This Balinese style cottage is located on a gorgeous hill side and has stunning views of the ocean and the Forbidden island of Niihau. Marvel at splendid sunsets and magnificent star filled night skies.
While you are hidden off the access road, Puu Road is a favorite off the beaten track circular route for walkers, joggers and the views from atop the Kukiolona Park are also spectacular. (Also has a 9 hole golf course). Five mins drive and you can enjoy any number of Kalaheo resturants from the steak house to Italian, Chinese take away, Brick Oven Pizza and the Kalaheo Coffee shop is a favorite with the locals.

  • This place is AMAZING...the house is gorgeous and the view is spectacular! My mom & I stayed here for a few days and absolutely loved it...it is well a totally private and totally relaxing place 'to get away from it all'. Neil is a wonderful host; was very responsive beforehand, met us at the property to show us around, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Neil is laid back, well traveled, and a humble expert on any and all thing Kaua'i...we appreciated his great suggestions of things to do & places to go while we were visiting. Neil checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure that we had everything we needed & we really enjoyed his company; he is super friendly & absolutely hilarious!!! ...not to mention talented; he actually built this place himself...amazing! And let me tell you about this gorgeous place...I would call it a Balinese style tree house, that is actually perched up on the side of a hilltop. We loved cooking in the well appointed kitchen & spending lots of time lounging in the comfy hammock on the wrap around deck. There was just about anything you might need at the house...beach chairs, snorkling gear, a grill, beach hats, guide books...even a washer & dryer! Neil, thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with my mom & I ...we will definitely be back!!!

  • This is a great place to stay. The deck is a outstanding. There are no houses nearby, and the view to the ocean and the sunset are picture-perfect. We recommend a bottle of wine and a bit of take-out dinner (Pomodoro's was our choice) for an evening's entertainment. There's a well-stocked, full-size kitchen, lots of living space, and a lovely, comfortable bedroom. Neil is a fantastic host--very gracious and willing to go the extra mile. We have no complaints. Thanks, Neil and Sharon!

Thirty year resident of Kauai who has built various simple Balinese/Polynesian/ Swiss Family Robinson style timber homes in beautiful island settings. First came to Kauai in 1980 as part of long world wide surf odyssey - was on his way to Australia, but fell in love with the island, the way of life and spirit of aloha. Met South African born wife, Sharon, in 2003 on the island. They married on the beach in Poipu in 2005. Both love the island, love hearing the varied fascinating stories people live, and both love to read and travel!
