We absolutely loved the home! It was a perfect place for us as we explored the beautiful island. The neighborhood was nice and we felt very safe. I loved the porch, the outdoor shower, and the comfy loft bed. We would love to stay here again some day!
What a joy it was to stay in Neil & Sharon's unique Treehouse with it's stunning location! It was truly a slice of heaven up in the trees with complete privacy, yet so convenient to everything. It was very spacious with it's wrap-around deck, roomy living room and kitchen and large sleeping loft. And I love the outdoor shower...a must for me when I'm in warm climates. Neil & Sharon are great people and made us feel so welcome....I would recommend their treehouse to anyone who wants to feel the Aloha spirit at it's finest!
The treehouse is just wonderful! It has everything you need to come for a visit - towels, beach towels, boogie boards, beach umbrella, pots & pans, etc. Everything was so clean when we arrived, and there were fresh flowers everywhere! Neil was more than accommodating with answering questions about the treehouse and the island. The location is just perfect - it's pretty centrally located, and it's up in the trees, so it's quiet and secluded. The porch with a hammock and table/chairs was nice for enjoying the weather! The bed is comfy and there's plenty of pillows.
There are a few kitchen staples in the pantry and fridge which I'm sure vary with time, but if you visit, it would be a good idea to see what's there before heading to the grocery store. One night got a little chilly, but there's a space heater that warms up the place quite nicely.
You may hear some roosters in the morning when you wake up (but they're all over the island anyway, and if you're a light sleeper earplugs should fix that no problem). The outdoor shower is lovely, but in the winter even with hot water, it can be a little chilly. There are some insects - nothing too bad, and it didn't bother us. But, if you're willing to go for something a little rustic, this place is an absolute bargain! You get an entire cabin to yourself up in the trees away from the touristy stuff. You can walk down to Neil and Sharon's any time with questions or give them a call. The kitchen has all the appliances you need to do some cooking for yourself - hot plates, microwave, toaster oven, blender - which allowed us to save a lot on eating out.
Amazing!! Words cannot describe how perfect this little house is. It has everything we needed (kitchen supplies, coffee pot, towels, etc.) and so much more (hammock, fresh flowers, two cold beers in the fridge waiting for us!). Neil was a hoot, and the location was perfect - 2 min to Kalaheo, 10 to Koloa, 15 to Poipu, 20 to Lihue. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all.
We stayed in the Tree House for a portion of our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. Sits high on a hill in the forest, surrounded by trees and birds. The area is safe and secluded, yet no more than 15 minutes from Koloa and 30 minutes from Kapaa. Many amenities provided including the outdoor shower which was awesome. Neil was extremely helpful in giving directions, and making sure we had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay again.
Thank you for staying with us, and for appreciating the unique setting. We also value the private 'bug' feedback, and thank you for acknowledging it is difficult to fix as we do stay in the tropics and in amongst the trees. Thankfully here on Kauai all our critters are harmless - geckos, spiders, mosquitoes, ants...
We'd love to have you stay again!
Neil met us upon arrival, and gave us the grand tour. We loved the layout instantly. He went on to give us a review and tips about the area. We enjoyed the cabin and felt right at home. We loved the outdoor shower and the hammock. Sleeping in the loft was great as it was much cooler then in town. The cabin is secluded and private. And directions to the cabin were clear. We would rent from Neil and Sharon again.

Thirty year resident of Kauai who has built various simple Balinese/Polynesian/ Swiss Family Robinson style timber homes in beautiful island settings.
First came to Kauai in 1980 as part of long world wide surf odyssey - was on his way to Australia, but fell in love with the island, the way of life and spirit of aloha.
Met South African born wife, Sharon, in 2003 on the island. They married on the beach in Poipu in 2005.
Both love the island, love hearing the varied fascinating stories people live, and both love to read and travel!
