The Space

Honeymooners and surfers of any age love this spot! Your secluded hide-away in nature with access through private 'tree tunnel' adjacent to 26 acre pasture - home to neighbors' horses.
Unique rustic redwood cabin (with hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, fridge etc) in the treetops.
Living room leads onto lanai and has sleeper couch and tv and dvd. Inside bathroom has toilet and basin and leads to private hot shower on the lanai. Loft with queen size bed up in treetops.
Wawae Road is a quaint shady road that is popular with walkers and joggers, and the Lawai shrines are within walking distance.
Within five minutes drive you can enjoy coffee, breakfast or lunch/ dinner with locals at the Kalaheo Coffee shop. Brick oven pizza, an Italian restaurant, steak house and chinese take away are also just minutes away.
Ten minutes drive from sunny Poipu (voted best beach in the United States), and en route go through historic Koloa town and pick up supplies at Suekos local store, the Koloa Fish market or the Big Save.
Twenty minutes to the sunny west side with its beautiful white sand wide sand beaches of Kekaha and Poliahle.
Centrally located , you can access Kokee National Reserve, Waimea Canyon(Grand canyon of the Pacific)and panoramic views of Kalalau valley and the stunning Na Pali Coast on the west or go north and in an hour the beautiful north shore with its waterfalls and lush beauty are yours.
A perfectly romantic and rustic slice of paradise. Ideal for couples or 2 people wanting to get away and experience beautiful but simple and in nature Kauai.

  • We left the second half of our week on Kauai open to whatever possibilities might arise once we got there and got our bearings...woke up on the north shore one morning with nowhere to sleep that night. Got on airbnb and found the treehouse, which had not shown up in any of our numerous searches previously. Shot a quick reservation request and heard back from Neil and Sharon just about an hour (email hidden)ey had had a last minute cancellation, and we had scooped it up moments (email hidden)CKY FOR US! Neil communicated plans and directions to us and suggested stops along the way for lunch and sites. Pulled into the treehouse after just a minor detour (veer right where the road splits!) we pulled through the tree tunnel and up to the treehouse and were immediately in love with it. Cozy, shady, surrounded by trees, cool and breezy, with an amazing deck and a private feel. The house is small but very sufficient for two, with a fun sleeping loft and an excellent outdoor shower. Peaceful is an understatement. Kitchen is rustic but again sufficient for easy island meals, especially with the little grill provided on the deck. It was difficult to tear ourselves away from our little treehouse, but when we did we were able to pretty easily explore the whole south and west coasts. About 15 minutes to some great beaches. Neil directed us to a wonderful spot for sunset (dare I divulge the name? don't wanna spoil it) where we built a driftwood fire, cooked up some surf and turf, and watched the sun retire and leave the sky to the moon and stars. Just fantastic. We awoke every morning to the sound of birds singing and breezes moving through the trees. It was exactly the kind of place we were hoping for...

  • Lovely hosts, perfect little cabin and a great location to explore Kauai!
We just returned from a fantastic 3-night stay in the treehouse. Neil was full of great tips on where to eat, see and explore on Kauai, and really helped us make the most of our stay. The location is very handy - a quick trundle down the hill to Poipu (great family beach and snorkeling bay) and within easy reach of Waimea canyon. The north shore is accessible on a long day trip.
The cabin is small, but well equipped and comfortable. It's fantastically peaceful being up amongst the trees and being woken each morning by rustling leaves and birdsong.
We loved our time there and heartily recommend Neil & Sharon's cabin!

  • We enjoyed our 4 nights in Neil's treehouse although it needs some minor rework.

  • This place is the most unique and coolest place I've ever stayed. We spent 9 memorable nights here in Nov/Dec. Neil is wonderful and was fun to talk to. The location is really good, being relatively close to the southern and eastern part of the island and Waimea Canyon on the west, and it wasn't too far away from the northern side, being a relatively small island. We found a nice 5 mile loop run from the house, which was mostly on a narrow, dirt residential road. The place is exceptionally private, which was essential with the outdoor shower, possibly the treehouse's greatest asset. It was nice being at the end of the road with the horse pasture behind the property. It's really like you're in a treehouse while you're in the sleeping loft upstairs, and actually it even felt that way downstairs. We absolutely loved this place! Expect rustic and you will not be disappointed.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at the treehouse! The space is perfect for a couple and when we arrived there were fresh flowers that filled the space with a wonderful fragrance that set the mood for the entire stay. We enjoyed the outdoor shower especially after the hot days in the sun and took advantage of the outdoor BBQ as much as we could to save on eating out. Neil was a wonderful host and gave a lot of great advice on where to go and eat and is such a wonderful story teller. We could have stayed there a month if we could and would gladly be neighbors with him and Sharon any day. We will be back and will be renting from them again. If you are not into the whole resort scene and want to truly get away from it all, this stay is perfect. Quiet and serene (you'll have to get used to the chickens everywhere you go) but the loft bedroom lulls you to sleep with the sway of the trees in the breeze. What a gem! They should be charging more! Great deal, great company and great vacation! Thank you for a wonderful memory!

  • We had a very nice time at the Tropical Jungle Cabin/Treehouse during our honeymoon. The cabin was centrally located so it only took about 20 minutes to get anywhere on the southern part of the island. Neil was personable and offered several activities for us to try while we were staying in Kauai. Despite the fact the shower was outdoors, it was warm and isolated. I would recommend staying at the Tropical Cabin if you are looking for something different than a resort stay while in Hawaii.

  • Neil was very interested in providing information which would make our stay on Kauai interesting and successful and also in ensuring that his accomodation comfortable for us.

Indeed, it was very close to the beaches and central to other coasts. The garden was interesting and the birds enjoyable.
