LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
I (the Renter) recognize that vacationing at a beach town in Mexico is inherently different than living in or vacationing in the United States or Canada. Accidents may occur for a variety of reasons including but not limited to swimming pools without fences or lifeguards, beaches without lifeguards or swimming danger warnings, bars which will serve liquor to anyone who orders (regardless of age), balconies, windows and stairways without fall protection devices, lack of smooth roads and sidewalks, vacationers' ability to over-indulge and become careless, as well as different codes, laws and traditions for construction, activities and safety, and many other conditions.
I (the Renter) am aware of the risks and I take responsibility for all damages to myself and any member of my party, including those who accompany me or visit any member of my party in the complex. I expressly release from liability all individual owners and landlords, and all other renters and/or occupants of the house I am renting, and owners of other houses in the complexes in and around the location where this rental is located, as well as any agent of the houses, for any damage to me or any member of my party for any reason. I further agree to hold harmless all individual owners and landlords and agents of this rental, for any and all claims arising as a result of my rental of house(s) or property. That is, during the term of my rental I agree to accept full legal responsibility for all damages to myself and to all members of my party and to all guests of myself and members of my party.
I understand that this waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law, and agree that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder of the waiver will continue to be in full legal force and effect. I further agree that the venue for any legal proceedings shall be via arbitration in the state of Nayarit, Mexico, and in no other venue.
I affirm that I am of legal age and freely signing this agreement. I have read this form as well as the rules of occupancy, and fully understand that by signing this form, I am giving up legal rights and/or remedies which may be available to me for the negligence of the owner(s), landlord(s) or other agents or parties listed above.
Casa Brava was absolutely gorgeous. It was the perfect amount of space to accommodate a couple. Plan to rent a golf cart as the space is a bit removed from town, on a beautiful hill overlooking Sayulita. We personally enjoyed renting the cart and the location was tranquil and quiet. We enjoyed our stay so much we asked to extend and unfortunately it was booked. Would most definitely stay here again.
The studio loft was a great place to stay. Comfortable and secure. Up in the hill just entering town... It was a simple and easy walk into the middle of everything. Felipe was there to greet us at check in and say goodbye when we left. We had a great stay and would recommend to others staying in Sayulita.
Casa Brava Ocean View Studio loft was a wonderful place to stay in Sayulita. This was my 6th visit and I really enjoyed staying up on the hill more than I expected. The views are gorgeous, space very well appointed, and Fillipe is incredibly helpful. An all around wonderful experience!
The host was great at communicating all relevant and helpful information prior to our trip and also followed up with me during the trip.
Oh, how sad to be home and having to write this review :(
Wishing, (dreaming), that I was still in Sayulita, drinking my morning tea on the little balcony listening to the chichacalas singing in the trees outside my casita (studio).
This studio seriously was a godsend, while I looked for a mini retreat away from the hustle and bustle of my city life. It was the perfect size for me and had everything I needed.
Now, Dale (and other guests) are really clear about the hill up to the house - but boy oh boy is that hill something else! Especially in 90 degree weather with like 50% humidity. Good thing there was an AMAZING shower with jungle views and double showerheads waiting for me at the top of the hill to cool off with :)
Though it was my third time in Sayulita, I have to say... at times I did feel SO far away. I ended up renting a bike (to bop around town and other beaches with), and ultimately got a car for my last few days.
The space is really amazing, and soooo worth the effort up the hill (gotta say, my legs were looking pretty great by the end of the trip), but if it's your first time to Sayulita, I could see this being a bit too far removed from the action. Plus, even though it's totally safe at night, the walk away from town at night on the main road can be kind of scary (I would definitely encourage a flashlight).
Despite a minor hiccup (a pretty intense rainfall left my bed completely soaked due to a water leak), it wasn't enough to sour my time there.
All in all, I LOOOOOVED my stay sooo so much. I can't wait to go back, as I usually feel after coming back from Sayulita. Only next time, I'm splurging for the pool!
Arriving at Casa Brava laws a wonderful experience. We were staying in the studio but had the opportunity to look around the entire property before the other guests arrived. It was absolutely stunning. We had a great stay in our unit and you couldn't even tell you were part of a larger house. Being able to drink the water in the house was a huge convenience. Felipe was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying in Casa Brava, however next time I will stay in the main house with its amazing pool and patio areas.
This was a perfect little place for two to stay in the beautiful town of Sayulita. Exquisite modern architecture with stunning views and comfortable accommodations. Dale provided very comprehensive information, including favorite restaurants and destinations and nearby hospitals, which was very helpful. There was a nice bottle of tequila waiting for us upon arrival, which was very thoughtful and a great start to our trip! It's on the top of a big hill so bring your hiking legs or rent a golf cart. The view and the breeze are worth the climb.
It would have been nice if there were more hooks to hang towels and wet swimsuits, etc. This is, after all, a beach vacation destination. The hot water in the shower was very inconsistent so we took a couple of cold showers.
I don't think I would have any other complaints, except that part of the welcome packet / house manual is very misleading. It lead me to believe that the groundskeeper would be very accessible and that his wife would change our towels every other day and come in as "housekeeping." It said we could even ask her to do our laundry or make us a meal, and even told us the suggested tip amount. The packet made me feel like we would be taken care of to the point that I felt compelled to bring a gift, which the groundskeeper accepted without hesitation or even thanks. However, we did not once see the groundskeeper or his wife during our stay except for check in / out. There was absolutely no housekeeping, and no one replaced our towels. There were only 2 bath towels and 2 beach towels so we tried to call for more, but could never reach the groundskeeper. We ended up reusing our damp sandy towels every day.
I don't expect Airbnb to provide housekeeping or towel service. If I hadn't read the welcome packet, I would have packed my own extra towels. If they hadn't set us up to expect to feel so well taken care of, we would have been very happy with taking care of ourselves. Instead, we felt confused and mislead. My guess is that the welcome packet only applies to the main house and not the studio unit, but this isn't made explicit.
That said, I would stay here again. I'll just pack extra towels next time.
