A spacious room with a window and ceiling fan and access to washer and dryer, TV, and a closet for your clothes. The room has 2 full sized mattresses, a futon, a closet, central A/C, and free Wifi.
The house is located on the corner of Hartsfield and Cumberland dr., right off of mission road by Tallahassee community college, ten minutes from downtown Tallahassee and FSU. It's a 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop.
Park in the yard beside one of our cars.
I live with my brother, Tom. The neighborhood is safe and no one makes noise except for us. there's a really good korean bbq down the road from the house and i bartend at Bird's Aphrodisiac Oyster Shack (awesome oysters and even better burgers).
If you are looking for a five star room with mints on the pillows, this is NOT the place. The house was built in 1983. It is in good condition for it's age, however, guests should prepare to see some dust on the shelves and to hear a squeaky door or two. Regardless, i assure you the house is clean and sanitary.
Those who are prudent need not inquire. LGBTQ friendly.

My intention was to get away and isolate myself to work on my business; James's place was perfect for this trip. Both the brothers, James and Tom, were accommodating and respectful. More importantly, they were easy going and fun people to hang out with. Tom is an avid chess player and I thoroughly enjoyed our two games (too bad we couldn't finish the 10 games as planned). James and Tom were very nice, intellectual and understanding. This was my first experience with airbnb and I got exactly what I wanted. I found an optimal place and made new friends as well; I couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away from the daily grind. I will definitely go back to visit them. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, then this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a comfortable place, with minimal distractions and great people, then this is the place to be.
YES. James and his brother Tom were fabulous. I'd pay 25 bucks just to meet them, but I got a room for the night, too! James actually picked me up from the bus station so I didn't have to get a taxi, which was awesome. They are generous, laid-back, easy people to talk to. The room is exactly as described, and the company and conversations were even better. I'm happy to share a planet with them, and hope I see them again in the future.
James was great and the place was just what I needed! with a private room, comfortable bed, private bath, and convenient location to the Interstate. I appreciated the warm bathroom and house, as the weather was freezing outside. The description of the place and reviews are accurate, so no surprises. And best of all, great price.
I haven't stayed long. Only one night. But the place was decent enough for the price you pay. Also James was friendly although he had a cold.
This was my first experience with Airbnb, it was one night, work related, and very last minute. I was in late and out early. James responded within minutes of my request and was very accommodating. I didn't have an opportunity to meet him or his brother, but he seemed cool enough over the phone.
Overall (accommodations), depending on your standards, could be the right place for you . If you're a clean freak, this isn't for you, he warns you. For me, one time was fine, a second time, probably not. I did the $25 option and the pics shown on main page, were not of that room, but of the VIP room. I later found the $25 room pics in another link, after I arrived at house. I don't know if that's how he set it up, an Airbnb error, or my tablet error.
Overall (communication), with James was very positive. He was very friendly, accommodating and I think I would definitely enjoy grabbing a beer and having a good conversation with him and his brother.
I'm not sure why the pictures would be mixed up. The big room is clearly listed as the $50 option, and the smaller room is labeled as the $25 option. I checked the photos and they were all labeled accurately, so it may've been your tablet or you misread it. Either way, c'est la vie.
James was a great host and the room was exactly what I needed. I was in town for business at FSU and just needed a place to stay for one night. I didn't realize I was going to have so much fun with my host! We played chess and talked quite a bit. I even had lunch with James and his brother before I left town.
The room was clean and James provided fresh linens and a towel. The place itself is not luxurious but if you need an inexpensive place to stay, I'd recommend staying with James.
We had a really warm welcome and James & Tom were friendly & easy going hosts. I love staying in Airbnb places where you get a chance to talk to your hosts. Tom met us at the house & we went to the bar James worked at to say hi. We booked here as a stop over for a long road trip and it was a great place to stay. We also had breakfast with James & his girlfriend before we got on the road the next day. All top people to hang out with.
James and his brother seemed to be nice people and the communication prior and after our stay was very friendly and helpful.
We left the place after one night (we had booked 3) because our standards concerning sanity and cleanliness were a bit different. James was so understanding to accept our cancellation.
If you are looking for a cheap place and you are not too picky, this place might be okay for you.
This was my first time using airbnb. James was great and I'll be staying there again. I felt like I was staying with old friends.
