The Space

A large and comfortable Berlin style room with a street-side balcony, high ceiling and wooden floor.

The apartment is un-renovated and furnished in the typical Berlin half vintage half street style. So you can expect the original architectural and ornamental interior style of the area, sporting a romantic amount of damage. The apartment is very cosy, a great place to curl up with a book and listen for not so distant sirens and Kreuzberg chaos.

Wireless internet (can be connected to all devices 24/7), dishwasher, gas cooking and heating, 2nd floor (there's no elevator, escalator or anything like that, so I would say it's not wheelchair accessible…), sunshine from 9am - 2pm in Summer, but the curtains will protect you if you want to sleep late.

Stumbling distance from nightlife, 24 hour public transport, Görlitzer Park, local markets and galleries. 12 minutes into the city centre by train. A lazy afternoon in the sun by the canal is only a 5 minute walk away. Berlin's best known clubs (and some you might like to know about…) are within walking distance. Berghain is €10 by taxi or 15 minutes by bicycle.

Every Tuesday and Friday there’s a fresh produce market across the canal at the bottom of the street. There's a great laundromat about a block away, several local supermarkets and night shops, plenty of bars. Everything's affordable still; it's Kreuzberg.

The best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life can be found in a café a short walk from the apartment. It’s unbelievable. They also roast and blend their own coffee beans. This café has saved my life. OMG the cheesecake…

*I live/work in the apartment, (though when I have guests I am often away) and can be on hand to help with directions, inspiration, a cup of coffee, a nightcap, bike hire, Berlin club culture tips, lighting the stove, anything you might need!*

*For groups of three or four: I have two large, comfortable, firm, single foam mattresses placed next to the existing double bed or in cases booking the entire apartment, in a separate room. There is no longer a desk in the room, so there's plenty of space*

The photos and pricing show only one room, but there are two fully furnished 25 square metre rooms with connecting balcony. If you're interested to take the whole apartment (sleeps four), that's totally possible! Just hit me up for the cost and further information.

**I have another fully furnished room at the Kottbusser Brücke available from 15 OCTOBER for a weekly or monthly rate. Best for one person.**

*This isn't an ideal space for young children*

  • Jessica's house was lovely. Spacious, clean, great location and slept really well there.

She was really quick at replying to my emails and texts, gave great information on how to find her place and had no problem waiting up for us with our late flight.

  • I stayed at Jessica's place with my husband and sister for two nights. It was perfect!! The location was wonderful, we walked and took public transportation all over the city from there, enjoyed the wonderful cafe for breakfast next door, and despite being in a busy neighborhood the apartment felt quiet and cozy. Jessica was very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed when we arrived before leaving us on our own, but she was available by email throughout our stay so we felt very secure. Thank you Jessica!

  • Jessica was an excellent host and I'm confident my trip wouldn't have been the same without her. She had some great recommendations on non-touristy sites and places to eat, provided maps and guides, and her alt-bau is a beautiful space in the heart of the coolest neighborhood in the city. Highly recommended!

My Name is Claude (Manager/Agent)
Australian born and raised, I've lived in Kreuzberg, the centre of my Berlin universe, for 6 years now and absolutely consider it home. The city is a mecca for creative and adventurous humans. I go to a concert or live show at least once a week. We're so spoiled here! I love riding my bike. Meeting for breakfast. I love work, friends, this wicked city which I adore to explore. My desires are simple: a delicious meal, quiet moments in a busy day. To make my world a little more beautiful. I love to read. And I can't live without music. I live in the "Typical Alt-bau" with the pink curtains, and the other apartment "Kotti/Landwehr Kanal" is my boyfriend's place around the corner. If you stay with either of us you'll probably meet us both at some point. We both love traveling, music, food, drinking in bars and dancing in clubs. We love meeting new friends!
