensils and cooking supplies in the utility room off the lower deck.

There is NO TV or WiFi but we have a basket of games, playing cards, and a vintage style record player and few old records for you to enjoy. On the lower deck there is an addicting hook & ring on a string game.

Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am.

I only allow 2 guests. There is not a sleeper sofa or any room for a cot or air mattress. The treehouse is a cozy 300 square feet.

I have poured my heart into building this treehouse. I want my guests to enjoy all the wonderful and carefully thought out things I have placed here for them. Please respect my property, follow the house rules and please leave everything like you found it.

I only book out 6 months in advance, so if you look on the calendar and the dates you want are more than 6 months away that doesn't mean they are not available, it just means the dates haven't been released yet. Please check back and grab your dates once they become available to book.

Where you’ll be

Mountain Rest, South Carolina, United States

The Treehouses are in a secluded wooded area but are very safe. There are other houses around and the neighbors are very friendly. You usually do not see the neighbors unless you pass them on the road coming in.

My name is Dee and I am fulfilling a dream of building an amazing little treetop retreat in the spectacular Blue Ridge mountains to share with those who want to getaway and recharge. I love nature, great music and seeing people happy and enjoying things they love. While at the treehouse I enjoy stargazing from the hilltop, chilly nights around the fire pit, cool mornings on the deck with a hot cup of freshly pressed coffee and taking in the beauty of God’s creation. There's nothing like spending time disconnected the internet, tv, and the busyness of life to surround yourself with the quietness of nature. My hope is that you come and enjoy my little bit of heaven in the trees as much as I do.
