Annelies was a wonderful hostess. She answered several phone calls from us working out details for our arrival and storing of luggage until the apartment was ready for us. She was always available to answer questions and provide us guidance. She was also very helpful in recommending some great vegetarian restaurants in the area. The apartment is a great location since it is only a very short distance to the museum district to include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. And, as mentioned, the food choices were plentiful and of high quality. I'd most certainly stay at one of Annelies properties in the future.
Very good deal.
The apartment is ideal for a couple, kitchen is fully equipped, nice shower and a big bathtub. much more then expected.
The location is not exactly in the "centrum", but you actually have everything downstairs. Dam and central station is 10 mins away in 1 tram line.
The host was very nice and explanations were very clear.
Ill sure come back
Beautiful flat in a great location - very convenient for local shops, bars and restaurants and a tram stop just at the end of the street but just enough out of the centre of the city to have a quieter, more "Dutch" feel to it than the hectic touristy parts around Dam square or in the Red Light district. The apartment itself was a beautiful space and ideal for a couple; big windows which made it very light and airy. The stairs up to the apartment were steep but then that's the same in any Amsterdam apartment! Nicely fitted out kitchen and bathroom with private balcony. All round a great find and definitely somewhere we would use again next time we're visiting.
Annalies and her colleagues were very welcoming and met us at the apartment to show us round, and even allowed us to leave our bags with them on our last day so we could enjoy a few hours before our flight without having to keep all the luggage with us. Great hosts
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. We felt like we were at home. Chleo and Sylvia were both really kind and helpful. We loved that everything was almost in front of our house. The only annoying things were the steps because they are really small and noisy and the bathroom looks a bit bigger on the photos.
But we would book this apartment immediately again and recommend it to everyone who wants to have some awesome nights in Amsterdam! Thank you very much. Greetings
Annelies' apartment is great for a family-friendly place to stay in Amsterdam. You are in easy walking distance to public transport and close to many of the city's attractions. The neighbourhood has a fantastic assortment of pubs, cafes and restaurants all with in a stones throw of the apartment. If there is one negative, it is the steep, narrow staircase to the apartment. All in all, a great place that I would happily stay in again.
This is a pleasant and luminous flat, well equiped, very well situated just few minutes walk from Museum plein and from a departure pier for canal cruises and other attractions and facilities (market, shops, restaurants, tram, ...).
The area is alive, and still the street is quiet and inhabited by "genuine" Amsterdamers (not only tourists).
Historical centre is not that far with tram, and we even enjoyed coming back from there by foot with our little daughter in her buggy getting lost in the small streets and canals.
First time to travel to Europe. First time to use Airbnb and even booked just a few days before our trip. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? Wrong! All thanks to Annelies for being a great host. She gave us instructions for everything and provided answers to everything we asked as well from places to go to, where to eat, etc. She was constantly in touch before and during our trip up until before we left. The only problem we encountered was that there was a chair or two which needed repair, but that's really just nitpicking. The stairs were quite challenging because it was steep especially for my dad and uncle, but as I told Annelies, it is good practice if you're going to the Ann Frank House and really a lot of the buildings are really like that - be it boutique hotels or other apartments. Location was great because her apartment was near Museumplein(Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, etc). There are also different restaurants catering to different cuisines too(I suggest Pasta Pasta and Cafe Loetje for those who'd book this apartment). Also, you have the Albert Cuypstraat market and a few supermarkets nearby. Trams also pass nearby so getting around is fairly easy. I definitely would recommend booking with Annelies and should I find myself going back to Amsterdam in the future then I'll be sure to be in touch with her. I hope everyone's stay in Amsterdam will be as lovely as ours or perhaps even more.
