  • Canoës Vallée Vézère

Good place to rent a canoe. My favorite is rather long. They take you Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere and you paddle back to Les Eyzies. About 4 hours. They have shorter ones as well.
Promenade de la Vézère Les Eyzies de Tayac Aquitaine 24620
  • Restaurant de Laugerie Basse

Restaurant nestled in the hollow of the cliff, 2 kms from les Eyzies, near the troglodyte site of Abri de Laugerie Basse. Run by the same family for 3 generations the food is fresh and good.
    Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil Aquitaine 24620
  • Grotte du Grand Roc

About a mile northwest of Les Eyzies on the left bank of the Vezere. Signs point the way on D47. You can get very close to the stalagmites/tites.

  • Abris de Laugerie Basse

Laugerie Basse is an abri, a rock shelter rather than a cave, on the right bank of the Vézère River, across the bridge from Les Eyzies. The 1st Venus figure found in France was found here in 1864.

  • Musée national de Préhistoire

Set up to show the inhabitants of the rock from prehistory to the 20th century. Really well done, with models and furniture.

Train ride through this cave is fun and filled with lots of wooly mammoth engravings.
