This fully furnished private cottage in Historic Central Gardens is ideal for longer stays. Designed for professionals, travel nurses, and remote workers, the space offers all utilities and high-speed internet included, a quiet residential setting, and everything needed for comfortable day-to-day living.

Located in one of Midtown’s most walkable historic neighborhoods, you’ll be minutes from major hospitals, universities, restaurants, and Overton Park—without the noise or traffic of Downtown.

The space
This one bedroom cottage is approximately 650 square feet and features one bedroom with a double bed, high quality mattress, vanity, closet, and chest of drawers for your convenience. Additionally, the living area provides two single beds (day bed and trundle), a work space, dining area, and HD Smart TV with cable and streaming capability (Netflix, Hulu, etc).

The full kitchen provides a gas stove/oven for your culinary creations as well as a microwave for your culinary convenience. Refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, washing machine and all dishes, utensils, and cookware are provided. Have a Shipt or Instacart membership? Feel free to have groceries delivered to stock the kitchen prior to your stay!

The bathroom offers a tub/shower combination as well as a standard toilet and sink. Toilet paper, towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as a hairdryer are provided for your convenience.

Traveling with young children? We are happy to provide a pack n play for your use.

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while relaxing on your front porch swing, enjoy the surprisingly soft feel of the paper bag floors, and see if you can guess which painting was done by our then 2 year old!

Guest access
This cottage is completely separate from the main house and provides all necessities for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Parking is available on the street in front of the main house, and The Cottage is a very short walk up the driveway, nestled in the back yard of our 1927 Craftsman Bungalow.

Other things to note

Neighborhood highlights

Congratulations on your decision to visit Memphis! Memphis, Tennessee was rated one of the top 20 places in the world to visit in 2013 by National Geographic Magazine. It has a vibrant music and arts scene with world class museums and parks- and don't forget about the Barbeque! Every May, Memphis is home to the International BBQ competition during the Memphis in May Festival.

The Cottage is located in Central Gardens, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and was voted one of America's Best Old House Neighborhoods by This Old House Magazine. It is Tennessee's only neighborhood designated as a level 3 arboretum due to the number and diversity of beautiful mature trees which provide a lovely shade canopy.
During your stay, take an architectural tour through the neighborhood and enjoy the beautifully restored examples of American Craftsman, Colonial Revival, Mediterranean Revival, Mission, Neoclassical, Prairie School, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival, Shingle Style, and Eclectic historic homes.

The Cottage is located less than a mile from the vibrant Cooper Young neighborhood. Browse through the oldest independent bookstore in Memphis - Burke's Books (est. 1875), stop for drinks at Alchemy, and make a reservation for Brunch at the Beauty Shop! If you're a cat lover, stop in to love on some rescued felines at The House of Mews. Grab some coffee at Otherlands, Bluff CIty, or Java Cabana and don't forget to stop for a cupcake at Muddy's - voted one of the best bakeries in America by Thrillest!

Looking for some entertainment? Take a quick trip to the exciting Overton Square area and catch a movie at Studio on the Square or a live production at Playhouse on the Square, Hattiloo Theatre, or Circuit Playhouse.

Longing to enjoy some time in the great outdoors? Visit Overton Park - a 342 acre public park which is home to the Memphis Zoo, Brooks Museum of Art, the Memphis College of Art, a 9-hole public golf course, Rainbow Lake playground, and miles of walking/biking trails through the Old Forest Arboretum of Overton Park (one of the few remaining old growth forests in Tennessee).
