Be nice to my house, leave it in the condition you found it.
Be nice to my neighbors, even though they are far away, they can still hear loud music if you play it outside.
Have a great stay and enjoy yourself
My husband, baby girl and I were looking for a getaway house from our hectic NYC a lifestyle and Nikie's house was just the perfect spot. We were not blessed with the best weather but enjoyed cooking I. The beautiful kitchen and sitting by the wood stove. We would absolutely visit again and this time bring another couple to take advantage of all the board games! Definitely recommend this adorable house!
Nikie's place is absolutely lovely and cosy as promised. Everything we needed to cook and relax as if we were in our own home. The space is filled with creative touches and design that is inspiring and transporting. Nikie was incredibly kind, commincative, and responsive, and made sure everything we could possibly need was in place. I hope to return!
We love Nikie's house and have stayed 2 weekends (so far). The house is cozy with a great lay-out and is very well stocked with utensils, condiments, linens, etc. We love playing the games around the wood-stove at night or having coffee in the sunroom with the ipod on shuffle (her playlist is everything you want on a sunny Saturday morning in the country).
Nikie has been very accommodating with last minute stays and our dog, and both times we were greeted with a note and bottle of wine. =]
The area is great, close to Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Saugerties, Hyde Park, and there is plenty to do. Some of our favorite spots are Flatiron Restaurant in Red Hook (Nikie's recommendation), The Local restaurant in Rhinebeck, and Uptown Cinema. There are loads of shops in Rhinebeck that range from basics to curated boutiques.
Before traveling, I had asked Nickie if it would be possible to arrive a bit early than the specified check-in time. Nickie quickly said this would be no problem and when I arrived early on check-in day, she was just finishing up cleaning the house and kindly gave me a quick tour. Overall, our weekend stay was peaceful and relaxing. The house had everything we needed and provided a nice escape from city life. The house was as described and looked exactly like the photos. Would stay again.
I spent the holidays at Nikie's house with my boyfriend and two dogs. The house is extremely cozy and charming, perfect for reading a book on the couch. And the sunsets from the kitchen window were breathtaking. The house is also an easy drive from the towns in the Hudson Valley and we managed to visit Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Germantown, Bard, and Kingston all before we left. Nikie was super easy to get in touch with. We definitely hope to return in the future!
Nikie's house was lovely! It's set in a beautiful and peaceful part of Red Hook, and the house has such character and charm. I'd happily come back to stay any time.
Everything was amazing. We came up for a cozy weekend, and it rained nearly the entire time, so we did even more staying in than we planned. It was the perfect place to do it, though! It's a great cozy country cottage for spending a winter weekend, and it would be a great base camp for summer activities and bbqing on the back deck, too!
