About This Listing
Large and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with huge windows, street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor. Un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage, half street-style.
:: WHOLE APARTMENT (5 PEOPLE MAX.) AVAILABLE JULY 15/16/17/18/19/20/21 SEPTEMBER 27/28/29/30 OCTOBER 1/2/3/4/14/15/16/17/18 ::
A large and comfortable Berlin style "Alt-Bau" apartment with a street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor.
The photos show only one room, but there are two fully furnished 25 square metre rooms with connecting balcony. I live in one side, the other is yours. You may book the whole place if you wish. The apartment is un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage half street style. So you can expect the original architectural and ornamental interior style of the area, sporting a romantic amount of damage. The apartment is very cosy, a great place to curl up with a book and listen for not so distant sirens and Kreuzberg chaos. Or a perfect base from which to explore Berlin.
Wireless internet (can be connected to all devices 24/7), dishwasher, gas cooking and heating, 2nd floor (there's no elevator, escalator or anything like that, so I would say it's not wheelchair accessible…), sunshine from 9am - 2pm in Summer, but the curtains will protect you if you want to sleep late.
*This isn't an ideal space for very young children, from 8 or 9 is just fine*

Interaction with Guests
I'm out and about often, but really happy to welcome you in my home and answer any questions to assist you with your adventure.
Stumbling distance from nightlife, 24 hour public transport, Görlitzer Park, local markets and galleries. 12 minutes into the city centre by train. A lazy afternoon in the sun by the canal is only a 5 minute walk away. Berlin's best known clubs (and some you might like to know about…) are within walking distance. Berghain is €12 by taxi or 15 minutes by bicycle.
Every Tuesday and Friday there’s a fresh produce market across the canal at the bottom of the street. There's a great laundromat about a block away, several local supermarkets and night shops, plenty of bars. Everything's affordable still; it's Kreuzberg.
The best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life can be found in a café a short walk from the apartment. It’s unbelievable. They also roast and blend their own coffee beans. This café has saved my life. OMG the cheesecake…
Public transit is very easy and close by, as is cheap bike hire.
12 minutes into the city centre by train.
Taxi to/from the airport: €30 for TXL and €38 for SXF.
Though we're utterly surrounded with bars and clubs and restaurants, this apartment is a little home oasis in the Kreuzberg chaos. Thus, it's not the place for your after-party! You can hear the neighbours and the neighbours can hear you. (A little bit - you just have to be considerate about making noise in the stairs and walk gently late at night!!).
Quiet time in the building is from 10p.m. til 8a.m. Basic system to keep our house happy is turn the subwoofer down in the evenings and smoke on the balcony or in the kitchen. To keep the neighbours happy: light feet!
It's illegal to download films and music through torrent/file-sharing software in Germany. If you have this software on your computer, make sure it is disabled BEFORE you connect to the internet at my place. The internet password is changed for each booking.
Smokers are welcome to use the balcony.
I can say I had my best experience in Berlin during these holidays. I highly recommend Jessica. She knows everything and definitely represents to me the perfect open-minded host I am always looking for when visiting a new city. Her flat is picturesque and definitely represents the vibe of Berlin. Overall, I shall be back for sure.
Had such a good time at Lausitzer Straße. Jessica was a great host and everything was as promised. Extra points for a supercomfy bed, nice balcony and THE best location for every X-Berg hangout.
Can't go wrong with this:)!
My fiance and I went to Berlin for a weekend. Jessica is simply great! She was very quick at answering our request - within a couple of minutes! - and all our questions. Despite being busy, she took the time to speak with us and we had the opportunity to get to know each other. She also had great suggestions in terms of stuff to do and eat in the city.
Jessica's place was exactly like she described it and felt very authentic. The bedroom was very spacious. The apartment is located in a very cool part of Berlin, with lots of cafes/restaurants nearby.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay with Jessica and if we were to visit another time, we would try to book with her again.
Jessica's place has it all! The area is alive with many nice bars, clubs and shops in walking distance. This place itself is a quiet hideout just around the corner from all the fun. The house has typical Berlin alt bau charm; rough but super comfy ( the bed sleeps like a dream, the shower is very good, the heating warms the huge space very fast) And on top of it all Jessica is a super lovely host. She was flexible with our check in/out times. She prepared some local info and most of all she made as feel very much at home. This place is highly recommended, Enjoy!
The place looks like the pictures, it is massive. Very bohemian feeling, but also clean and homely. The location is really excellent, right by the Görli in the heart of Kreuzberg, yet on a quiet and peaceful street.
We picked keys up from a nearby off licence so never actually met Jessica as she was travelling, but she is really good at communicating on Airbnb and really made sure that everything was in line for our arrival.

About the Host, Jessica
Australian born and raised, I've lived in Kreuzberg, the centre of my Berlin universe, for 7 years now and absolutely consider it home. The city is a mecca for creative and adventurous humans. I go to a concert or live show at least once a week. We're so spoiled here!
I love riding my bike. Meeting for breakfast. I love work, friends, this wicked city which I adore to explore. My desires are simple: a delicious meal, quiet moments in a busy day. To make my world a little more beautiful. I love to read. And I can't live without music.
