  • My stay at Ann's Character Suite Inn was perfect. The room was lovely and the little balcony delightful. Ann was the nicest hostess imaginable. She asked me what I liked to have for breakfast and brought me extra things, too, so I always had fresh fruit in a bowl and cream for my coffee, both hot and cold cereals, orange juice and delicious breakfast pastry like croissants of various types from a nice local bakery. She and her son were very personable. It couldn't have been better. It gets 5 stars from me!

  • We enjoyed our stay. Ann was a very good host, providing us with a wonderful breakfast and other goodies. The location is very central between downtown Victoria and Beacon Hill park. We highly recommend staying at Ann's place.

  • Very nice area, close to downtown attractions and the seaside. Easy to reach from bus drop off. The room was large and comfortable, with a nice balcony for relaxation. the bed is a large Arts and Crafts style and quite comfortable. Enjoyed my two night stay there. Ann provided pastries and fruit, as well as breakfast supplies.

  • This was a superb place for me to stay while doing some casual lecturing at UVic. It's right in the heart of downtown, near to the James Bay shops and coast, and in a nice leafy suburb. The room was very well equipped and the house is architecturally beautiful. Ann and son were very welcoming and supplied some great breakfasts. Kindly, they allowed me to park my bicycle, which I used to commute out to UVic, in their garage. I have no hesitation in recommending them and their accommodation.

  • Ann's place was exactly what it was supposed to be! She was a lovely hostess - she was responsive before and during our visit, and really helpful.

The place itself is in a great location. It is convenient to all the "downtown" based sites. In fact, the core of Victoria is an easy walk - perhaps 10 minutes to Parliament House. If you don't want to walk, parking is pretty cheap in town.

The other direction, away from Parliament, brings you quickly to really lovely walks along the water. Perfect for a run (if that's your thing) or a long walk along the walk front. Really great.

The layout of the room itself is unique, but exactly as shown and described. Ann has fitted the room out well and it works great. There's even a small balcony to catch the sun.

  • My stay with Ann was two weeks long, and it was absolutely delightful. She is a most kind and generous host, always smiling and anxious to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The space was great, and I appreciated having a little kitchen and balcony. The location is also fantastic!

I will most certainly look to stay with Ann again and would recommend her home to all.

  • Nice large older home in James Bay. Great location very close to Beacon HIll park and downtown. The room was clean, and simple. There is a nice little deck off the bedroom and a little kitchen/bathroom off the bedroom on the other side. We were happy to find breakfast items stocked for us, muffins, bagels, fruit. It's not a fancy place to stay but it's clean, comfortable, affordable and in a great location. We were happy we stayed at Ann's.

  • Terrific stay here. Ann and Michael were both very welcoming and helpful, but also very respectful of my privacy. The room is lovely and large and quiet. The partial kitchen/bathroom combination very workable. There's a refrigerator in the room, and when I arrived it was stocked with milk and OJ and bagels. They also had a basket of organic fruit for me! The location's terrific, just a few blocks away from the Inner Harbour. All-in-all, I'd stay here again without hesitation.
