The entire 3rd floor of this 1890's brick house is available for guests. The space was renovated about 16 years ago and a bathroom was added between the two bedrooms. Although there are two bedrooms available, the entire space will be rented to only one party at a time to ensure privacy. The queen sized bed in one room and double bed in the other gives space for 4 adults. We can also provide a single mattress on the floor for a child or for smaller children, there is a Pack 'N Play available. Continental style breakfast available each morning with flexible time schedule.
PLEASE NOTE: additional charge applies if both rooms requested for single occupancy each.
Guests will have access to the first floor living room during evening hours. Also there are two rocking chairs on the front porch and lounge chairs on the back deck which can be used during warm weather. Free wi-fi is available at all levels in the house and on front porch and back deck. Free on-street parking is usually available near our house.
Both of us are retired with fairly flexible schedules. We are involved in various volunteer activities but we will enjoy interacting with our guests as time permits. However, we also value our own privacy and we will respect that of our guests as well.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Very cozy and clean. Ken and Elizabeth were very sweet and accommodating. We missed the hot breakfast, though. We would definitely come again.
We were made to feel most welcome by Ken & Elizabeth, who had previously given tips as to what to see in the area. The room and bed were comfortable, and Ken's blueberry pancakes were a treat,
Ken and Elizabeth welcomed my girlfriend and I into their home with open arms and big smiles. Their house looked beautiful and the bed to sleep in was super comfortable. Plus, being that they live so close to everything in downtown Lancaster it made the stay even better. Would highly suggest staying with them!
Clean and comfortable room. Elizabeth and Ken are great hosts. Thank you!
I'll start off by saying I had a wonderful stay with Liz and Ken!
This was my first Airbnb experience and I was open to the concept. My 13 yo daughter, however, was pretty anxious about staying in a strangers home as she put it. Fair enough - I understood the concern, but it didn't stop me from booking the rental ;0)
When we arrived Ken was up to welcome us. I arrived a bit later than I anticipated, however, Ken was very gracious and showed us where we'd be staying, where the kitchen area was, what he had to offer for breakfast, the key situation, etc. My daughter felt much more comfortable once we met Ken. In the morning Ken and Liz had fresh cinnamon bread (my daughter's favorite), homemade granola (yum!), cereal, milk, juice, and tea. We aren't heavy breakfast eaters so what was offered was PERFECT! On the first morning we all sat and chatted for awhile and afterwards my daughter said she thought Ken and Liz were very nice people - which, of course, is a win when dealing with a teenager! ;0)
The rooms - and especially the bed - were very comfortable. My daughter was attending a sporting tournament so we were out most of the day and didn't return until late evening. But, again, the rooms were ideal for our purposes.
I wish we could have another tournament in the area just so I could book with Ken and Liz again! ;0)
My visit with Kenneth and Elizabeth was short and sweet as I was just passing thru Lancaster to break up a long road trip. It was cold and rainy upon my arrival and they made me feel welcomed and warmed. I was tired and Elizabeth gave me just the right amount of information to settle me in and relax. When I was ready to venture out again to eat they steered me toward a variety of restaurants a short walk from there home. I was able to walk to them and felt safe as I passed others walking their pets, etc. There was a variety of places to choose from, ethnic, upscale bistro, cafe, and low budget eateries. They supplied a quiet, clean and gracious place to rest with a third floor view of the street. This may seem a simple appreciation but I like to read before I sleep and I appreciate a lamp next to the bed to read by. I have been to several air b&b's with no bedside lamp. I left before they woke but felt rested and grateful to them for making the process so easy, friendly and straight forward.
Ken & Elizabeth are friendly, warm and welcoming host. We visit Lancaster a couple times a year and we love that we found a lovely home with lots of privacy. Pancake breakfast with fresh blueberries were delightful. And we loved the walkable location, close to restaurants, theaters and more! We also enjoyed the conversation during breakfast. Thank you!
Elizabeth retired mid-2013 as pastor of a Mennonite Church in Lancaster City and Ken retired from work in a non-profit providing victim-offender conferencing for youth offenders. We have lived in East Africa for 9 years and have traveled to Spain, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Italy and Turkey. We enjoy simple modest living.
