Ann welcomed us and showed us the well stocked suite. The listing was as described. A delightful location in the historic district near enough to walk to water both ways. When asked, Michael brought their parrot Anja for a visit. She is precious.
An wonderful Air bnb experience! Lovely hosts and everything exactly as described and very clean. We really appreciated all the small touches and the breakfast items in our room. The location is central to all the waterfront bustle but on a quiet historic street.
Ann's cute Victorian home is in a great location in James Bay--only about 5 blocks from downtown Victoria and about 4 blocks from James Bay village. Her son Michael met us at the house when we arrived after walking from the bus station; it is easy enough to travel here via public transit.
The balcony was a great feature and we loved sitting outside to watch the horse-drawn carriages clop by. The room was stocked with the breakfast essentials: milk, cereal, oatmeal, baked goods, and fresh fruit.
Though there is no A/C, Victoria is temperate enough that open windows and fans suffice for sleeping if you visit during the summer.
It was nearly midnight we reached Ann's home but she welcomed us warmly and settled us into our large bed/sitting room. There was a bowl of fruit and fresh pastries for breakfast and also a wide variety of cereals, milk and juices. Ann provided copious quantities of fluffy white towels and our bed was very comfortable. Character Suite is in a peaceful neighbourhood is close to shops and in a perfect location for seeing Victoria. Signal Hill Park and the ocean are only two blocks away and we enjoyed our early morning walks there.
A lovely house and a loveky room with full amenities. Ann greeted me like a old friend which was very much appreciated after a long day travelling.
The house is very convenient for the harbour area, only about a 10min walk.
Would stay here again next time I am in Victoria
Ann met us on the porch with a smile as we arrived and provided information about the accomodations and the community. The room was well appointed with vintage furniture and woodworking. We loved the banister that led upstairs to our bedroom.
Ann's home is located within walking distance of the waterfront with a number of parks and historic places to explore and enjoy.
We have recommended this airbnb to friends who are traveling to Victoria later this summer.
Ann provided a nice "breakfast box" with pastries that we very much enjoyed. Thank you,
Barb and Doug
I was a bit disappointed my room was changed from the one I originally reserved, and I was notified of this change just before leaving home. However, the room which I occupied was fine - just not the one I selected.
Ann was very welcoming on arrival and helped by making some suggestions about where I might go to get an 'eye issue' resolved. All was well! The house is located in a very nice, friendly area, convenient to a full grocery store, pharmacy, fun neighborhood restaurant (Bent Mast), a Starbucks, and easy walk to Victoria harbor and city. Ann provided many things in the room - an overflowing fresh fruit bowl, milk, cereal and coffee fixings. There is a microwave and a power-strip for your charging needs. Room and bathroom both clean and bright. Ann and Michael have their private side of the house but were available for questions, if you knock. I did my share of knocking!! They were always on the other side to offer assistance and suggestions. Enjoyed my stay!
