About this listing
Share my large and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with huge windows, street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor. Un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage, half street-style. The room accommodates up to three comfortably.
Your room in a large and comfortable Berlin style "Alt-Bau" apartment with a street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor.
// BERLINALE BOOKINGS CAN BE FOR THE ENTIRE 2BR APARTMENT (up to 5 guests maximum) PLEASE ASK FOR PRICE //
The photos show only one room, but there are two fully furnished 25 square metre double bedrooms with connecting balcony. I live in one side, the other is yours. The apartment is un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage half street style. So you can expect the original architectural and ornamental interior style of the area, sporting a romantic amount of damage. The apartment is very cosy, a great place to curl up with a book and listen for not so distant sirens and Kreuzberg chaos. Or a perfect base from which to explore Berlin.
Wireless internet (can be connected to all devices 24/7), dishwasher, gas cooking and heating, 2nd floor (there's no elevator, escalator or anything like that, so I would say it's not wheelchair accessible…), sunshine from 9am - 2pm in Summer, but the curtains will protect you if you want to sleep late.
*This isn't an ideal space for very young children, from 8 or 9 is just fine*
Access all areas except for my bedroom when I'm home :)
Interaction with Guests
I'm really happy to welcome you in my home and answer any questions to assist you with your adventure.
Stumbling distance from nightlife, 24 hour public transport, Görlitzer Park, local markets and galleries. 12 minutes into the city centre by train. A lazy afternoon in the sun by the canal is only a 5 minute walk away. Berlin's best known clubs (and some you might like to know about…) are within walking distance. Berghain is €12 by taxi or 15 minutes by bicycle.
Every Tuesday and Friday there's a fresh produce market across the canal at the bottom of the street. There's a great laundromat about a block away, several local supermarkets and night shops, plenty of bars. Everything's affordable still; it's Kreuzberg.
The best cheesecake I've ever had in my life can be found in a café a short walk from the apartment. It's unbelievable. They also roast and blend their own coffee beans. This café has saved my life. OMG the cheesecake…
Public transit is very easy and close by, as is cheap bike hire. My boyfriend keeps a lady's and man's bike just for our guests, please ask for a quote if you'd like to rent one for your stay. He lives very close by and can deliver the bike or you can pick it up from him.
12 minutes into the city centre by train.
Taxi to/from the airport: €34 for TXL and €40 for SXF.
Though we're utterly surrounded with bars and clubs and restaurants, this apartment is a little home oasis in the Kreuzberg chaos. Thus, it's not the place for your after-party! You can hear the neighbours and the neighbours can hear you. (A little bit - you just have to be considerate about making noise in the stairs and walk gently late at night!!).
Absolutely do not bring unregistered guests into my home without permission.
Quiet time in the building is from 10p.m. til 8a.m. Basic system to keep our house happy is turn the music down in the evenings and smoke on the balcony or in the kitchen. To keep the neighbours happy: light feet!
It's illegal to download films and music through torrent/file-sharing software in Germany. If you have this software on your computer, make sure it is disabled BEFORE you connect to the internet at my place. The internet password is changed for each booking.
Smokers are welcome to use the balcony.
