About this listing
I'm very open to consider extended stays during autumn and winter. The apartment has a beautiful and easy to operate wood-burning stove, with wood provided. I also provide electric heaters and comfy feather duvets.
Beautiful sunny apartment, for short/medium/long let. You will enjoy lots of natural light, a memorable sunrise and sunset, and total privacy... The apartment is fully furnished, and I'll supply all the fresh linen and towels. There is Wi-Fi throughout the apartment, as well as a cable TV connection with plenty of series and films, all in their original languages. Kitchen fully equipped, also washing machine.
My apartment is on the top floor of a 3-floor building and has a charming, peaceful terrace overlooking the Tagus River. It is a beautiful, safe area, in the antique part of Lisbon, near the Castle, Alfama and Graça. You can walk to Museu do Fado (our national song and UNESCO heritage], visit our beloved 400-year-old flea market, the Miradouro da Graça, the National Pantheon, the José Saramago Foundation (our Literature Nobel Prize), and much more... all within a short walking distance.
To get to the apartment, there is a very convenient Metro connection from the airport to Santa Apolónia station; then it's just a 5mn ride on the bus or taxi up the hill. If you feel fit, you can even walk up, but it's steep (hence the great view!) :)
Also available in the apartment, to be borrowed: great books in English, German, French, Italian, etc., maps of the city, great tips about where to go and what to do...
Lisbon is a paradise for walkers, and for people who enjoy lively, old streets, belvederes, a perfect fusion of modern and genuine old heritage. Just like Rome, it is set on 7 hills and they all have interesting different cultural aspects and history.
There are buses and a metro line which is 3 stations away from the famous Bairro Alto and Chiado, the shopping city center, where you can find all the international brands, and also lots of trendy bars and elegant restaurants. If you prefer, you will also find bohemian bars and the famous "Tascas", (inexpensive family-run restaurants) with great food and atmosphere... You'll get there in 10/15mn... you can even walk there!
From the lively city center, we have a night bus that stops only a few meters from my apartment, very safe and the same price as the day line (1,80€), short ride, 10 minutes or less. A taxi ride from the nightlife area to the apartment costs around 6-7€ during the night.
If you arrive in Lisbon by car, there is on-street parking right in front of the apartment, and you can leave your car there for as long as you like, and for free!
This is going to be a trip to remember, full of great memories to keep and cherish! Portuguese people are very welcoming and when you smile and are polite, they will go out of their way for you! :)
Guest will have access to everything inside the apartment, all the equipment is in full working order, you can use the LCD TV, watch videos, read books and magazines, and enjoy a fast internet service.
Interaction with Guests
I'll be there to welcome you, give you the keys, and explain everything... after that, you'll have total privacy. I'll be available to answer all your questions, by mail or phone... if necessary, I'll go to the apartment to sort out something by your request.
Peaceful and very safe area, with lots of tradicional shops. Nice neighbours who deserve respect and not to be disturbed at night,
Great bus/metro connections. Night bus availble throughout the night, every night, just around the corner.
Please, treat my home as if it was yours; it was made available to you on a basis of total trust and respect... :)
