About this listing
Lovely double bedroom one minute's walk from the village of Windermere with restaurants, cafes and bars and on the doorstep of the village park.
Offering a home away from home and dedicated car parking. A safe haven for Lake District explorers!
The double room is fresh and modern and is situated on the first floor of my home. There will be nobody else sleeping on that floor whilst I have airbnb guests, although there is another bedroom for my daughter when she is home from university.
The family bathroom is situated next door to your bedroom and has a bath and shower. I do use this bathroom occasionally but as I am out at work most days, it will feel more like exclusive use.
I'm happy to share the living areas of my home with you, cooking facilities can be provided for a small additional charge and the lounge is available although there may be times when I have friends around for a meal. There is an enclosed patio area and you are welcome to use that also and on cooler evenings get the fire pit started.I will make internet access available. NB: I don't have a tv and I know this is important for some guests.
Interaction with Guests
I look forward to welcoming new guests. I work locally and will not always be available to greet you on arrival but will leave specific information on access prior to your arrival. I am usually around early evening so perhaps we can swap stories over a cup of tea or coffee.
Windermere is a thriving and bustling Lakeland village with lots of restaurants and bars. We are fifteen minutes walk from the lake and there are many walks, featuring stunning views, for all abilities right on the doorstep. We are well catered for in terms of cinemas, theatre and live music venues. It is possible to enjoy the tranquility of country life and the hub of a village all within minutes of each other.
There is a regular train service between Windermere and Kendal, which then feeds to the main UK cities. To get into rural lakeland there is a frequent bus service or coach trips that can be booked.
I have a strict no smoking policy in my home and I am not able to accept pets.
Tina was an excellent host and made my stay particularly enjoyable. She was friendly and very welcoming. She had good suggestions for places to visit and went above and beyond what a host would normally be expected to do.
Great place to stay! Tina was very welcoming and the room extremely comfortable. Can't fault location and Tina's recommendation for dinner was fantastic. Would definitely try to stay there again if we're back in this beautiful part of the world!
Tina is very friendly.
She is so kind and I feel greatful with her.
The location was good too.
I have a big baggage but I can walk.
I can recommend for everyone.
My friend and I arrived from London for a long weekend of hiking to Lake District. Tine welcomed us to her home and throughout the whole 4 days she was really helpful. The room is clean, cozy and nicely decorated, we had no problems at all during our stay. The location was perfect, buses to Ullswater area and Keswick are within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!
Excellent stay at Tina's! We had everything we needed, her daughter and her were very accommodating. Room was very comfortable and her place is within walking distance to everything. Would stay again!
An awesome experience! Tina is a kind, helpful host and so as her daughter Rebecca:) They are both easy-going and offered us a lot of help. The house is clean, bright and always smells good. Highly recommended!
Tina is a great host. Nice and helpful. We stayed 3 nights during the trip in Lake District. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. 5 minutes walk to Windermere railway station. Recommend!
About the Host, Tina
I am active and outgoing and love hillwalking and fellrunning in the beautiful Lakeland hills. To balance all this fitness, I should mention that one of my favourite pastimes is good food with a nice glass of red shared with friends! I am a Christian and attend a church in Windermere. Last year I took the bold step of getting rid of my television and I have to say, I have not missed it one bit - there are just too many good books to read, people to see and things to do. I do like films and fortunately we are well catered for in terms of cinemas in the area. As an Airbnb host, I look forward to meeting my guests and learning about their culture and lifestyles. I look forward to meeting you.
