From the moment you walk through our door you will feel comfortable. We will welcome you to our warm and charming apartment & provide you with a clean and quiet room. We are just blocks from Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens & the subway.
As you will be staying with us in our apartment, I will need to know about you, and your plans for your New York adventure. To this end I will need to have a conversation with you before I will even consider accepting your booking. If you make a reservation request before emailing with me, I will decline it. If you do come to stay with us, you will have a great private, quiet bedroom in our apartment. The room has a Queen-sized bed that is quite comfortable. We have all the basic things you would have at home There is a shared bathroom, and a full, but somewhat small kitchen. We have Wi-Fi, but no television. Who needs a TV when you have New York steps outside your door! We are close to the 2 and 5 trains and 3 blocks from the Q train, making anywhere in Manhattan easily accessible. A half a block past the Q train is the entrance to Prospect Park, a real hidden gem of a public space. Our corner of the park is home to the newly opened LeFrak Center at Lakeside. The brand new public skating rinks are incredible. On street parking is available and readily available within two blocks. We are awesome hosts and have had visitors from all over the world. We sometimes host exchange students visiting New York while taking short courses. A great bonus' to staying with us is that I am a Freelance NYC tour guide and photographer. I have a flexible schedule and would be more than willing to help you see the best that New York has to offer. My wife and I look forward to meeting you and we hope to see you soon.

Interaction with Guests
We love to interact with our guests as much as they would like to interact with us. We are staying in the same space after all.
We live in a real hidden gem of a Brooklyn neighborhood. It is predominently Caribbean but is in the midst of a huge change with many new families and businesses moving in frequently.
We are very close to the B,Q,2, and 5 subway lines and are very well served by public bus lines.
Other Things to Note
Our place has been featured in a story about airbnb and the law in New York on Al Jazeera America TV and I have been quoted in the New Yorker magazine while talking about the same subject.
This city is no joke! Pay attention to where you are and your surroundings. Be smart travelers. Be friendly but not too nice!
No shoes in the house
Any time you come through the front door always lock the bottom lock. Never fasten the chain
No extra guests, no stray people
Keep food to the kitchen dining room area
Respect our apartment as you would and friend or family members house. This is not a hotel it’s our home
Pick up after yourself. No wet towels on the floor or water rings on the furniture
If you are showering or going to be a while in the bathroom, let anyone else in the house know in case they have to go. Don’t take too long in the bathroom, we all have to share it
Put all food away. Most food goes in the refrigerator
Refill water pitcher whenever you use it with cold water
Return showerhead to the neutral position
We share our home with many people. We do not share our bedroom. It is our sanctuary. Please respect our personal space
Have fun and enjoy this incredible city and all it has to offer. If you have any questions or concerns we hope that you will bring them to us as soon as they come up
My stay with David and his wife was amazing. Thank you both for such wonderful and life-changing experiences ever. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about my stay. Very kind and loving people. Thank you.
A very lovely apartment as shown in the pictures. Everything was very clean. The bedroom and bathroom were really cosy. David and Tassy were amazing hosts! They recommended places to visit and restaurants to eat and also ensured we were on the right subway routes. The Gratitude Cafe (three blocks away) recommended by Tassy serves awesome breakfast. We would love to stay here again should we visit NY in the future!
After being highly recommended by my father, I decided to stay with David and Tacey recently as part of my travels in the USA. I was thoroughly impressed and had a wonderful few days with them in Brooklyn. You are made to feel welcome the moment you arrive and David is more than happy to assist you with any queries or questions you may have about the local area, NYC or any touristy things to do.
Their home and the room is very nice and comfortable - very clean, neat and tidy. As the bedroom is at the back of the apartment, it's not noisy at all, and the bed very comfortable - I slept very well! As it was getting cooler, I was always warm at their place and felt quite at home. I was even able to arrange to do some washing in the building, which was very handy for me. You do need to remember that this is their home so I think it's best you speak with them about their schedules so you don't hold them up in the bathroom etc - This was no problem for me, that's just being considerate as a guest :)
It's close to several public transport options, to the beautiful Prospect Park, and various other great spots to explore in Brooklyn. It's a comfortable subway ride to Manhattan, which was great!
David loves to chat and will share great stories and experiences with you about being an Airbnb host - I highly recommend spending some time with him during your stay if you can.
All in all, David and Tacey are very well experienced as being Airbnb hosts so you can be assured that your stay will be a great one if you choose to stay with them :) I look forward to staying with them again in the future!! Thanks again David & Tacey, wishing you both all the best :)
To come to David and Tacey´s place was a real pleasure to me.
They are the nicest persons, make you feel welcome at every moment, nice local tips to enjoy your visit. (and save money... thanks David)
The apartment is cosy and welcoming, located in an authentic neighborhood. Some of the architecture around here is great.
Transportation to other parts of the city not a problem, since two subway lines are at walking distance.
Prospect park 10 minutes walking, nice place to stroll, great atmosphere during the weekend. Nice pizza and pasta right beside the building. Try the Jamaican Patties!!
I like to be part of your wall!!
The room, just as you see in the pictures, super comfy bed good matress. One bathroom to share with the couple, always clean, nice shower. I didnt used the kitchen, but David offered.
All in all, a nice place with a super nice couple.
I was there only for a weekend but I eager to come back as soon as posible!
I was in NY in business trip and could use a hotel, but I really prefer this experience.
if you are thinking in staying with this guys... Go ahead, you will no regret it for sure.
We had great days with David and his wife Tacey. We felt welcomed and comfortable immediately. The room and the flat are cozy and the bed is great. Very fluffy towels are provided, which we did not expect at all. We received great tipps on what we could do and this was much appreciated. The area is good too, close to the subway and in about 15min you're in Manhattan. I highly recommend this stay and will definitely come back again.
I have to say one word: fantastic.
David and his wife are such a nice couple. The place was easy to find and very clean. David gave us useful tips and told us a lot of funny and special stories. There are many metro stations nearby so you can easy have access to every place in NYC. We would love to come back there.
Five stars for them!
This was amazing ! David is really great and was helpful, fantastic advices. New-York is an extraordinary city where everything can happen and we were pleased to visit the most of it :). The flat is well placed near the subway and Manhattan is yours pretty fast. Amazing trip
My wife and I are in our early forties. I am a photographer, tour guide, and entrepreneur. I have a web site for my business heyjoenyc(.)com . We have a great apartment in Prospect Lefferts Garden, Brooklyn. Ours is a three bedroom apartment, our bedroom, a guest room for you, and a room set up as an office with the ability to set up our air bed for use as a third bedroom. Our apartment has been described as lovely, cozy, and welcoming. The neighborhood is up and coming. There are stunning brownstones nearby and we are three blocks from Prospect Park. The #2 and #5 trains are one block away and the Q train is three blocks away from our front door. There is a large Caribbean population in our neighborhood. We have a small cafe within walking distance as well as great Indian, Mexican, and of course Caribbean restaurants.
A little more about me. I love exploring the world and especially New York City. I love new music and I'm a New York City music photographer. I like to cook and try to use natural and healthy ingredients. I like to read classic fiction as well as books on history and sports. My favorite authors are Hemmingway, Kerouac, Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski and Richard Brautigan. I love traveling and meeting new people. I have many friends from Canada, France, Brazil, Spain, and the Czech Republic. I know a few words of French, but I can usually make myself understood no matter what your proficiency is in English.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing what I know about this wonderful city.
