Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Built in 1923 and located in the Junius Heights Historic District, this shot gun style triplex offers easy access to the best parts of Dallas. Smack dab in the middle of the action, we are minutes from Uptown’s trendy shops, Deep Ellum’s music scene, Downtown, the DMA, DALLAS Farmers Market, Santa Fe and Katy Bike Trails, DALLAS Arboretum, White Rock Lake, Fair Park, the Cotton Bowl, Lower Greenville, Zoo and Lakewood, where the locals go.

The space
Our 100 year old historic home is 90% original. That said, if you’re looking for a brand new, sterile and cold, dull and boring spot, this is not for you. If you’re looking for comfy, cozy, funky and eclectic, lucky you, you’ve hit the jackpot. We are a family business, 2 sisters, who genuinely want your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

A roomy living area with electric fireplace, WiFi, Smart TV. We have lots of artwork and a large selection of games. We do not have central heat or air but with the use of heaters and window units you will be comfortable.

The Queen sized bed is really comfortable with a memory foam gel top mattress, tons of pillows and luxurious linens. Tons of storage space for your clothing and accessories in the spacious bedroom area and large closet.
**There is also a comfortable twin sized Rollaway bed (perfect for children and adults) with extra linens available. These are stored in the bedroom closet. The back of the sofa folds down to make a bed.

The full kitchen has a gas stove/oven a full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster and Kuerig coffee maker. Water, coffee & tea are provided. There’s a breakfast nook, and the kitchen cabinets are stocked with all the dishes and utensils you may need, including basic essentials.

There is a MASSAGE room! An extraordinary electric massage chair that you may never get out of is the center of this room, giving an unbelievable back, neck and leg massage. There is a desk and office chair if you must do some work. It’s highlighted by a vaseline glass chandelier which glows neon green in the night. (So does the office chair!) There is a black light in this room to enhance the “grooviness”...but it can be unplugged for less “glow”.

The bathroom has a vintage claw foot tub/shower with a rainfall shower head and fluffy towels. It also has a bidet. We provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash, hairdryer and miscellaneous items in case you forget.

You can enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails on the front porch picnic table and enjoy the neighborhood.

Feel free to use the shared washer and dryer right outside the back door (soap not provided).

Guest access
You will have use of the entire left side of the house with private entrance, private driveway, and a private front porch area. The laundry facilities, back yard, and front yard are shared spaces. The front door lock has an access code that we change after each guest.

Other things to note
The other two apartments are occupied by full time residents. The shared wall spaces are just that. Please be respectful and they will do the same. If there are any issues please contact Pam or I immediately for a swift resolution.

While the house does not have central heat/air, there are two portable heating units that keep the space toasty warm in the rare moments Dallas has cold weather. Please ensure these are turned off upon checkout.

A window unit fan/AC and 4 ceiling fans will keep it cool even on the warmest Texas Summer day. Please set the AC to any setting you’re comfortable with, we just ask that, during the summer months, you NOT turn it off when you check out, in order to keep it cool for cleaning and the next guests.

The television is Internet connected. (No cable television) You are welcome to log into your Netflix or Hulu, Amazon, etc. account, just make sure you log out before you leave so as not to have your account inadvertently hit for any charges by subsequent guests.

Neighborhood highlights

Lakewood is a funky, fun area of Dallas that puts you smack dab in the middle of everything. White Rock Lake is nearby for walking, jogging, biking. So are the Santa Fe and Katy Trails.

Uptown Dallas with its trendy shops and restaurants is minutes away; as is Downtown where you will find upscale restaurants, “hole in the wall” cafes, event centers, the Arts District, museums, historical monuments, Neiman Marcus, JFK Museum and Dealy Plaza, fabulous Farmers Market, West End, the Dallas Aquarium, train stations, parks and more. Did you know that there is an underground tunnel system downtown Dallas with an underground city? Lower Greenville has a happening night life and top notch restaurants and Deep Ellum is known for its music venues, The Bomb Factory and Trees. You can almost smell Corndogs as Fair Park and the Texas State Fairgrounds are really close by too! Today, Fair Park claims to be "the only intact and unaltered pre-1950s world fair site remaining in the United States – with an extraordinary collection of 1930s art and architecture." So cool.

I spend too much time: Shopping
I could be easily be described as eccentric! I love people, dogs, corn dogs, music, art and doing random acts of champagne and flower bouquets. I wrangle heart shaped cactus that I sell and have a green thumb which can sometimes be a curse. I usually do things “big” or not at all. I enjoy boating in SW Florida, and cruising around with my “foster fail” pup Lucy in my bad a$$ pink golf cart. We ride my Kawasaki mule in Texas and have a really big infatuation with the neighbors horses, Christmas lights (and lights in general). I love to shop! I’m happily married, a friend, sister and now an Airbnb host, of which I aspire to be a great one! My sister Pam co hosts, it’s a family affair, and we take pride In our space and our City. If just one wish was granted to me (besides unlimited more wishes) I would use it to rid the world of disease, specifically Parkinson’s Disease. That’s some of my story and it’s all true.
