Description

The space

Ever heard of Schengen? Well we're located there... lovely country-side area at the Luxembourgish, French and German borders. Ever heard of the Mosel river and its vinyards? Well it is also here....

Quiet apartment, in a private XVIII century Manor house or Château, as they say in French, sourrounded by vineyards and overlooking the Mosel river.

Features independent access to the Suite, a private garden , one bedroom fitted with a queen bed, heating, fridge, microwave and kettle. Also cable TV, Wi-Fi internet access, and free parking..... As there is no kitchen, your stay will include continental breakfast, with all home-made, home-grown fruit preserves! :o)

Suite is best suited for 2 adults, however a place for up to 2 children could be organised at a small fee.

Located in France, at 900 meters to the Luxembourguish border and the 1200 meters to the German one.

The Château is best reached by car, however is is also conveniently reacheable by train to Sierck-les-Bains station in France, or the Maimühle / Perl station in Germany and/or by bus to Schengen in Luxembourg.

Domestic animals could be accepted, if properly house trained and if compatible with the house pets, which have all priority. There is an extra cleaning fee stays with pets (please add your pet as an extra person when booking).

The neighborhood

The castle is isolated, which means no village nor neighbourhood nearby. Vinyards, nature and our animals will be your only company.

Other things to note

Oh one more point.... In case you might have not realised it in the property description, there is NO KITCHEN in the Suite. Having said this, there is a small "coffee corner" in the room for you to prepare hot beverages at your own convenience, and a small fridge (mini-bar style) and a microwave directly in the room.

House Rules
No smoking
No parties or events
Check in is anytime after 4PM

We are friendly, tolerant, and very respectful of your privacy, and welcome guests who are the same, and please no excessive noise at any time. :o)

Guests have a choice were to stay, our pets don't. Besides our dog, we have cats, peacocks, fish and the occasional wild animal visiting the premises. They will have no problem sharing their habitat with you, hence guests should be fine with them being present at the premises at all times (we cannot stress this enough).

You may smoke outside only, you will have a superb garden all for yourself ! And if you smoke please do not dispose your cigarette buds properly.

For your safety and ours, no visitors are allowed, hence please do not invite strangers back to the Château. There are plenty of nice restaurants and cafes nearby to meet new friends.

Italo is the perfect host. He immediately made us feel at home. The apartment is beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed and comes with your own private garden against the vineyard. A perfect place to relax with a glass of champagne in company of the dog, cat and peacocks. And what a breakfast...! Wonderful homemade jam, cake, juice, etc. The communication with Italo was quick and easy. What a pity we could not stay longer. One of our best Airbnb experiences!

We were fortunate enough to discover Italo's and Laurent's enchanting chateau for a weekend getaway. The apartment is well separated within the lovely building and features a beautiful garden, exquisite furniture, high ceilings and cozy wooden floors. It's very spacious and everything is perfectly in place to make you feel cozy and comfy. Also several animals, including a lovely dog and a few peacocks create a vital atmosphere in the place. The estate is located directly at the border of France and Luxembourg. It is not as remote as one could expect from the pictures - about 5 minutes drive to towns in either direction. Yet, it is perfectly quiet and well fit as a retreat from urban stress. Italo and Laurent were perfect hosts. They made a stay possible on very short notice, and were most welcoming and lovely. Every morning we were surprised by a delicious and fresh breakfast. The two provided excellent recommendations and detailed descriptions of the sights and activities in the area, before the stay. We can wholeheartedly recommend the place for a getaway or a romantic retreat and we do look forward to visit the two again, some time soon.

Italo made us feel very welcome in their apartment! The scenic is absolutely stunning (tip: do the Schengen sans frontier hike, only a few hours and the views are brilliant and it almost passes through their backyard) but the apartment was very good as well. Very clean and plenty spacious. The garden is pretty and full of animals (dog barks but is very sweet!). We'd love to come back and see it in the summer.

A magical backdrop in the French countryside. Perfect for a slow holiday to relax, read and sleep in. Beautiful interior and garden, the peacocks outside, the cats and the dog - everything fairytale.

We spent 5 days at the chateau. If anything, the pictures do not do the room or the chateau justice. It is an amazing place situated between a vineyard in the back and the Mosel River in the front. A beautiful setting and a beautiful home. The room is very nice and quiet. Italo was a great host, friendly and helpful. One word of caution...the chateau would not be very accessible via public transportation. A car is needed. If you want a secluded location near the Mosel River wine country, stay here.

Me, my wife and half year old daughter stayed for 3 nights at this beautiful place. Although Italo couldn't make it to welcome us on arrival, everything was made clear on forehand via email and sms. It was a bit of a struggle to get past the second fence, but a little adventure is always nice when you're on holiday:) Italo was really nice and willing to think along what to visit and where to go. Breakfast is top notch and so is the wine! Loads of nice old towns within short driving distance and the bistro in Remershen was just perfect, even when you have a little baby. The view outside the room is extraordinary (when you love vineyards haha), peacocks are walking round and the dog is a beauty, which says a lot as I'm not a dog fan. In short; a brilliant place to stay, will try to come back some day!
