We have welcomed guests from all over the world who have come back repeatedly to stay at our holiday home in Aitutaki and embrace the special magic of lagoon life at Tangikaara Beach House.
The space
Enjoy waking up to the spectacular views of the Aitutaki lagoon from your bed. Open the bifold doors and the backdoor and allow the Seabreeze in. Then enjoy your coffee from the large deck while you contemplate your plans for the day. There is a new kitchen where you can cook up a storm or simply have a bbq out on the deck. Life is simple and the freedom of Aitutaki lagoon living seeps into your soul.
There are 2 kayaks for our guests to use and 2 hammocks on the beach to relax in.
We now have air conditioning in Tangikaara for your night time comfort.

The beach is at your doorstep. Out in front of Tangikaara in the lagoon is the best place to enjoy sundowners with the gentle waters lapping at your feet. To the right about 50m up the beach is a superb waterhole which was dug out about 20+ years ago. It is about 100 m long and is perfect for swimming lengths, snorkeling and just having a dip when you need to cool down. You will see the green grass marking the beginning of the waterhole. A must do several times a day!
Other things to note
There are 2 kayaks at Tangikaara for guests to use. Enjoy a paddle out on the lagoon.
There are also 2 hammocks to enjoy too.

Tangikaara is within walking distance along the beach to many eating places
* Tamanu is 5 minutes walk to the left down the beach.
* Tava'e Resort is further past Tamanu about 2-3 mins which has lovely island fusion meals especially if you love Tuna sashimi.
* Aunty Odeez is to the right up the beach about 3 mins walk just next to Paradise Cove. More home style family run restaurant. Famous for their Parrot fish and chips.

Walk or drive to two 5 star resorts and there are shops and cafes in Amuri, Aitutaki which is about 3 minutes away on the bike.
From the house turn right up the beach and there is a deep swimming/snorkelling hole 50 paces up the beach. This waterhole is about 100m long and about 3-4 m deep. It's my favorite place for cooling off. Great for a morning wakeup swim!
