Our place is secluded and peaceful, surrounded by decks overlooking the woods and the firepit. There's plenty of room inside and out for a big family gathering. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need to make memorable meals.
Our vacation house is near Cleveland, Helen and Dahlonega, Georgia, in Mountain Lake Resort with swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding, sauna and health room, wifi and more on site . It's near lots of waterfalls, beautiful drives, hiking. We have hiking and travel information in the house, or you can go to the quaint country store on the property for more information.
The main house has two bedrooms downstairs and a large sleeping loft. The cabin has a sleeper sofa and a pot belly stove. You can sit outside on the deck and watch the wildlife, or watch television. (Cable television provided.)
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, full-sized refrigerator and all the cooking equipment most people would need. It's also stocked with dishes, glassware and flatware to serve up to 12 people. There is a table in the eating area of the kitchen and also a dining table on the sunporch. The large deck outside has chairs for lounging, napping, reading or just sitting. We often see deer walking through the woods behind the house, and you can hear the creek at the bottom of the hill.
There are two bathrooms in the main house, and a new washer and dryer for your use.
We'll usually be near (our home is only 2 1/2 miles away) to answer questions.
Amenities are numerous. There is an extra charge for horseback riding.
Interaction with Guests
We live 2 1/2 miles from the site, so we are available, if you need us.
Residents at Mountain Lake Resort are friendly, but not intrusive. Our place is on a large lot with plenty of green space in the back. There are other cabins nearby. Springtime blooms, fall foliage, winter starkness...beauty all the time!
While there is no public transportation, the resort is easy to find. There's room for several cars on site.
Other Things to Note
Check in time is usually 3:00 P.M. and check out is 12:00 P.M. We can be flexible when possible.
Mountain Lakes Resort requires that each guest have an amenities pass for each full day they are here. The passes are $5 per day for adults and $3 per day for children. When booking, give me the names of people coming and I'll buy the passes for you to pick up when you arrive. You may repay me when you get here. I'll give you the receipt.
When leaving, please strip the beds and put towels and bedding in the laundry area.
We have had bad experiences with unruly pets, so no pets are allowed.
No smoking is allowed in either the main house or the cabin.
The cabin was extremely clean and warming. We loved are weekend in this peaceful part of the woods.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The home and cabin were very clean and Linda and Bob were great hosts. We loved the privacy of being in a cul-de-sac and the mountain view was fabulous! We would definitely love to go back next time we are in the area. Thanks for making our time away from home so enjoyable. Jack and Brenda
Linda was flexible and quick to respond. She made sure all arrangements were handled prior to our arrival and even decorated for Christmas. The property is a dream. You can tell this home is well-loved, as it should be. We immediately felt at home and comfortable. The kitchen has nearly every cooking supply you could hope for and we were even able to cook Christmas dinner there.
Here you have access to the great amenities of the resort but you still feel like you have a piece of the world all to yourself. We would love to stay here again. You won't find a better place for this price in the area.
Wow! It was more lovely than we'd imagined. We felt at home immediately thanks to the cosy furnishings and connected to nature thanks to the incredible view from the deck. If it hadn't been for the chilly weather (there were even some snow flakes on our last morning), we would have spent all of our time on the deck. We were there with another couple and appreciate both layout that allowed for both privacy and camaraderie. We'd love to return!
The cabin was lovely! We really felt at home with all the amenities. The outdoor area was HUGE! Our kids loved having a loft bedroom and a separate area to watch a DVD while it rained (and we loved having a place for them to get away). We would definitely love to come back. Although it was not the season to enjoy the lake, the resort is a nice place. Thank you, Linda.
What a great experience! Needed a last-minute getaway and this was perfect. Hosts were very quick to reply to my inquiry and could not have been more accommodating. Planning to return soon. There's so much space between the main house and the cabin, not to mention the inviting outdoor areas (LOVE the wrap-around deck!). The photos are accurate but don't do enough justice. Very quiet and peaceful. Lots of light in the living area, Everything was very well maintained. Did not take advantage of any of the resort amenities - maybe next time. Didn't want to leave the property!
Incredilbe home and beautiful property. We had a beautiful fall weekend filled with fun and activities. The home is nothing short of amazing.
My husband and I are retired and living in North Georgia. We love to walk on the Appalacian Trail, read, garden (me), fish (my husband), and spend time outside.
