About this listing
Clean, well maintained, private. Beautiful view of the Bay of Panama. Perfect for one or two guests. We have paid careful attention to comfort. You can cook for yourself or eat at the restaurants on the island - or a combo of both. The perfect home away from home while visiting Isla Taboga and Panama. Also perfect retreat for writers and artists.
There are several small stores and restaurants on the island, historical evidence of pirates, conquistadors, and WWII occupation. The second oldest church in the western hemisphere, built in 1524, is here! Swimming, snorkeling, boating, sunning, hiking. The best swimming pool on Taboga is in our complex! We own a panga (18 foot, locally made boat) and, for a small fee, will take you fishing or on a circumnavigation of the island, the backside of which is a pelican preserve and a haven for all sorts of wildlife.
Interaction with Guests
We are on site January through March and available for your needs.
This island of 1,000 year round residents is a quiet, peaceful place, lush with flowers and tropical vegetation and a stunning variety of birds. Life is much as it has been for many generations. You will find it restful and relaxing - not much nightlife except for a few excellent restaurants. After a day exploring the island, birdwatching, swimming or a day trip into Panama City, relax with a glass of wine on your patio or mingle with others in the common area.
Everything on the island is reachable on foot. There are very few cars, several golf carts, and locals transport visitors via "taxi" when necessary. From the airport, take a cab to one of two ferries which will transport you to the island. Ferry information will be provided upon booking.
Other Things to Note

We are a small community of 7 condos. Most residents live here year round and we expect our guests to respect the grounds and inhabitants. Pool is for paying guests only. Not suitable for children, no smoking, and - sorry - no pets.
About the Host, Irene & Dan
We are both New Yorkers who met in Seattle where we live on our sailboat when we're not in Panama. We came down a few years ago "just to see" what Panama was like and ended up buying two condos - one for us and one for you! We love Isla Taboga. It is quiet and beautiful and real. Come and see!
