About this listing
My 1960s split level house is minutes from downtown, just over the Blossom Street bridge in Cayce. The quiet, wooded neighborhood has easy access to the Riverwalk. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere to make you feel at home. Private room and bath.
Private bedroom with a queen size bed. Dresser & closet. Ceiling fan. Private bath with shower.
Room & bathroom are kept closed off from my dog. However, the rest of the house is subjected to a constant barrage of mud, slobber, and dog hair. My roomba runs daily, but my dog sometimes gets ahead of me.
Interaction with Guests
I have a busy life, so after check-in there may be minimal interaction. However, I will do anything I can to make sure your visit is comfortable. All guests can call me anytime on my cell. I am a professor at USC and happily try to accommodate the needs of graduate students and visiting fellows.
This small, 25-house neighborhood was subdivided from the Guinard Estate in the 1960s, so all the houses are split-levels or ranchers. It is a five minute walk to the beautiful Riverwalk along the Congaree. Numerous restaurants deliver.
It is a few minutes walk to a not very convenient bus stop. Most people in Columbia drive. Parking is available on site. I often walk the 2 miles to my office at the University of South Carolina.
Other Things to Note
I have a very friendly, but very large dog -- an English Mastiff named Miss Moneypenny. If you are allergic or afraid of dogs, this is not the place for you.
Please no smoking. No excessive noise after 10:00 pm or before 7:00 am. No children.
