Hailing from a conservative family, my name is P. Muralitharan (Murali) born and bred in Batticaloa where I spend quality time with my beautiful wife Janu and children Vivikthan and Avatharani. Apart from these beautiful people my mother whom sacrificed her whole life upbringing me also lives with me. I’m a graduate of Eastern University and have honors in Biological Science. I was one of the brightest students and actively involved in many recreational activities. This is the place I was intrigued to create many sculptures which are all around Batticaloa town. Plus I do have a huge private collection at my home and my guest house. During my college days I also intrigued to become a magician and with my best friend we organized many magic shows to raise funds for various college activities. Apart from this I was involved in various types of painting which covered most of my expenses. As my mother single handedly raised me I was bound to contribute some of the expenses incurred. Looking back at my life it has been a great journey, many people have supported me and I have gained valuable experience in the field of Humanitarian work, I have held many positions at Action Against Hunger (ACF), Danish Refugee Council (DRC), UNDP, USAID and United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) before becoming the Head of Mission at Association of Mobilizing Community Resources (AMCOR). In total I have completed more than fifty projects. I’m really thankful to all these organizations for allowing me to work in different districts and a diversified environment. After all these I wanted a career change considering my family, I wanted to spend more time with them as children are growing up and I’m getting older and wiser. When I was nearing my forties I decided to learn and become more like a Dental Technologist. I went abroad to study and spend some time over there learning this new skill for which I am really successful. At present I make Porcelain Fused Metal teeth (PFM) for crown and bridges and implants for a living and since I did not want my past fade away I work as consultant for the same organization which I raised. Prior to getting into a serious business I wanted something to keep me occupied for which I built a small guest house and named as Giant Grass Guest (3G) adjoining my home. I build this thinking that I would rent it out for long lease however I thought sharing this place for many people on a daily basis is much more interesting and we gain much more than dollar’s value. I have gained so much more than dollar’s I have come in contact with different walks of life and gained much of experience. I have travelled around the world which could be for business or pleasure however I was always stuck in congested hotels. If I had a place like what I’m having I would have enjoyed so much more, keeping this in mind I have made all what is needed in my guest house. Welcome to have a pleasant stay at Giant Grass Guest!
