Guests comment that the photos don't illustrate how large & comfortable the room is or how interesting the house is. Half the house is a New England Cape Cod, the other half is an Industrial addition, with finishes in copper, iron, wood and stone. Views are spectacular year round.
In regards to location: In the colder months, a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Church St. may feel a bit long (and cold), but it's a the trade-off for spectacular views from sunrise to sunset. In the warmer months, you'll be right on the waterfront, and the bike path plus an enjoyable spot with constant lake breezes.

Interaction with Guests
This is a "help-yourself" house. It is designed for independent travelers who are comfortable with letting themselves in and out of the house and helping themselves to morning coffee. I'm home 90% of the time and happy to assist you with your travel itinerary. I'm also comfortable with guests that simply want a place to stay without a lot of conversation.
Official check-in time starts at 3pm and check-out time is 11:00 am. I am flexible on arrival and departure times.
The house is located in Burlington's historic Old North End. My street, Lakeview Terrace is considered "the gem" of the neighborhood because it is situated on a high bluff offering expansive and unobstructed views of Lake Champlain and The Adirondacks. 3 min. walk to Battery Park and the Waterfront, and 15 min. walk to downtown Church St. Marketplace.
Walking is best. Public transportation (bus) is not necessary or recommend. There is a bus to the airport but taxi or car is the easiest way to arrive/ depart Burlington.
Other Things to Note
There is a friendly cat (Clyde) that lives on the premises. I cannot accept reservations if you have a cat allergy.
No pets or tobacco smoking please. Cannabis ok outside.
Staying at Julie's place was an absolute pleasure. Not only was Julie kind and welcoming, but she offered helpful advice about the Burlington area. Her home was immaculate and beautifully decorated, and the room in which we stayed was spacious and pristine. While we were initially distracted by her friendly cat Clyde, it didn't take us long to discover just how special Julie's place is when we stepped out onto to the deck off our room to one of the best views of Lake Champlain that we've ever experienced. There was a very nice sense of privacy and we were still able to walk downtown in 10 minutes. The room is unbelievably affordable and we'd feel lucky to stay here again. Julie has easily cultivated a 5 star stay.
We came here for a birthday celebration and it was perfect. The description was spot on and Julie was very accommodating and helpful. The views of the lake were gorgeous. Location to everything is super close. The house was cozy and stunning with amazing funky metal artwork which was really fun to see. We brought our bikes and got around easily. The neighborhood felt safe but Julie let us keep our bikes close. Thanks for a great time!
I really loved staying at Julie's! She was welcoming and helpful with local information. I went to two restaurants she recommended and they were both very nice!! The room was clean and cozy, and it really had a beautiful view of the lake! I could only stay there one night because of my schedule, but I would have enjoyed staying there a few more nights! Highly recommended.
Great stay ! Julie is a great host and her restaurants, shops, etc. recommandations were awesome. Hope to come back soon.
We were absolutely delighted to be Julie's guests in her stunning house in Burlington. That view is simply breathtaking, we definitely appreciated the artistic touches to her deco and Julie is by all means a terrific host: accommodating, communicative and really laid back. She gave us great recommendations about what to see and visit - all very much worth it. We can't wait to go back and visit her again!
Julie welcomed us into her amazing home with kindness and an awesome guide around town. Burlington Vermont is truly a wonderful place to explore. Julie had some great recommendations on her guide list especially restaurants and bars. The room we stayed in was huge and even more amazing than the pics on airbnb. We had a private bath which was a plus and seriously the best view of the lake right when we woke up each morning! It was a short stay of two nights but we will definitely be back for more. Julie is a wonderful host and her home is the coolest! Thanks again.

We had a one night stay in Burlington on the way to Montreal, and we couldn't have picked a better place. Julie was very accomodating and friendly, and the room, indeed, had the best lakeview in Burlington. Julie offered a guide that answered all questions about checking-in and what was available to us during our stay in her home (wifi, coffee, parking, etc), and she also had a very helpful guide of the city!
Working professional, easy going and very accommodating. I run a "help yourself house." I'm happy to help you seek out local restaurants, specialty stores and tourist sites. My intent is to offer a simple, comfortable and clean accommodation at a reasonable price. I'm seeking guests who want comfort, convenience and a unique setting but do not require a lot of personal attention. Thanks for reading.
