Private double room on the ground floor of our home, which is set in 3 acres of lovely gardens between the Abel Tasman National Park and the Kahurangi National Park.
We are 5 minutes walk from the sea, and 5 minutes drive from the quirky little town of Takaka, for lively cafe culture, the arts and good shopping.
Our home lies down a 200m long tree lined drive, and so is very private and peaceful. Amazing open views of the Kahurangi National Park from the property.
Great tourist area, with many natural beauty spots. Much to see and do if you love the countryside and beaches. Walking on the beach, tramping in the National Parks (Abel Tasman Coastal Track & Heaphy Track), sea kayaking, horse riding, fishing, surfing, scenic flights and wildlife tours are all available in Golden Bay.
We are happy to provide you with a free simple breakfast and, if required, a home cooked hearty evening meal with the family, at $25 per person. We have a guest refrigerator for your picnic foods, but sorry no cooking facilities.
We look forward to meeting you.
Great stay ! Oh lala ! What a peacefull place and Wendy & Patrick are so sweet !! I appreciated when they said me "Our home is your home"... Thank you for all your kidness and delicatess. I recommend to all ! Buy buy home sweet home... ;)
WOW! Just WOW! Look no further. Truly, please DO NOT click away from this page. If you are visiting Takaka, Abel Tasman, or Motueka, this is the place to stay for you! Wendy, Patrick, and Chris were so incredibly generous with everything! We enjoyed every moment of our stay and even extended a night while there! The moment we arrived, Wendy warmed homemade scones, with homemade jams, and gave us some tea. Their home is beautiful and Wendy and Patrick shared their garden, life experiences, and recommendations for our time in the area. They inspired us in so many ways and we are grateful for the blessing of our stay there. Thank you Wendy, Patrick, and Chris!
Wow. It's the first word we said when we pulled up to Wendy and Patrick's (beautiful) property, and it's the word we repeated throughout our stay. Staying with Wendy and Patrick was just what we wanted from an AirBnB experience. The views from their deck are simply gorgeous (enough to apparently convince previous guests to move to NZ!) and the two are an absolute delight as hosts. They provided great suggestions for adventure walks and hikes near the area (not that they're hard to find in Abel Tasman) and were simply a great couple to talk to. We loved meeting the chickens and exploring the garden, football pitch, and even their son's makeshift mountain bike track!
Simply put, if you're in the Abel Tasman area, stay with Wendy and Patrick. You won't regret it.
Wendy and Pat are attentiveand knowledgable hosts with the best home made organic breakfast you'll get your hands on - even in a concious Abel Tasman/Golden Bay area.
What a great place to stay for 3 nights! We wished it was 4 or 5. Definitely spend some more time in the Golden Bay Area with Wendy and Patrick. We had some great suggestions from them on where to go considering the weather conditions and really maximized our time there with their help. We enjoyed sitting outside by their fire and relaxing and chatting with them.
I already want to put my place up on AirBnB due to our wonderful experience with Wendy and Patrick. Thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome and send off! We hope to see you again!
I had the pleasure of staying with Wendy and Patrick for 2 nights. It was a joy to spend time in their lovely home. They have a delightful family and their house is extremely warm and welcoming and they have a tremendous garden in which they take great and rightful pride in. Patrick and Wendy are kind and took great care to make sure I made the most of my visit to Takaka (an amazing area) and I left feeling thankful I had the good fortune to spend time at their home.
The Hardwick Family has a true gem in Golden Bay. We wish we could have spent more than just the two nights. They were great hosts as they answered all our questions and helped us plan an amazing day in the area. Wharariki beach is a must and on the way back so is Mussel Inn for a beer and famous muscles.
Wendy and Pat were fantastic hosts! Their breakfasts were simply amazing- with homemade jam and muesli! We enjoyed our many conversations with them and relaxing and reading on their beautiful patio. Wendy and Pat definitely went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we highly recommend their place for anyone wishing to explore the Golden Bay!
Patrick, Wendy and their son Chris were thoughtful and considerate hosts who did everything they could to help make our stay a truly enjoyable and memorable one. We really emjoyed getting to know them and sampling Pats cooking, which was nearly all prepared with produce from their garden. The local area is also beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer. Canoeing in the Abel Tasman was one of the highlights of our trip.
