Planning on visiting NYC or need a temporary place between moves? Come for a stay in our guest room!
Located in the historic Crown Heights neighborhood, our brownstone apartment is conveniently situated across Prospect Park from the Park Slope area and within walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, The Brooklyn Children's Museum and the newly restored Brooklyn Public Library(Main Branch).
The area has an eclectic taste which reflects the diversity of cultures inhabiting it. Crown Heights has some lovely architecture and a variety of peoples and shops, ranging from variously hatted and top-coated Orthodox Jewish residents to vegan Rastafarian Afro-Caribbean restaurants and college students.
The guest room is quite cozy and has a very comfortable single bed, a lamp and side table as well as a good sized closet for your clothes. You would be sharing the common spaces with creative, intelligent and friendly flat-mates.
So, why is this better than staying in a Hostel? We offer lot's of Free amenities: Secure Wireless internet, free laundry machines and a kitchen with great tools and culinary gadgets.
In the backyard there is a small garden with a beautiful row of Rose bushes and tomato plants. We also have bicycles(and helmets) that you can use to ride around the neighborhood. As an added bonus, we are half a block from the Subway! The 2,4 and 5 trains all run express into downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are also several buses nearby that run towards Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick.
If you are driving, we even have a secure backyard (with a locking gate) for you to park in.
Discounted rates available for longer stays as well. Just ask :)
Everything you'd expect in a home setting is available for you… Clean kitchen and bathroom, a refrigerator, a nice living room and access to my personal treasures: Large music collection, Books, Musical instruments, etcetera.
Interaction with Guests
I like to make people feel at home and welcome, but I also strive to meet each guests individual requirements… If you want to hang out and share a nice conversation or would rather keep to yourself, I'm happy either way. :)
I'm always reachable by cell phone and happy to help with directions or recommendations.
The diversity of people and cultures are what drew me in to this neighborhood Also the fact that it is a family area, which provides a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of busy areas like Manhattan.
The 2, 3 and 5 express trains leave from less than half a block from my front door and cover all of your transportation needs.
-No smoking indoors! Use the backyard or take a walk around the block for your smoke break. Don't throw your cigarette butts on the ground.. throw them away in a trash can.
-Keep things clean and tidy, especially in common areas such as the Kitchen, Bathroom and Living Room.
-Maintain respectful noise levels! Especially during the early morning and evening hours.
Use headphones for watching movies or listening to loud music.
-Recycle! If you don't realize how important recycling is for the environment...Our Environment... then I might just have to smack you upside the head! ;)
Closet to the left and a vintage lamp with side table. Not shown: a full length mirror mounted on the door. :)
Truly recommended!! Lovely room, great neighborhood (plenty of nice coffee places / biergartens / and only 10 min walking from the botanic garden), and Daniel was a great host. He really made me feel like home and I am confident that I will book the same room when Im going back to NY. Thanks Daniel!
Daniel was a great host, the room was great for a single traveler like me. The subway is just a minute's walk from the place, which is really convenient for ppl who want to explore the city using public transportation. I felt quite safe in the neighborhood, recommended to stay here if u are visiting NYC like me.
It was very nice for Daniel to accommodate my rather late arrival - I did not get to see Daniel himself, but communication was smooth and easy. The room is on the second floor and has plenty of light. Location is extremely convenient. Perfect place for my short stay. Thanks Daniel!
very comfort，very near to subway，very clear。i do like your house and room，thanks a lot。
Daniel is very friendly, warm and hospitable. I didn't see him very much due to having opposite schedules but I really enjoyed chatting with him when I did see him. The apartment is very close to the subway, not so far from Prospect Park and close to shops. The room was clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.
