About this listing
Located in Glyfada, the closest beach town to Athens, the 120 square meters (1,291 sq. feet) apartment is within a 25 minute metro ride from the Parthenon and a mere 5 minute walk to the beach. It caters to travelers eager to experience classical Athens and its monuments - without the hustling and busting of a downtown stay – while enjoying a morning or late afternoon dip in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea.
The house was built by my grandfather in the 1950s, and has undergone since two thorough renovations. It offers all 21st century amenities and its craftsmanship and details exuberate class in an unassuming manner. Two separate bedrooms, a spacious living area with an open plan kitchen, two bathrooms, a front porch and a shared backyard orchard can easily accommodate four people or even five in some cases. A ping pong table and a BBQ can make a lazy day at the house quite eventful.
And yet, it shall be a serious omission to overlook the shopping offerings of Glyfada. There are choices for all purses, from designer stores to middle of the road mom & pop stores which make a shopping trip to downtown Athens redundant.
For the more adventurous the numerous beach towns to the South of Glyfada can serve as a one day excursion, and thus making the pilgrimage to the Temple of Poseidon, located in the southernmost tip of Attica a 30 minute drive, an unforgettable experience.
Having dinner at a monastery dining table surrounded by the citrus backyard orchard, and shaded by grapevines is the perfect ending of a long day spent by the sea or visiting the Acropolis. I would be more than eager to host you at my family home and make sure you will have a memorable stay.
At an extra cost I can arrange and organize:
Pick-up and drop off from and to the Athens airport
Drive to nearby beaches and lakes
Tours of Athens by real experts
"Act only on that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it become a universal law."
