What a great host and a terrific forest time NOLA experience! Joseph was interesting, polite and very kind to my wife and I on our honeymoon. We had such a wonderful stay, enjoyed the city, the weather and biking all over during our stay. Accommodations were clean, cute, comfortable and relaxing. The Jacuzzi and courtyard have a fantastic charm and added to the trip. Any host who provides a French press to their guests gets extra points from this coffee snob. And delicious dark roast to boot!
The Carriage House was perfect. We arrived to the wine/cheese/bread trio and it was just the right touch to wash away a stressful road trip. The pictures don't do the accommodations justice.
Hosts Paul and Joe have really put love and sweat resources into TCH to make it a truly special place that goes beyond the facade. Be ready for a stream of friendly hosts including "Treme", the extra friendly Sci-fi/fantasy looking dog. Paul himself goes the extra mile (metaphorically too) to see that his guests are enjoying their visit :).
We'd definitely stay here again. We initially rented the place for the proximity to attractions, and the HOT TUB! The hot in itself is nice but everything else was superb. Great job Paul and Joe! Kudos and Allons on to your next experiment.
Places we ate nearby that were delicious...Parkway Poboys, Coco Hut Caribbean food, Cafe Degas French, Cafe P(website hidden).
This carriage house was so quaint and the perfect little get away for us! Joseph was a great host and very accommodating with our travel times. He got back to me regarding any questions or concerns in a very short time. The outdoor shower was amazing! The house was pretty close to public transportation and it was also easy enough to call a taxi to get downtown. We would definitely come back here again!
The carriage house was everything we hoped for and more! It was such a wonderful place to stay while in the Big Easy- and the location is perfect for biking around to Frenchman St., the French Quarter, City Park and the Bywater. It was so lovely to stay here, we will definitely be coming back soon! Also, the hot tub is a dream and the outdoor shower is magic! We have never felt so relaxed :)
Our host was very accommodating, we were allowed to check out a little later and borrow the bikes. It was such a nice touch having cheese and wine waiting for us when we arrived as well as info on Mardi Gras. It was brilliant having a hot tub on the roof!
Amazing spot on a living NOLA street. We felt so welcomed by the host, the resident pup was adorable and friendly. We went into the roof hot tub every night. Note, the bathroom/shower is disconnected from your living space- feels like your own little sanctuary.
On our last day, there was a MLK zulu parade going down the street right in front of the house- amazing send off for us! We had a blast exploring the French Quarter, Garden District and By Water from here, not walk-able though, $10 taxi ride generally and they get there fast.
We really enjoyed our time at the Carriage House. Joe is an excellent host. Everything was beautiful and Joe's hospitality can't be matched. The place is perfectly located near the City Park area and Midtown, with close access to the French Quarter. We rode the bikes that were graciously provided all around, or used the bus. There is little need for a car if you are staying here. The back yard is absolutely beautiful. The room is well temperature controlled, the bed is comfortable, and the outdoor shower is a wonderful experience that I never knew I was missing. Joe went out of his way to be hospitable to us and make sure we were provided with anything we needed and wanted. We had the opportunity to spend some time with him and his friends, who showed us genuine New Orleans hospitality and generosity. There are several nice restaurants nearby, including one excellent one that was recommended to us when we checked in. Bath robes and ample towels were provided. There was a great deal of flexibility with our check-in and check-out, which made the experience even more wonderful for us. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and we could not have picked a better place. I would recommend this to anyone.
