We had a fantastic time in Volkan and Safak's apartment. The view is magnificent, all the essentials are provided and checking in/out couldn't be easier. We loved the neighborhood and the location proved a perfect launching point for our exploration of the city.
Great location and view. Thanks!
We stayed at Galata studio residence.
The location is ideal for exploring the old town.
Galata square has some nice restaurants, friendly kebab shop owners and a 5mn walk down the hill gets you to the tram from where it's only 4 stops to the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia.
The studio is cosy but has everything you need.
If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs as the surrounding area has nightlife and music.
The stairwell is quite steep and in need of some renovation so avoid heavy luggage.
I think that the other 2 Galata properties may have been a better choice so be sure to check those out.
Thank you to Volkan who very kindly let us leave out suitcases at the apartment until our flight that evening!
Great location and views of Galata Tower. Volkan and his team were prompt and helpful. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped.
The hosts Volkan and his team was perfect. The best location: close to the bars and old historical streets. Beautiful Galata! Apartments were clean and there were all things we need.
May be important: long stairs without an elevator. Don't advice big luggage.
Great spot in a fascinating district and the view is great from this studio apartment on the 4th floor. I was sorry to not meet Safak in person.
Perfect location!! That's the highlight!! We will be surprised!! My flight is delayed, so I arrived Istanbul at midnight, and arrived at Galata at about 2:00 AM, but Volkan treat us great at midnight, really thanks for this. And Safak give us a lot of useful information, answer every question I asked, recommended this crew.
I did not think it was as great as all of the other reviews, and my standards aren't unreasonably high. I realize that everyone has different experiences. I think you pay for the location, not the apartment itself. It wasn't all that bad, but I expected more for the price. I could have gotten a much nicer room in the same vicinity for less.
I'd stay here again, but only at a reduced rate, maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the price. Here's why:
Pros: Safak was very helpful and responsive, and the apartment's location was great. The pictures accurately show the apartment's layout. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. The view was beautiful. Free wifi worked well. It was easy to get the keys and meet Safak. Bathroom worked. Lots of information about things to do inside the apartment. Hairdryer was awesome. Plenty of closet space and room to relax. Room was freezing, but the big space heater did the trick. Has a hot plate to make Turkish coffee if you know how.
The apartment is on the 5th story with no elevator, and the stairwell is steep and generally in terrible shape. So is the banister. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling, as well as a lot of mold. There was a little mold on the walls. The doorknob was missing on the bathroom, making it a pain to open the door. The surrounding area was extremely noisy, including the other aprtments. The shower leaked as well, always leaving the bathroom floor soaked. The water temperature was extremely hot or cold, not in the middle. Also, there was only enough hot water for one shower, not two back-to-back. Make sure you bring your own soap and shampoo. Stairway smelled strongly like exhaust fumes.
Location of the place was perfect and the view is breath taking!
The apartment was just perfect. Great location and amazing views.
