A large and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with huge windows, street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor. Un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage, half street-style. One half is for you, one half is for my home office, or if you want the whole pad, just ask, I am flexible. Details below, read on :) All humans are welcome here.

The space

Your room in a large and comfortable Berlin style "Alt-Bau" apartment with a street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor. One room sleeps 3 very comfortably, but the whole apartment can be negotiated for up to 5 if you ask nicely. My home office/living room is the other room, but I am happy to leave it to the right guests.

The photos show only one room, but there are two fully furnished 24 square metre double rooms with connecting French doors and balcony. One room has a double bed with a foam mattress, the other has a double spring mattress at floor level with a bed head.

The apartment is un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage half street-style. So you can expect the original architectural and ornamental interior style of the area, sporting a romantic amount of damage. The apartment is very cosy, a great place to curl up with a book and listen for not so distant sirens and Kreuzberg chaos. Or a perfect base from which to explore Berlin.

Wireless internet is patchy in our neighbourhood, but usually works and can be connected to all devices 24/7 at no extra cost. Dishwasher, gas cooking and heating, 2nd floor (there's no elevator, escalator or ramp), sunshine from 8am - 2pm in Summer, but the curtains will protect you if you want to sleep late. No sunshine in winter, but the room is ESE facing and gets plenty of light.

PETS & KIDS:
*This isn't an ideal space for very young children, from 8 or 9 is just fine, if you have younger ones, please ask me about your specific situation*
*Pets are welcome but I'll need to know a bit about them first*

Though we're utterly surrounded with bars and clubs and restaurants, this apartment is a little home oasis in the Kreuzberg chaos. Thus, it's not the place for your after-party! You can hear the neighbours and the neighbours can hear you. (A little bit - you just have to be considerate about making noise in the stairs and walk gently late at night!!).

Absolutely do not bring unregistered guests into my home without permission.

When you're coming up the stairs the first time, please carry your luggage and don't talk loudly. Sound travels through the stairs and I try very hard not to disturb my lovely neighbours.

Quiet time in the building is from 10p.m. til 8a.m. Basic system to keep our house happy is turn the music down in the evenings and smoke on the balcony. To keep the neighbours happy: light feet!

It's illegal to download films and music through torrent/file-sharing software in Germany. If you have this software on your computer, make sure it is disabled BEFORE you connect to the internet at my place. The internet password is changed for each booking.

Smokers are welcome to use the balcony, it's a non-smoking indoors flat.

Kids over 7 or 8 are absolutely welcome!

Jessica is just a great person. Easy communication from the time I booked until the time I left. My room was clean and set when I arrived. Kreutzberg is a very fun neighborhood lots going on and great street art all over (check out the alternative walking tour). The only thing is if you're allergic to cats you may want to find a different place, because Jessica's cat Blake is a pretty friendly guy that will want to play with you (+1 if you're a cat lover)

Jessica's place was amazing! So close to public transit, and literally a stone's throw from great bars and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone!

Jessica is a stellar host - can't ask for a better guide, nor a more welcoming person. She thought of everything I might need, and was very communicative. Her flat is a cute alt-bau and totally well-suited for seeing the real Berlin. I only wish I had more time!

Jessica is a fabulous girl. It is so easy to communicate with her because she is open and straightforward. Upon arrival, she has many good maps and tips on places to eat. She personally gave me good recs for nightlife during the nights I stayed with her. Her place is less than 5 minutes to the metro and near the city center. Area looks a bit tough but is fine for a smart solo female traveler. The room is spacious and well decorated! The whole apt has a chic vintage appeal. Bed is comfy and big. Very warm and inviting AirBnB with a nice local feel created by a great host!

We had a great time staying at Jessica's place. The room was spacious and clean. We had everything we needed. Jessica is a great host - very friendly, helpful and responsive. The place is fairly close to the subway station, which is convenient.

This was just such a rad space to come home to after long days out exploring, with loads of vintage elegance mixed with a cool DIY aesthetic. The room was warm and comfy with amazing natural light. Jessica was an awesome chill host, and Kreuzberg is outrageously fun--I think I barely scratched the surface of all the options for delicious food and drinks. Top notch all around, wish I was still there!

Jessica was very welcoming. She made sure she was home to check me into my charming bedroom. She went out of her way to explain everything so that I felt immediately at home. The location was perfect for me because it was 2 blocks away from my son's appartement. I also enjoyed the two large windows of my bedroom looking onto a quiet street. All was very clean and practical. I highly recommend Jessica's room and will send my daughter to stay with her on her next visit.

Australian-born and raised, I've lived in Kreuzberg, the centre of my Berlin universe, for 10 years now and absolutely consider it home. The city is a mecca for creative and adventurous humans. I go to a concert, DJ set or live show *at least* once a week. We're so spoiled here!

I love riding my bike. Meeting for breakfast. I love work, friends, this wicked city which I still adore to explore. My desires are simple: a delicious meal, quiet moments in a busy day. To make my world a little more beautiful. All humans are welcome in my place.
