  • Un très bel appartement et des hôtes charmants.

  • Sebastiano and Alexandra exemplify the qualities of the cherished hosts: kind, considerate, generous, friendly and helpful. They met us at Piazzale Roma very punctually, helped us carry our suitcases to their impeccably furnished 2 bedroom apartment a few minutes of walk away.

Their apartment is the logical extension of the aforesaid qualities: very clean, spacious, full of all modern amenities (heat, lightening
+ speedy wireless internet, laundry machine, etc. all worked perfectly), warm and welcoming. The location couldn't be better as it's less than 1 minute walk from San Rocco (the soul of Tintoretto's paintings) and the Friar (Titian's Assumption, Pesaro Madonna and the Bellini tryptich plus many other gorgeous paintings and sculptures). The San Tomas vaporetto stop is only 5 min away.

And the view of the canal from the verandah is just beautiful! Needless to say, we will not hesitate for a moment to return to this great apartment again. Thank you again to both Sebastiano and Alessandra again for our amazing stay in Venice during this trip.

  • Although we arrived very late, Allessandra and Sebastiano picked us up at the Parking and brought us to their beautiful appartment. The place is as nice as shown at the pictures, very clean, and the very friendly hosts also supplied us with some basics in the kitchen as in the bathroom. Last remark. Sensible guests might be somehow irritated by a photo in the entrance showing a man in uniform celebrating the fascistic salute (saluto romano).

    Response from Sebastiano:

This is "Living in the History " and, in this house,, there are many things of the past also, paintig of oldest Venice for example, old tables chairs, fireplace and one historically photograf of Benito Mussolini a very important man of our Nation.

  • We had a great stay in this apartment. Sebastiano and Allessandra both came to pick us up at the train station, showed us around the apartment, and the immediate neighborhood to make sure we knew the streets around the apartment, and where to find key locations (e.g., grocery store, local tourist attractions, and restaurant).
In addition to the pots, pans, and other kitchen "hardware," they kindly provided us with essentials such as coffee, tea, olive oil, and milk. The kitchen also has a dishwasher, which is very convenient if you plan on having a few meals at "home." The bathroom has a washer, also a nice amenity.
The apartment is very centrally located: the train station and Ponte Vecchio are a 5-10 minute walk, but there is also a vaporetto (ferry) stop (San Toma) just a few minutes away if you prefer to take a boat. If you plan on staying a few days, it may be worth getting a vaporetto pass sooner rather than later. The longer the duration of your pass, the cheaper it gets by the day. For example, the 12-hour pass is 18 euros, but the 48 hour pass is 30, and the week-long pass is 50. You can buy passes at the San Toma stop. If you plan on walking, you will find signs to the Ponte Vecchio on most streets from the apartment. After the Ponte Vecchio, you will find signs for the Piazza San Marco. When you are looking to come back, follow directions for the Ponte Vecchio, after which the signs for the Ferrovia (train station) will take you in the correct general direction.
The apartment is comfortable, and has AC, which was a nice amenity when we were there, but is most likely key when the weather gets hot and humid.
If our travels take us back to Venice, we will definitely consider this apartment again.

  • There are not enough positive things we can say about the Living in the History apartment. Sebastiano and Alessandra made our trip to Venice one we'll never forget. They are best hosts we've ever stayed with, period.

We traveled to Italy with two children under two. They met us at the station and insisted on carrying our luggage, which we very heavy. A big relief for us. It allowed us to actually enjoy our first minutes in Venice, which looking around wasn't the same for others, vs sweating where we needed to go or how we got everything across the bridges.

They had milk for the babies and, completely unexpected but so appreciated, the air set very comfortably to make sure the babies were comfortable. They think of everything and sincerely care about making sure you have a great trip.

When we come back to Venice there is no question that we will rent this place again. Other benefits include being able to have direct (no-bridge crossings) access to the S. Toma stop. This offers both the crowded 1 and less crowded and quicker line 2 water taxis. Lastly, being off the main touristy traps makes it a nice and enjoyable experience with easy access to some of the best food we had in Italy.

  • We had a really good experience with the place. Sabastiano was on time and walked us over to the apartment - which is exactly 7 minutes.

As it was usually hot, Sebastiano had the air condition on already when we arrived, so it was great! They show us everything, and toiletries were ready. In the Fridge a fresh bottle of milk as well! We felt very welcome.

The location was the whole point of us renting the apartment, it was good and quiet. Walking to Rialto Bridge is about 10~15 min through a series of allies lined with small shops. Eating was very convenient - there were couple of Pizza/Panini shops as well as restaurants near by (2 min walk) and the supermarket is about 3 minutes walk from the apartment.

The apartment was spotless and there were a lot a personal touches, so we really felt like it was home. Everything was in perfect working condition and pretty much everything you can think of in terms of usual cooking were there and a nice dishwasher.

  • The apartment was absolutely beautiful! The pictures and description are accurate; the home is wonderful. The location is excellent and quiet in the evenings. The air conditioning works great, it turned out to be a bit of a hot spell while we were there so we appreciated the air conditioning. The apartment is spotless and very well equipped, wireless worked great. We have stayed in very nice hotels over the years and I can honestly say this apartment has them all beat, having two bedrooms was great for my family.

Alesandra and Sebastiano were great hosts and met us at the bus terminal when we arrived from the airport. Meeting us was essential and much appreciated since finding your way around in Venice can be a challenge if your not familiar. They explained everything about the home that we needed to know. They were kind enough to walk us to a nearby restaurant since we arrived late in the evening.

Overall great experience in Venice thanks to the wonderful apartment and great hosts.

  • We loved our stay at the Sartori's home! The apartment is in a wonderful neighborhood. Very easy to get around and a Vaporetto stop nearby. The apartment is spacious with a lovely balcony to have breakfast. The kitchen had everything you could need for a long stay and the washing machine was very helpful! Wifii was excellent. They even provided some breakfast snacks, coffee, milk etc. which was helpful to begin our week. The Sartori's were kind enough to meet us very late at night after our plane was delayed. They were wonderful hosts. My highest recommendation.

  • The hosts were there to greet us and explained the conveniences of the apartment. They were very cordial, and the apartment was clean and comfortable. The apartment is well-located in Venice. We enjoyed our three-day visit very much and would recommend this location to anyone interested.
