Ideal South Hill Neighborhood

Apartment - Entire home/apt · S Adams St, Spokane, WA 99204, United States

The Space

This is a quaint garden level apartment in a beautiful home we call "Adam"in one of the coolest neighborhoods in Spokane. This 1911 home is on Spokane's Historic Register in the central South Hill neighborhood of Cannon Addition at 12th and Adams. You will love this space and this location!

This awesome little apartment has a separate entry, and huge windows looking out to the sweeping lawns and handsome tree-shaded homes in the neighborhood.

Our cozy airbnb space is in one of Spokane's best walkable, bikable, family-friendly neighborhoods. Everything you need is close at hand.

Within walking distance there are amenities too numerous to mention, including a great little coffee shop (The Rocket), an organic market (Huckleberry's), a regular grocery store (Rosauers), a top notch pizza place, even a hardware store! There are also several restaurants, parks and open space which we will happily guide you to!

"Adam" is only about 10 blocks and a 15-minute walk to downtown, and there is a bus line a block away. Easy access to arterials, but on a beautiful, quiet street that is preferred by walkers and bicyclists for getting up and down the South Hill.

Apartment has living room, bedroom, full kitchen, full bath (wonderful, deep cast iron tub w/shower), and easy access to laundry. There is one full (double) bed in the bedroom and a second full bed in the living area. So, two couples could sleep comfortably here, or a small family.

Wireless Internet access is available to our guests.

When we say full kitchen - we mean it! It's a tidy galley-style kitchen with a real stove & oven & whatever you need to prepare your own meals, including kitchen basics like spices, and condiments.

On the lawn, which is really large and lovely, there is a picnic table and gas grill for you, as well as a sweet swing on the front porch.

Easy and ample street parking is available as well as space to store your bikes or other large items. We also offer a large, secure conveniently located storage area just though a door in the back of the apartment if you need it.

This apartment is about 10 minutes from the airport. We'd be happy to pick you up if we can arrange it and you prefer not to rent a car.

We are pet-friendly, and will happily welcome your well-behaved pet for a fee. Please contact me if you would like to spend your time in Spokane with your pet.

Thank you!

  • My husband and I just spent 4 weeks at "Adam" while I did a clinical rotation in the area. Rebecca and Tim are the consummate hosts and couldn't have been easier to work with. Any question, need, or concern was easily, and quickly, taken care of. Including lending a bread pan, so my husband could make dinner. We loved the area, in fact looked at a house on the market nearby. If you love coffee, Rocket Bakery is two blocks up and has a FABULOUS cup. Lots to do close by, very centrally located and tons of walking opportunities. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to be and better people to rent from. Thanks again for everything Rebecca!!!!

  • It was a dark and stormy night... I had flown into Spokane after an epic cross-country whipsaw and needed a place to rest my head for the night before getting back on the road to drive another few hours home. It began to rain hard as I pulled up in front of 1210 Adams (note, the property is a quick 10 minute drive from the airport and very easy to find). I was exhausted, and very much looking forward to coming to rest after so much travel.

I opened the door to the apartment and could not have been more relieved and pleased to be welcomed to such a cozy, lovely space. Knowing I had a late arrival, Rebecca had kindly come over ahead of time and turned some lights and heat on for me, as well as left a note and dish of delicious gingerbread cookies. The kitchen was also generously stocked with organic pasta, sauce, oats, coffee and many other staples. I took a hot shower (excellent water pressure!), made a cup of tea, and explored the apartment for a few minutes before climbing into the comfortable, firm bed. Compared to an airport motel, well, there simply is absolutely no comparison.

Tons of great reading material, games, and interesting artwork. The apartment is furnished with eclectic flea-market chic in an artistic and entirely pleasing way where every item in the apartment is interesting to contemplate. Not only were there many candles, but matches as well - a touch I noted as very unusual in my experience with rentals. I felt like it spoke to the trust that Rebecca had in her guests to responsibly enjoy and care for the space.

I would have loved to stay longer and I wholeheartedly recommend any length stay to anyone. The apartment is small, but quite cozy. I'd come back with my husband and daughter in a heartbeat. The neighborhood would be great for walking and admiring the great old houses.

Interacting with Rebecca was extremely easy and pleasant. I found her incredibly responsive and an amazingly gracious and conscientious host. I felt like I wanted to write her a handwritten thank you note after my stay. Followed up by possibly a dinner invite so we could get to know each other.

I enthusiastically recommend a stay with Rebecca at this apartment.

  • Our stay at Adam could not have been more perfect! Rebecca's attention to detail is impeccable - from the lovely decor, to the fully stocked kitchen, to the organic coffee and ginger snaps, to the fabulous book and map collection. Best of all may have been the list of her favorite local shops and restaurants which I carried with me faithfully all week - each of her recommendations was spot on and added significantly to our enjoyment of Spokane and especially the wonderful South Hill neighborhood. Last but not least, Rebecca is an incredibly warm and gracious host who took time out of her day to give us a special tour of the two historic homes she has lovingly and beautifully restored. You will not be disappointed, I promise!.

  • This is the third time I have stayed on Adams St, so obviously I like it. I particularly like the neighborhood, the cleanliness of the apt and the attentiveness of the hosts. My stays have been work related but in the free time I've had, it's been great having easy access to good restaurants, grocery stores and a walkable neighborhood. Rebecca and Tim have always been available and very helpful.

  • A cute and cozy garden level apartment right in the heart of a historic neighborhood! Was perfect for what we needed.....3 adults. The host left us yummy breakfast food including fresh apricots and a nice welcome note! Definitely can recommend this place to anyone passing through or stopping in Spokane. Thanks!

  • Loved the cozy little nest! The garden apartment was perfect for our overnight with our two kiddos—the other residents didn't have to listen to the clamor of little feet, and the kitchen allowed us to breakfast in our PJs . We enjoyed ambling around the neighborhood—filled with architectural charm, friendly people, plus a great coffee/bake shop 2 blocks away, the fab Huckleberry's market a few more blocks in the other direction, and restaurants just a quick hop away. Ultra convenient—literally 2 minutes from downtown Spokane and 10 minutes to the airport.

  • Rebecca took care of all the little things and made the stay very cozy. From a few english muffins and some orange juice (along with a variety of other things!) to clean towels, soap, and shampoo, it made for a very comfortable stay. We stayed for hoopfest weekend and there were four large males, we all slept comfortably and it was only a short (5 min) drive to downtown (~1.5 miles). If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Spokane, look no further! One full bed, one full size futon, cute well-equipped kitchen (with dishes and some food!) and a bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Thanks and hope to stay again soon!!
